Mr. Willis H. Wagner

I sincerely hope that for every ones sake that Dr. Wagner's personality does not affect his performance as a physician. Rude, abrupt, no bedside manner. His office staff was excellent. However, he did not spend more than 3 minutes with me on the morning after my surgery. Just in and out with little conversation. I am being generous saying 3 minutes. I think one star for him is being generous.

Great Doctor and staff. He explained in detail my pending surgery and his role. I have complete confidence in Dr Wagner.

My original review posted 8 months ago is below this one. On April 10, 2019 I called office in LA about 10 a.m. Answering machine came on giving multiple options and information, including office hours. Technically the office should have been open. I left a message. Basically the message was to request, once again a legible copy of the results of my Spring 2018 carotid artery scan. The copies sent at the time , at my multiple requests, was in a font size that was smaller than the smallest size in Word or any other program; basically illegible (see below). After I left message on voice mail and hung up, I realized that I needed to add one piece of information. I called back and almost immediately a person answered. She asked if I could hold on and I said yes. Almost 13 minutes later I was still on hold. I called again and once again got the voice mail saying office hours were.... and press 1, press 2, etc. etc. The quality of the office staff is minus one star. It may not be their fault but rather changes in the staffing practices of the doctors. Based on this brief experience I am not hopeful that I will receive a call back any time soon. Of course, it might just be a bad day. But maybe not. Be forewarned and don't wait until the last minute to contact the practice. It may take forever to receive a response. 8 MONTHS AGO REVIEW I have been Dr. Wagner's patient for a number of years. I have found that the staff has grown less helpful and competent. The same is true of Dr. Wagner. For years he would be familiar with your medical history, spend time providing information, answering questions and even do a brief exam. However, my recent experiences are disappointing. After having a carotid ultra sound I immediately went to Dr. Wagner's office as has been the procedure for years. At the last appointment, Dr. Wagner came into the room with a sheet of paper in his hand, flopped into a chair after saying hello, and then started to read the paper which had the results of the ultrasound. His comment to me was to keep doing what I was doing. I had to ask a few questions to get more information about the test results. He was clearly not interested in providing any more information than necessary. And then got up to leave. This meeting lasted no more than 5 minutes. Before he left I asked if I could have a copy of the test results. He said someone on the staff would give me a copy. That didn't happen as they said they would send it to me. A few months passed with no copy. When it was finally sent it was in a font size less than 8 and barely legible. I asked if they would resend the results in a legible font size. They sent copy of the same impossible to read record. On the other side of this, Dr. Wagner did a great surgical job. But that was then, and this is now. I had a 10am appointment with a 9:45 check in. I checked in at 9:45 and was in a room with assistant prepping for the doctor at 10. Dr. Wagner came in shortly after and was fully prepared to address all my post surgery concerns. I was leaving the parking lot 10:24 in complete understanding of what I was there to see him for. The staff was awesome as well. Dr. Wagner totally justified dealing with the L.A. morning traffic on my 93 mile journey from the high desert to see him.
