He is the worse .. if it wasn’t for the Salinas Valley nurses my daughter might not be here today ..

Dr Shen met me at the exact appointment time and patiently answered my numerous questions in detail. His bed side manner is second to none. I was concerned about Parkinson’s and he put all of my concerns to rest. He did not rush me one bit. Happy to wholeheartedly recommend Dr Shen

He has helped me locate the issue of my seizures, apparently they were caused by inflammation along my spinal cord.

We initially went to Dr. Shen for a second opinion relating to post-seizure neurological and behavioral problems our elderly mother was exhibiting. After a review of her medical history and treatment, a thorough assessment of her debilitating dementia, and observational discussions with her family members, Dr. Shen quickly determined that the behavioral issues were due to inappropriate over-medication she had been prescribed. After putting mom on different medications, her issues quickly resolved and literally saved her life, while substantially enhancing the quality of her life and the lives of her family members. We can't praise Dr. Shen enough for the core competence, expertise, and effectiveness he demonstrated during this stressful time. He clearly was intimately familiar with the medical literature supporting his underlying diagnosis, and effectively communicated his thought processes and recommendations in a thorough and productive manner. He had an appropriately compassionate, but no-nonsense approach to a difficult and complicated problem which confirmed that the mission of finding a solution was just as serious to him as it was to all of us. We have had several follow-up appointments with Dr. Shen and the quality of his patient care has been consistent throughout. Anyone who finds themselves in the care of this man will be in expert hands. Of this, we have no doubt. He is an excellent physician who we would not hesitate to recommend to any of our friends and family. The worst! Our relative had a stroke at a relatively early age. He prescribed a medication used for Alzheimer's patients. That is NOT used even off label for stroke survivors with short term memory loss. He also prescribed a medication for seizures. There was ONE episode of spasticity with her arm. Spasticity is common post-stroke and is NOT a seizure. He also doubled up on blood thinners which put her at extremely high risk for bleeding. He also never gave her a baseline memory test!

I've been seeing Dr. Shen for about 10 years for MS. He listens to my concerns and encourages me to take good care of myself to prevent relapses. His staff is fantastic and very responsive to my needs. I feel blessed to have a local neurologist that have so much confidence in.
