Wayne Poe Cockrell JR.

I consider myself extremely fortunate to have found Dr. Cockrell, and his entire staff at AOC. After over a decade of progressively worsening back pain, Dr. Cockrell basically saved my life by figuring out that I needed to see a rheumatologist, insisting that I consult one, so that I could be diagnosed and treated for Ankylosing Spondylitis. The immunosuppressants, coupled with regular visits to Dr. Cockrell and regular SI Injections (which I had never heard of until Dr. Cockrell recommended them to me), have enabled me to live life again! Dr. Cockrell is an angel! Dr. Cockrell always takes his time with patients, explaining everything and each procedure thoroughly, and making sure everyone is on the same page. He never acts too busy for patients the way some other doctors do, and he seems like he genuinely cares about your well-being. The staff and nurses are all so amazing. They treat everyone with the highest of respect and the greatest of care. Jennifer Davis, the nurse practitioner is just as amazing as Dr. Cockrell in caring for patients. I am more grateful to her and Dr. Cockrell than I can ever say. I would highly recommend Dr. Cockrell to anyone. He’s a great doctor and a great man.

I only have high praise for Dr Cockrell and the staff in the Pain Management department at AOC. From the kind gentlemen assisting upon arrival through each point of contact, I feel like patient needs are the number one priority. Dr Cockrell is thorough, professional and personable.

Dr. Cockrell was very informative and compassionate. He had a great bedside manner and was very forthcoming.

I met Dr Cockrell for the first time this week. He has a wonderful bedside manner and took time with me to ask questions concerning my medical history, current issue and the sources and nature of my pain..Dr. Cockrell also offered me advice on the benefits of tumeric and natural supplements. I felt that he covered all the bases.

Dr. Cockrell was very warm & caring,very thorough n his examination of all the facts about my case,took quality time n his examination of my case. I would highly recommend him 2 any dealing with chronic pain.

Dr Cockrell Jr uis a well established physician in the Mobile, AL area for Pain Management. He is an excellent physician in his field . I definitely recommend him to anyone seeking relief for pain. He has done multiple Epidural Injections in my spine for Lumbar & cervical pain as well as 2 SI (Sacroilac Injections) which has given me pain relief fior my issues for extended amount of time. Great visit. I felt good when his assistant came and got me she presented herself well.When the Dr came in he had such a pleasant and polite way of making you feel comfortably. That is what I like most. Talking and explaining himself. He told me to give the procedure a few days.That is what I meant when I told him he made me love him. Keep caring

Was there for dual epidurals and Dr. Cockrell attended to my every question or need. This with great attention on “bedside manner “”. Couldn’t have been better attended to.

Dr Cockrell has been and continues to work with me concerning my lower back. He’s given me injections which didn’t do anything for this pain. But then he referred me to an OBGYN, a colon surgeon, a urologist, and a pelvic floor physical therapist. I finally have an awesome team that I trust ( I don’t trust easily anymore when dealing with this pain for 11 years.) My team really listens to me and cross checks my records from each team member. We’re closer to a series of procedures which we hope to implement simultaneously to help me. Because of a tight cluster of scar tissue wrapped around my S-1 nerve ( sitting to the left of plates, screws, and fusions) I will never be free from pain but at least 3/5 issues will hopefully stop severe spasming in my rectum and uthretra areas. My belief is the hardware is causing the spasms. Dr Cockrell will then help me with my back pain. He knows I have a horse I’m aching to ride. I’m 68. I’m driven. Doctor Cockrell spent over 45 minutes in the examination room with me he gave me 100% of his attention he was wonderful he answered all my questions you could not ask for better examination from a doctor. He's the kind of doctor you wood want to see. He was great

Dr Wayne Cockrell is the best doctor that I had ever seen. He helped me understand my situation when it comes to my back. Even if I have arthritis on top of scoliosis he told me ejections was best but gave me medication for it. I recommend anyone to him than anybody in Gulfport and Bioxli thank you Dr Cockrell ????

My life is steadily changing with each visit to AOC. Dr. Cockrell truly knows his field. I thank God for the tremendous efforts he has made to improve my pain level and increase my quality of life! I feel whole today.

They treat you as a patient with respect and understand you are in pain, not someone only seeking medications. I have used Dr. Cockrell several times to have an epidural in my lower back. He's very through in discussing the procedure. Yesterday I had my first initial appointment with him. He took his time with me to diagnose the problem and design a plan.

Entire staff was very professional and polite. Dr Cochran is awesome. I have had chronic back pain for years and he is the only doctor to explain to me my problem and all solutions. He was professional and listened to what I had to say and answered questions I asked him. Would recommend him to anyone.

I have been seeing Dr. Wayne Cockrell for the past 16+ years, and his demeanor and bed side manner is always the same. very polite, patient, gentle and kind. He’s one of the best doctors I’ve had in a long time. He also do my trigger point injections in my neck and back and they are always successful, he explains what it will feel like, and what it will do, as well as what you should do, and it’s exactly as he states. So their are no surprises. I’ve recently had an injection in my knee for the first time and Dr. Cockrell explained everything in detail that would happen, again it was very successful and I’m having great results. The only thing that helps her cope is medication and this doctor intentionally writes the Rx for a day past what’s legally supposed to be written. Legally, this is unethical and watching someone you love suffer from pain that’s beyond her control is heartbreaking. If you want to wait for relief that only medication can help, then please pay this doctor a visit. Otherwise, avoid this place at all costs. How he can get away with such nonsense is beyond me. My wife (Francoise Lenzi) and I had a visit with Dr. Cockrell about her need for pain management. He was terrific insofar as giving us all of the available alternatives available for her situation and gave us a brochure to read on her PT for the future. He said he was glad she is a new patient and would be happy to treat her in the future. He is a true professional and we look forward to our next visit if need arises.

Had a appointment today and on the way there I spilled coffee all over the place. Had to pull over and then when I made it to the appointment it took about ten minutes to find a parking spot, by the time I got into the office I was 20 minutes late. This has been my doctor for over 2 year's and I have nevet been kmate ir missed an appointment, but today i was told at the counter that I wasn't going to be seen after I drove 45 miles each way for this appointment. I explained to Tatum the office assistant exactly what happened and by then it was 30 minutes later. She went to the back and came back and said that the doctor is running behind so he won't be able to see you and rescheduled me for 3 months later appointment. Do these people realize that if your going to the doctor there is a reason or is it that they don't care? I believe they just don't care. I reviewed a call from his nurse the next day and she told me that the doctor would like for me to see the nurse practioner since I refused, because I've only been seen by him in the 2 years I now have a choice. I can see the practioner, wait unit October to see him with no medicine or fond me another doctor. You can tell me they don't fit people in. BUT I WILL BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO SPEND MY MONEY SOMEWHERE ELSE. THIS HAPPENS WHEN YOUR NO LONGER CONCERNED ABOUT YOUR PATIENTS WELFARE.
