Doc Koch operated on me 30 years ago. I have seem him many times over the years.Hes the Best. Your in good hands if your his patient!

Although my surgery took place about 10 years ago I can honestly say I think Dr Koch is awesome. I am a simple country girl and was very worried about being in Baltimore. The day of my surgery there was some kind of problem and his staff started sending patients home. I was very worried that I had made a wasted trip. I think they were sending people home that lived close. He did my surgery and all is well although I am still in the process of getting my mouth back together. It took me a bit to get used to his personality but I really, really like him and would recommend him to anyone. I had similar experience and would give 0 stars if there was an option. He let his student deal with me for the first 30 mins and later walked in and did not seem to care at all.

This doctor is the worst doctor I have ever seen. I was referred to him by another Hopkins doctor. He acted like he didn't know why I was there. He suggest a 6 month follow up visit. During that visit, he was an hour late for the appointment. He didn't know why I was there, and was very condescending about it. He was a waste of my time and money both times. You have to realize that Johns Hopkins is an academic medical center so students will be involved in the process. Instead of the Dr. taking your preliminary readings, etc. the students do. I think Dr. Koch was excellent and probably saved my life. His time is valuable and that is the other reason students do what they do there. Dr. Koch detailed every aspect of my thyroid cancer diagnosis at my first visit. He was incredibly thorough and made sure I understood everything that was happening within me as well as what would happen in the coming weeks. When the time came, he removed my cancerous thyroid and over 40 lymph nodes. Sure, my procedure was delayed a few hours due to complications in a case ahead of mine. I was kept informed and the surgery was a success. My follow up care was equally thorough. If I had to do it again, I couldn't wish for a better doctor. I have been a patient of Dr. Koch for over ten years due to a rare stage four tumor. I highly recommend Dr. Koch as a surgeon and for follow-up visits. I appreciate his comments, how he listens and explains (whether good or bad), and his concern for my well being. The decision to select Dr. Koch is one of the best decisions I've ever made.
