Dr. Ujwala Kaza

A waste of time.

I came to see Dr. Kaza for allergy testing. I requested environmental and food testing. Afterward, she told me that I had no allergies. Forward 1.5 years, I looked for my lab results to take to another doctor. It turns out Dr. Kaza never did environmental testing. Don't make the same mistake. Always look at your labs.

Dr Kaza is an amazing allergist who has been helping me with my allergy issues for few years now. Getting allergy immunization shots have been life changing. She is always responsive, cares for her patients, and never leaves out any detail that as a patient I have to be informed about be it my health or billing information. Highly recommend.

I recently visited Dr. Kaza, and I must say that I was thoroughly impressed by the level if care and professionalism I received. From the moment I walked into the office, I felt welcomed and at ease. Dr. Kaza listened to all of my concerns and answer questions I had, making me feel heard and understood. Overall, I had an excellent experience with Dr. Kaza and would highly recommend her to anyone in need of an allergist.

Dr Kaza is one of the worst doctors I have ever seen. A complete narcissist about her "diagnosis" and opinions while at the same time being completely in the wrong and misinformed on more than one issue. Incredibly rude. Demeaning and somewhat bullying in her mannerism. Look at her bio. She is not exactly Ivy League...or anywhere near it...it yet she made it very clear to me that thinks she is absolutely right about everything she says. She did not want to listen to me and actually interrupted me when I was speaking by subjugating me about what I was saying. I worry she could really hurt someone because she is so obtuse. I would not take her advice without a second or third opinion. Luckily I have a couple of other fantastic doctors and I did not listen to her or her advice. I will go elsewhere for an immunologist / allergist. In my opinion please stay away from this doctor especially if you think you have something that might be serious. Also, Dr Kaza, just so you have your facts straight: Researchers believe that HRAs work in long COVID, not by reducing the anaphylactic type of response, but by helping to keep the immune response down. They hypothesize that this is because of histamine blocking activity on the T cells. Mast cells may also have a role. AND Hives can last a variable amount of time. Usually, eruptions may last for a few minutes, sometimes several hours, but they can also last from several weeks to months in some cases. ALSO Ketotifen is a benzocycloheptathiophene derivative with potent antihistaminic and mast cell stabilizing properties which is being used for some people in managing long covid symptoms. It is legal in the US but you must purchase it on a Canadian pharmacy website. This is legal with a US prescription. Update: I have been on ketotifen for two months. My long covid symptoms of hives, swelling red and flushed skin, which could lead to anaphylaxis ( which I have had before ) have completely gone.

Dr.Kaza is fantastic. She is very knowledgeable and experienced in her specialty. I highly recommend seeing Dr.Kaza for all your allergy needs as she goes above and beyond for her patients. Listens to your concerns and provides the best advice.

I've been seeing Dr. Kaza for over 10 years now and she has, quite literally, changed my life. Growing up I had severe asthma, eczema and allergies and was hospitalized countless times. Once I started seeing Dr. Kaza, she started me on Dupixent and I have not had an issue since. I honestly feel completely healed. She's very personable, attentive and clearly knows what she's doing. I feel in great hands with her and I highly recommend anyone who has similar struggles as I had go to see her.

Just did a follow up visit and had a very good experience

I've been a patient of Dr. Kaza for over 10 years now across multiple practices. Her attention to detail, level of thoroughness, and genuine interest in my health have made me feel like an incredibly valued patient. Even when I'm only scheduled for a shots appointment, Dr. Kaza will make an effort to stop by to say hello and catch up to see how things are going. On top of it all, since I've become Dr. Kaza's patient, my allergies have seen dramatic improvement. I can finally be around dogs and cats and walk outside without itchy eyes, tightness of breath and constant sneezing. I feel incredibly indebted to Dr. Kaza, and I highly recommend going to see her if you also experience terrible allergy symptoms!

I’ve actually been a patient for over 10 years, with severe asthma, allergies, and a whole lot of other medical issues, but she has been a wonderful doctor who is definitely highly recommended. If you have allergies and/or asthma, look no further.

My visit went really well with this doctor. She was very knowledgeable and thorough. Eventhough I was late for the appointment, she spent time explaining everything to me and answered all of my questions. She even wrote down detailed instructions. She also asked me if I had questions and took the time to answer. She really listened to me and made me feel comfortable.

I just met with Dr. Kaza this afternoon for my yearly allergist visit. I have environmental allergies and moderate asthma. I've been getting allergy treatments for almost 6 years and regularly take an inhaler. Dr. Kaza (who I've not met previously) wanted to know this info, but kept cutting me off and preventing me from explaining. Then she listens to my lungs and makes me take a sample of a higher strength inhaler (despite me explaining that I simply forgot to take my inhaler for the past 2 days). I ask to rinse my mouth out (this type of inhaler is known to cause thrush if not rinsed out), and she gives me water, but didn't understand I needed to spit this water out (per the instructions). While I try to say this, she cuts me off and informs me she has many other patients and needs to go. I end up having to swallow this water (increasing my risk of thrush) and answer her because she didn't understand what I needed. Sorry to be such an inconvenience doc.

Dr give me appointments I went there 75 minutes drive I was late 30 minutes.dr did not see me.office staff are not nice.when I i make appointments did not talk about reparel from my primary doctor.when I am there they asked me reparel.they give hard times.I very disappointed.I miss my school and day.

She was perfect with my daughter!

I was lucky to have doctor Kaza as my allergy/asthma doctor for 6 years. I started seeing her in early 2015 and she started me on allergy shots for my dust/cat allergies and my allergy-related asthma. At one point I moved, and her office was a complicated commute for me, but I was determined to make it work because she was so fantastic. SHE then moved and there was no doubt in my mind that I were to follow her to her new practice (luckily it was closer). In all the years I have lived in NY, I haven't had a single doctor that I felt looked out for my health and well-being better than Dr Kaza. I've probably been in her office over a 100 (200? 300?) times and always had a great experience. I sadly had to move away from NY last year but my health is better than ever because of Dr Kaza. I used to get sick every month or two, but once I got my allergies under control under Dr Kaza's care, I almost NEVER get sick!! Awesome! My first visit with Dr. Kaza was incredible! I made an appointment and she actually held my time! I didn’t have to wait a minute past my appointment. I have met with so many allergist in the past and no one comes close to Dr. Kaza. My whole family has been seeing Dr. Kaza for years, including my children and husband. My son refers to her as his "favorite doctor". She is always great about answering questions we have. I had a great experience with Dr. Kaza and her office. She was very thorough and listened to everything I told her. I was impressed with the details she remembered when I went back in too. I brought my 7 year old to see Dr Kaza to get to the bottom of some allergy-like symptoms he was having. The entire experience wasn't great and it certainly wasn't child-friendly. I will put aside the run-down offices, long wait times and unfriendly staff to focus on our experience with the Dr. From the get-go, she was extremely unfriendly and immediately impatient and unkind with my son. He was understandably nervous about the tests she was going to perform and asked questions. She responded in an exasperated manner and told him, "It's no big deal, I do this on 6 month-olds all the time." He was reprimanded for putting his feet up on the giant exam chair that is not designed for small people and for borrowing a piece of paper and a pen from the desk to draw while we waited. He was nervous about her looking in his ears with the light (I'm guessing he's not the first child who has been?) and she immediately told him if he didn't cooperate, she was going to have him "held down" by her staff. She didn't even TRY to get him on board in a positive way or quell any of his fears. I gave her 2 stars because she is probably knowledgeable as a doctor, but her attitude, bed-side manner and just general manners were very problematic with both myself and my son. I'm thankful it was determined that he doesn't have allergies, for both his health and for the fact that I would definitely have not returned to Dr. Kaza and would have had to find a new doctor. I went to Dr. Kaza for an allergy test. She has an awesome bedside manner and was very comprehensive in her explanation of what the test is, how long results take, and then treatment plan. I was pretty lucky that my allergies are mild and she was able to tell me right away. She is well respected by office staff and everyone works well together. There are many fine physicians around. I know them both professionally and as a patient. But there is only one Ujwala Kaza. She is quite simply the best doctor who has ever cared for me. I started seeing her in 1/16 for uncontrolled, severe asthma as well as terrible eczema. I struck gold. She was relentless, trying multiple combinations of drugs (including five biological drugs) and protocols - everything possible to get me under control. She did just that. With each "tweak" I improved a bit more. It is now almost four years later and I have been allergy and eczema-free for much of the past 2-3 of them. She is both brilliant and caring. I cannot even estimate the time and effort she spent fighting insurance with insurance companies just to make sure I got the best possible treatment or how many times she called to check up on me when I was sick. Today was my first visit to her new office in Brooklyn. There was never any question that I would follow her there, even if it took me about the same amount of time that it would take to fly to Neptune. Doesn't matter. Dr. Kaza is by far the best physician I’ve had in NYC: she is smart, she truly cares about her patients, and she goes the extra mile to help navigate the frustrating insurance obstacles. I know when I see Dr. Kaza that she has listened to my concerns, and she will do all she can to truly help. We need more physicians who are this caring and committed.

I came in with dark marks on my legs thinking it was an allergic reaction. Dr. Kaza went through all the tests to rule anything out. She took good care of my needs and was so quick! I got to work on time that morning without any issues. The follow up was very easy and the results yielded no allergy after all. Great physician!

I am allergic to everything (environment, food, animals, meds, facial products, etc.) and she always takes SUCH good care of me. She embodies what healthcare should be - she takes time to listen to me, answers all of my questions, and gives me options for treatment. She even finds time to see me on the same day when I'm having a freak reaction (most recently to sunscreen I used). I HIGHLY recommend seeing Dr. Kaza! I seriously could not imagine facing my allergies without her and her team!
