Dr. Vicken Sahakian

By far Dr. Sahakian is the worst doctor I have seen. You wait in the waiting room for 1-1.5 hours. The reason for it is that they triple book patients per time slot. That should have been a red flag from the beginning. You can’t provide quality if you have 3 times more patients at any given day than it is supposed to be. I am 36 with low ovarian reserve. At the initial consultation he advised that I should try one-two times and give up and use donor eggs. I agreed to IVF cycle and he put me on birth control. After the consultation you will never be able reach Dr. Sahakian. I was concerned about taking birth control for 21 days because it suppresses ovaries greatly in women with DOR. I raised that concern to the coordinator and arranged the call with the doctor. He and coordinator forgot about the call, I had to remind them after an hour, he called and couldn’t remember who I was. He didn’t read my previous medical records and had no idea about my situation. When I stared asking questions about the protocol and birth control he said who is a doctor you or me? I decided to trust him as he is a DOCTOR. I took birth control for 21 days. That cycle I was supposed to get 11 eggs which is extremely a lot for me, normally it is 4-6 per cycle. He prescribed an agressive protocol after birth control as he was saying we have no time to waste in my condition. Agressive protocols don’t always work on women with DOR and if he read my medical records he would have know that it didn’t work for me in the past. Long story short 21 days on birth control, 7 days in high dosage drug injections, my ovaries shut down. Birth control shrunk them to 50% of the size, aggressive protocol made me dizzy and bloated with abdominal pain. He canceled my IVF cycle as a poor responder and now I am left with $17,000 wasted, lost 11 eggs in that cycle and have to wait for at least 90 days for my ovaries to go back to normal. To say I am devastated is to say nothing. I have never felt so disregarded for my health and financially used in my life. I am a human being and he is destroying my body, giving me less chances to get pregnant and is indeed wasting my time. This doctor is chasing after your money and nothing else l. He’s got fake reviews because nobody can say « he is so understanding and helpful, answered all my questions and was responding to all my emails» It is simply not true, he won’t even remember who you are!! Please do yourself a favor and don’t go to this doctor!
