Dr. Van Joseph Veloso

Generally a pretty knowledgeable physician but my only complaint would be his abrupt discontinuation of a drug I was taking that wreaked havoc in me because it's guaranteed to do so if one is suddenly taken off of it.

I've been seeing Dr. Veloso for several years and I find him to be a great listener, very personable and provides excellent care. I've recommended him to friends and they have agreed.

I have NEVER seen this dr before & never even heard of him yet I received a text from him saying “From Dr. VAN VELOSO: We care about your health. We will call and text you about needed care and info to manage your health conditions. Msg&data rates may apply. Text STOP to end texts. Para mensajes en Espanol, responda 'E'” Blocked the number & if he contacts me again, I’ll report him to the BBB. Talk about unethical! He’s like a texting ambulance chaser. BEWARE: Double-dosed my father's blood pressure medication making him dizzy and caused him to fall many times having to go to Holy Cross ER many times via ambulance until they finally realized his blood pressure dosage was twice the amount! DR. VELOSO IS A GREAT PHYSICIAN, VERY ATTENTIVE . I HAVE HAD HIM AS MY PRIMARY DOCTOR FOR 8 YEARS, I TRAVEL MORE THAN 50 MILES TO SEE HIM , AND WILL CONTINUE TO I TRUST HIM FULLY WITH MY HEALTH .

Would not listen to my roommate's concerns regarding her medical problems. Repeatedly rescheduled or canceled her appointments. Was absent from an appointment and forced her to be seen by a P.A. who wouldn't listen and tried to order a second CPap machine when she already had one and tried insisting on a second sleep study in spite of the fact that she was told to call in a prescription to increase the volume of air on her CPap machine. In fact, further treatment by another physician proved she does not suffer from sleep apnea and doesn't need a CPap machine. Totally ignored her repeated requests for a referral to her orthopedic specialist at the City of Hope for a very rare and serious bone disease; in fact treated it as the least important of her medical problems which has the potential to cause her specialist to have to amputate her leg. I was with her in the exam rooms during her appointments and found his care to be substandard; he seems more interested in the patients he does cosmetic surgery on vs the patients that see him for internal medicine. He is a joke. If you have a serious medical condition, he won’t continue to take you on as a patient. He just push my mom off to a NP, when she needs a familiar face during this time. Not only that, but when my dad needed to be seen they made me wait weeks! I had to push for his medical records to be transferred because Velso didn’t know what the hell he was doing or didn’t care. Being a doctor isn’t easy, so stop taking the easy way out Velso. I am very disappointed with how he has handled my parents. Zero stars should be more like it, I am being nice by giving you one star! He is a joke. If you have a serious medical condition, he won’t continue to take you on as a patient. He just push my mom off to a NP, when she needs a familiar face during this time. … More
