Dr. Yael Gold

I saw her years ago, but I still remember my brief time with this therapist as a negative, hurtful experience. The main issue was that she didn’t make an effort to empathize with me or get to know me before making sweeping pronouncements. Having seen me for only one or two sessions, she brusquely informed me that my “needs [hadn’t been] met in childhood”. When I asked her why she said that, she didn’t explain (how could she, since she barely knew me)—she just sharply repeated herself. Worse, rather than helping me work through my depression or empathizing with my legitimate concerns about bringing a child into the world in the coming years, she informed me I shouldn’t have a child. (I’m so glad I didn’t take that advice. Instead, I got a new therapist.) And finally, as I discovered quite by accident about a year after seeing her, she was dishonest about whom we knew in common. In sum, I felt this provider was arrogant and uncaring. I hope others had a better outcome.

I have seen Dr. Gold for quite a while and have always found her to be an excellent therapist. She is attentive throughout the session and I feel she genuinely cares about my well being.

Dr. Gold is really good. She is carrying and very knowlagable.

Dr. Gold does not listen; seems preoccupied and not present. She forgot something very serious that I had told her at the last consult (life threatening) and I of course never went back. When I informed her; she apologized but said that she was human and made mistakes. However, she did have time to review her notes where this HAD TO BE WRITTEN.
