My son plays AAA hockey and had a broken tibia due to a spiral fracture. He broke it at a tournament at Notre Dame and required follow up after his surgery that was done immediately after the break. We had a great experience with Dr. Hennrikus and he came highly recommended by a fellow physician that had taken care of his own children. Don't take your child to Dr. Hennrikus. He lets his ego overrule his judgment. Yes, an "expert" can make snap judgments, but that should not be the default decision model. He was suggested as an "expert" when the local orthopedic doctor thought my daughter might have a problem. After giving her a less-than-cursory examination he pronounced her completely fit ("walk across the room....you're fine"). After she complained of increasing pain for a couple more months, we took her to a more responsible specialist in Delaware who spent almost an hour with her, in consultation with several colleagues, and came to a more carefully thought out conclusion. Not only was visiting Hennrikus a waste of time and money, more importantly it delayed getting proper treatment for my daughter. He needs to check his ego and/or retire. Hi guys, I had been going to the bone and joint int. For several years to receive the synvisc-one injection in both knee. This year they call me and change the medication for euflexxa (one set every 6 months) that's mean 3 shots in every knee, for 3 weeks. I went to my first shot, then I suppose to back one week later for the second shot but the same day like je 1:30 hour before the shot they call me and cancel to re-schedule the treatment, why if they know I need a shot by week for 3 weeks don't schedule from the beginning the next 3 app for the shot and let the patients waiting until they have a room for those patients. I have to travel from Reading, PA to Hershey,PA ? They must be more organized with this tx !! I haven't received my second shot in my second week ! And they haven't call me to re-schedule either ! Very helpful doctor. This was a third opinion. My son was told by one doctor to have a surgery to place a screw in his feet for flat feet. Another doctor said he never heard of this procedure. Dr Hennrikus explained everything clearly and did not recommend the surgery. I did not think the surgery was a good idea to begin with. My son has no pain and is a good athlete. Good experience with my son! Despite not being an established patient, they fit him into their schedule very soon after he broke his foot. I wanted experience with a pediatric ortho and the PA that saw my kid was really great with him. Thanks!
