I found her like a talented politician rather than a responsible physician. She gave a generalized prescription to my wife where one of medicine wasn't for her. She don't have Lots of bitter experience at each steps. I think, it was a big mistake to choose "WashU" for IVF.

Dr Rats listens more than any doctor we have been to! She treats us with care and patience and thoroughly explains everything that is going to happen and everything that has happened. That way we make an informed decision each step of the way. I would highly recommend her!

She was amazing. She answered any question I had, told her expectations of what I needed to do, went into detail about what the process was and made my husband and I feel completely at ease. She doesn't seem to do a lot of follow up personally, but as she explained, if she shows up its serious. The staff she has surrounded herself with can handle it and I feel more than comfortable with that. I'm please to have had the opportunity to come to her office and get the help that I've needed. She spent over an hour talking through everything and making me feel incredibly comfortable. Her staff is amazing and so helpful. Not a fan of students, however it is a teaching hospital. Any time I've called about questions or insurance verification, they have been nothing but outstanding. I would recommend their office to anyone.

Dr. Ratts was amazing. She went above and beyond to help my husband and I to find out what had caused our fertility issues. She gave us the help and the hope of growing our family. I now have a 20 year old son who is an answer to our prayers. Thank you Dr. Ratts.

She was knowledgeable in her field, but was not personable and at times even talked down to us. I was very happy with the practice at the office, and would recommend other doctors at WU, but I would not recommend Valerie Ratts to anyone.

Our daughter had a genetic anatomic anomaly and found herself in significant pain. Dr. Ratts correctly diagnosed her problems and performed surgery to relieve her pain and give her the greatest opportunity for conception in her future (she was only 17 at the time). 6 1/2 years later, after only 3 months 'trying', she successfully conceived! We are elated! We are thankful for the correct diagnosis, pain relief, and now for the successful conception!

Dr. Ratts was great, but she did not perform any of the procedures. She set the medical care plan, but other physicians worked the plan. Scheduling is tough. Every attempt to call was answered by voicemail. After leaving a voicemail, you have to wait for someone to call back, which is hard when you can not answer the cell phone while at work.
