Yessar Mufeed Hussain

My visit was to determine the frequency of my infusions for my medical condition. I always look forward to seeing Dr Hussain as he is easy to talk to, compassionate and very thorough during every appointment. He truly cares about his patients and am very fortunate to have a doctor of his stature taking care of me. He also has a great team of personnel working for him.

Dr. Hussain saw me and knew right away I had been misdiagnosed by previous neurologist 14 years ago. All the medicines I have taken and other treatments were for nothing but Dr. Hussain was going to get me on right track. Several genetic and other tests to rule out possible diseases, he came up with a diagnosis. Explained it, told me what I could do to relieve pain, answered my questions and is keeping me under a watchful eye.

Dr. Hussain and Staff were kind, considerate, and responsive. I felt that I was in capable hands at all times. I highly recommend Dr. Hussain.

My first visit with Dr Hussain was helpful, informative, thorough, and hopeful! We agreed on an appropriate plan for moving forward with further diagnostic testing. I found Dr Hussain’s interpersonal manner to be pleasant and comforting.

I found Dr Hussain after about a 7 to 10 year search for a diagnosis. He, within a short time, did a muscle biopsy that was conclusive for IBM. He gave me the best advice : you won’t die from it but will take it with you when you die. I go to him when I feel I need to or one of my other doctors wants me to see him. He has been someone I know I can depend on and he isn’t necessarily isn’t after money but he seems to sincerely care. He also told me that I would just need to find a new me. I consider him and his wife friends. My last visit was really good and it was so good to see him again! It had been a few years since I’d seen him.

I requested a second opinion, with high hopes that he could offer new insightsminto my declining health. He spent most of the time during our visit texting and leaving voice mails with the neurologist who has managed my care up to now, asking that EMG test results be sent to him.

His service is just terrible. I had a first meeting with him, recommended, in October four months ago. Since that time I have called him back three times with zero followup. In fact during the first meeting he had somebody else’s blood test on my chart. He is supposedly the best for neuropathy. I think it has gone to his head and he treats patients will no respect or folllowup . Maybe the worse is his office staff that makes you go through hoops to leave a call back number. When they do call back it is a in your face one way conversation. The obnoxious attitude and the talking does not allow you to get in a word. Good luck. You have been warned.

I realize there are not many neuromuscular doctors to choose from, so beggars can't be choosers. I wish I could be. The place is hard to find and there isn't proper signage. The office is very nice, though. Dr. Hussain didn't even bother to show up for my first appt. It turned out he wasn't even in town. He had a nurse do all of my testing and she had another nurse do part of the testing for her. My second appt was cancelled because Dr. Hussain was called in for an emergency biopsy. Biopsies aren't emergencies. They are always scheduled. I had rearranged childcare and work and then I had to do it all again the next day. I finally did a telemedicine appt with Dr. Hussain to get my test results. I'd say it was the first time I saw his face, but he only had the camera pointed at the top half of his face. He talked very fast and did not really listen well. $80 in co-pays and 5 hours of missed work to only see half of his face for 12 minutes for him to refer me to a different specialty.

No bedside manner, incorrect diagnosis and failure to treat. Avoid this doctor if possible.
