Dr. Toni L. Mcmillan

Dr McMillan has been my psychologist since I was in late high school (4 or 5 years after my initial diagnosis), and I'm now in my mid-30s... literally half of my life! My parents immediately switched me from the mental health professionals who diagnosed me to Toni's practice after a hospitalization, and I am so lucky they found her! We've met weekly nearly the entire time, doing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to treat my severe chronic mood disorder, ADHD, and handful of anxiety disorders, adding supportive therapy as needed. It sucked at first; I remember a lot of worksheets. But by working with her, I was able to graduate high school on time (GPA intact), go away to college, maintain steady employment, pursue/develop personal interests, and maintain treatment compliance. I also work with a psychiatrist and have done chronic physical illnesses; unlike some doctors I've worked with over the years, Toni always wants to hear and takes into consideration my other doctors' input. She's always responded to and provided for any paperwork request I've made, is terrific about responding quickly, and consistently affirms she is available in case of an emergency (she is!). What's more, because of my experiences with different metal health practitioners, I am able to help overwhelmed friends who are seeking therapy for first time analyze if they feel their new doctor is professional, a good fit. Dr McMillan is my example of professional, a good fit.

Dr. McMillan was referred to me by another therapist who was working with my son. I will forever be grateful. Due to personal problems, it was a time when I was at a very low point in my life. I was struggling emotionally and filled with anxiety. I was finding it difficult to function on a day to day basis. I wanted to die. Dr. McMillan never gave up on me even though, at first, I found it hard to verbalize my feelings and talk openly to her. She chipped away at the wall I had built around myself. She helped me to become aware of how my own actions and thoughts affect my ability to cope. Thanks to her, I live a more fulfilling and fun life. She is a fair, forthright, honest, and trustworthy therapist. I highly recommend her.

Dr. McMillan has treated my PTSD for going over two years. I find myself blessed to have found such an amazing doctor. She has literally saved my life. I used to hide in my room, was scared to go anywhere. Now I’m back in college and none of this would have happened if I did not find such a wonderful doctor. I highly recommend Dr. McMillan to anyone that needs her specialties.
