Dr. Timothy Craig Wirt

Dr. Wirt did my L4 fusion in 2021 during COVID, I asked to have it done at a hospital and was told I would "be fine" at the surgery center since I was young (49). This was done as an outpatient procedure, even through my first fusion was a 5 day stay in the hospital 2 years prior. I asked several times if I could have it at the hospital and each time was told a reason why the surgery center was the best option. I was in pain and just wanting to have the surgery to relieve it. The evening of my surgery I had to be rushed to the back to the ER because of low blood pressure, I was admitted to the hospital because of this for 3 days. When I followed up with Dr. Wirt after I developed a seroma, he told me I won the patient award for being the most needy in the last 10 years. His staff was amazing, that is the only reason I am giving him 1 star.

Dr. Wirt is a very kind man. Even though I didn't see him for very long, I could tell that he does care about his patients and that he loves his field of medicine. He also has a great sense of humor. Again, while the meeting was brief, I highly recommend this surgeon.

Dr Wirt was wonderful when I first met him explained everything to me in detail. I had surgery on my L4andL5. After the surgery I was still in Excruciating pain and didn’t think that was normal especially when I was told that I would be pain free after surgery. I made an appointment with Dr Wirt 3 weeks post surgery because I was still in pain and couldn’t walk normal. Dr Wirt blew me off some of the comments that was said to me was very rude. I was made to feel like an idiot. I will never go back to see this doctor again i think it’s time he needs to retire.

Extremely knowledgeable, caring, thorough, attentive and he explained everything to me to the point I that I felt comfortable. He singlehandedly changed the course of my, post car accident, rehabilitation for my C2 cervical spine injury. I would recommend Doctor Wirt to any and all looking for an expert in spinal injuries, and who want a doctor who actually cares about their patients. I cannot say thank you enough for what Dr. Wirt has done.

I think some of the negative reviews above do not reflect his sense of humor. He told me he could fix my 30-year lower back problem with 20 minutes of surgery and he did. Didn't even need to take an aspirin afterwards. That was 11 months ago. He did a fantastic job.

Paid $278.00 for one visit that took 5 minutes. This guy just looked at me and said he needed me to get an MRI. If I would of known this I would of just got an MRI ordered from my regular dr. Waste of time and money.

Dr. Wirt performed spine surgery on me 2 years ago and it has worked completely well. No more sciatica pain!

My first experience with Dr. Wirt, over a decade ago was professional and courteous. My most recent experience was quite the opposite. As another reviewer said, he was very dismissive and seemed to be very uncaring. He didn't care why I was there. He just wanted me to leave. He wouldn't give me a chance to explain some of the trauma my back had gone through since my first visit over a decade ago. Several years ago, he had done my spinal surgery and it was a success. However, over the past decade I've had a few falls and one very bad blow to my back that may have affected the repair he had done. He never gave me a chance to explain any of this. It was clear he felt I was wasting his precious time. Even though I paid the copay and he gets to bill my insurance as well. He just didn't have time for me. He's become very jaded over the years I guess. He seems very uncaring. Maybe time to retire? There are many other doctors that care and will treat you with respect.

He was so callous & uncaring about my concerns! All he did was call me “ old”when he actually looks 10 years older than I do!!! I would not recommend him to anyone!!!!!

Dr. Wirt is an AWESOME neurosurgeon. He revised my first shunt August 2, 1981 then again July 20, 2007. Then did MY Laminectomy April 14, 2009. I’m 50 years old and ONLY 3 shunts.(COMPARED TO MULTIPLE). Thanks to the Skills of Dr. Wirt. I’ve been experiencing moderate headaches (stemming from a fall a year ago) Dr. Wirts bedside manner MAY NOT be the warmest. HOWEVER I OWE MY LIFE TO Dr. Wirt. I need to make an appointment soon. For an office visit ??

Extremely unprofessional. If you are under the age of 30 and presenting with serious back pain he will not take you seriously. I payed for him to not examine my back at all, just tell me I’m becoming a dull woman and that I simply need to exercise. He not even once looked at my back or asked about the serious symptoms I put on the registration sheet. He was condescending the entire time.

One star is one too many. He is the worst Dr. I have ever seen. He allegedly treats neck and back pain. He didn't even provide a physical exam. My daughter was referred to him by Pediatrician for a curvature of her spine and chronic pain. He was condescending, rude and dismissive. Terrible bed side manner. Don't waste your time or money seeing him. It's probably time for him to retire or go back to 1955. His recommendation: exercise more often, hang out with friends, stop being "a dull teen"

I read many of the reviews prior to my appt with Dr. Wirtz, so I thought that I knew what to expect from my appointment. I was totally unprepared for him to look at my MRI - which clearly shows 2 herniated discs as well as spinal stenosis, give me a strength test, which I failed miserably, then turn around and tell me that nothing was wrong with me and that he could do absolutely NOTHING form me. Then he turned around and said that I was stupid for considering fusion with another Dr.

He operated on me and the pain did not go away. At my follow up he told me I should be pain free and I didn't need to see him again. He then walked out if the office. He put in my records I looked great and could do all activities pain free. He is an arrogant man with no regard for his patient.

Very good experience, my Mother had surgery twice with Dr. Wirt and she thought very highly of him, he is very knowledgeable and treats patients with respect. Office staff is wonderful, go above to make sure everything is ready for your appointment!!

Dr. Wirt operated on me for a cervical issue that was unusual, so much so that I had to fight with my insurance company to authorize the surgery. The staff and Dr. Wirt helped me through that process and I was finally able to obtain authorization. I had surgery in mid November and my outcome is fantastic. I no longer have the chronic pain that I was living with for over one year. He did a great job for me and his staff and partners Dr. Turner, and Dr. Beard have been nothing but kind and helpful

Dr. Wirt is very professional and caring of you as a patient. I feel that he is truly genuine in his desire to help you get well. I have always felt a good Dr./patient relationship when I have needed him.

Dr. Wirt is very direct and does not beat around the bush. He is not a touchy feeling doctor but his surgical skills are excellent and I have improved drastically over how I was before the surgery. I would highly recommend him.

Dr Wirt is awesome! I had a large herniated disc with horrible sciatic pain. After my surgery I was immediately better and I was pain free within just a few days. Thank you so much for the great care!
