About Dr. Walter S. Langheinrich
Reviews for Dr. Walter S. Langheinrich
He is the very best surgeon I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. He has fixed my back several times and I've been pleased with the results every time. My problem is progressive so one fix doesn't fix it.
Horrible,All he did holler and curse at me. Did not address my back problem.
he did spinal fusion from my brain to middle back i walked at first i walked slow deterieration now i am in a wheel chair wasting my young life in a nursing home if he wants surgery do not do it DO NOT GO TO HIM WISH I COULD SUE HIM FOR WHAT HE DID TO ME
Dr. Walter Langheinrich and his incredible team are some of the most intelligent, highly skilled surgeons in the world if you ask me. These are incredible people led by an unbelievably gifted neurosurgeon with decades of medical and surgical knowledge under his belt. On Oct 20 2019 I was Flown in by helicopter after a 24 foot fall from a tree stand left me with a fractured C-1 in my neck at the base of my skull, T1 thru T6 Vertebrae broken, A fisher crack in my sternum, 9 broken ribs, and a partially torn then clotted coratid artery. My risk of stroke during surgery was rather high so they devised a plan of different medications at different times over the course of days while they added 4 bags of blood in my body to help negate the risk of stroke during surgery by having maximum blood volume coursing through me. They also gave me multiple I.V. ports and had a response game plan ready to go in case things went south during surgery and a stroke occurred. What was to be about a 4 hour surgery ran just past 8 hours without any complication. I came out of that surgery with 2 titanium rods along each side of my spine measuring close to 1 ft long each from my neck down between my shoulder blades and screws drilled into T1-T6 Vertebrae that all had to be repaired and then set in place and screwed into with giant titanium screws. They used bone graft from my body as well as a life donor to help stabilize and promote new bone growth for the fusion process. I should never have been able to walk again but yet 2 DAYS after reconstructive spinal fusion surgery I was able to walk again with a walker and by day 4 I was walking so well I was cleared for discharge. I am now 3 weeks post operation as I write this. I am completely off all walking assistance device’s and starting to be on my feet like it’s a normal day. My pain level has been tolerable most of the time with small dosage prescription medications taken at regular intervals doing the trick. I’m slowly regaining more feeling every day as nerves continue to heal and respond in my spine. This wasn’t just a simple 2 or 3 vertebrae fusion. This man completely rebuilt a large section of my thoracic spine and did it so well that I can walk normal again less than 1 month after surgery. Does he have great bedside manner, no, not at all, but his team does and they worked very well together informing me and talking with me the patient. Does Dr. Langheinrich have brilliant surgical skills and intelligence beyond what most doctors do? ABSOLUTELY YES!! This is my life owed to them and my truth told about a Doctor and his team being one of the best surgical groups on this planet........Period Dr. Walter Langheinrich and his incredible team are some of the most intelligent, highly skilled surgeons in the world if you ask me. Not a good bedside manner I went there because my primary physician sent me My problem was my lumbar He operated in the thorax and said if I didn’t have the surgery I would not walk in 5 years the way things are right now I will probably not be walking in 2 years He also said that all of my other problems would be better. Wrong they are worse Never again will he touch my back All follow up are with the NP Which never told me anything I would never recommend this place !!!!! Gave me back my quality of living
Nice staff, good at getting in on time. Doctor Langheinrich is a very good doctor, straight forward and honest. I like that.
Excellent surgeon and an honest man. A little blunt at first but definitely cares about his patients and wants the best for them.
Excellent surgeon. He is extremely busy but he notices way more than you think he does. Definitely found my problem and fixed it.
His nurse Ellie was very rude and unprofessional. I asked to speak with Dr. Langheinrich but she refused. She told me he was a neurosurgeon and was too busy to call his patients. She kept calling me by my first name. She told me because I was her patient. I told I did not know her and was not her patient. She should not have contact with patients. Dr. Langheinrich may not have told her that and that may not be his attitude about patients. She cast a bad image about the doctor she works for
Excellent physician and Staffing. They listen and acknowledge what's going on with you and explain everything in detail, very personal. Also answers questions that you may have. Straight to the point.
He's very fast paced in the office, but when it comes time for your surgery, he'll take as much time as needed. My 6 hour surgery ended up taking 9! He is way beyond thorough and will absolutely take the best care of you. But, if you don't like being told exactly how it is (he's very blunt), I'd recommend a different surgeon. Me personally? I prefer someone with the skills to adequately and successfully perform my surgery over someone's bedside manner. I would recommend him to anyone! And if i need another surgery in the future, i hope he'll be the one doing it. He's very fast paced in the office, but when it comes time for your surgery, he'll take as much time as needed. He seriously has the worst bedside manner I have ever witnessed. He never listened and had no empathy. Was not helpful in any manner at all. Honestly the appointment was a waste of time in addition to how rude he was.

Dr. Langheinrich was outstanding.. I was in a bad four-wheeler racing accident and had to have 6 vertebrae fused together. I couldn't have asked for a better outcome. Doctor Langheinrich is phenomenal and I would recommend him 100%.
I saw Dr. Langheinrich for the first time in January 2017 and ultimately had surgery. I am so pleased with the outcome and have had no regrets. Everyone I've talked to notes that back surgery is iffy, but mine did what it was supposed to and I credit Dr. Langheinrich with how great I feel today.

Well after waiting 45 minutes in the waiting room then 15 minutes to see the doctor then 10 minutes at most with the doctor who didn't listen to anything I said and answered "mmm hmm" to everything. I'm not impressed. When I go back for a follow up I'll see if it's any different. If not then I'll be going to someone who wants to listen to how I feel versus someone telling me how I feel and not listening at all. FOLLOW UP: Much better. Still had a very rushed feeling but it was better. Dr Langheinrich is a neurosurgeon. He operated on me in 1995 & my husband twice in 2009 & 2010. Very skilled surgeon. He listens even when you think he is not listening. He knows what to take in and what to discard. He gets down to business. That is what you want in a neurosurgeon.

Dr. Langheinrich is top notch. He did a wonderful job with my ACDF surgery - he told me what he was seeing, what to expect with the surgery, how long it would take, and what the recovery would be like. He is straightforward and direct. Note that he seems rushed - in my case he didn't spend much time with me at my appointment, nor after surgery. I was ok with that, I was more concerned with his surgical skill than making nice. His office staff is efficient and pleasant; I would recommend.

Knowledgeable diagnostician that found a tiny cyst on my husband's spinal cord that other doctors couldn't find! The cyst was causing horrific pain prior to removal surgery. Forever grateful!

I had surgery six years ago and after going through a long time of recovery I am actually worse now than I ever was before. I was told that the procedure would better my life style and activity and it has only made it worse. If only I could undo this medical procedure I would, but the titanium in my back is there to stay. I live with chronic pain on a daily basis, and I am so tried of taking pain medicine. All I can say is think twice before having back surgery.
