Tim Tollestrup, MD Won’t accept any kind of insurance as he thinks he is worth more than the allowable rates that most insurance companies reimburse! He thinks his services are worth $500 for an initial consultation! He in effect forces you to pay in cash the fee and then get reimbursed less or not at all from your carrier! 99205 is the CPt code and is less than the fee he demands! Tried to talk to office manager and they twist this as it’s the Fault of the medical rates that most doctors follow and is allowable! He has monopoly and is not following normal medical guidelines!

Run, don’t walk, away from this hack. He lied to me and then messed me up for life! Don’t make the same mistake I made! He caused irreversible damage to my head. He does not own up to the butchering he does to you and then you’re on your own, in agony.

I got absolutely no relief from the surgery for my horrible nerve pain. Did not even see him after waking in the surgery center had to text later to see how it went. If it can help some people that would be a blessing, but if it is just a profit from other people's pain that is just wrong. The exam in his office and talk of 80% relief was very encouraging but none of this came to pass.

Made me worse. Sells you a story and abandons you if you're not better, or worse, which was my case. Diagnoses you over the internet via email. Won't see you again after surgery. You can only email. Won't even do a telehealth visit. So promises you good results, takes the money and runs away. Tells you whatever went wrong is some other issue and you should see some other kind of doctor to fix your NEW problems that occurred after he butchered you. Stay away! That' my warning. I wish I had heeded the other one-star reviews I had seen. I chalked it up to sour grapes. BIG MISTAKE! Run, don't walk, away from this hack!

Stay away. He’s not a good surgeon. He’s desperate for customers. Tells anyone in my opinion who contacts him that he can help. Makes promises he can’t keep. Blames every other doctor under the sun that you ever saw for HIS failure.

My life is FAR WORSE after having my Piriformis muscle removed by Tim Tollestrup.

I found Dr. Tollestrup MD, to be friendly, patient and understanding of my issue. He is a great peripheral nerve surgeon. His staff was great and knowledgeable. He was very easy to visit with and his bedside manner was perfect. After surgery called to check on me and made sure I had his number just in case. I would recommend very highly.

Excellent knowledge of the peripheral nerve terrain. Very thorough consultation. I'm still processing my surgical outcome. I'm confident that if the outcome is not optimal, the next one will be as I am very impressed with this doctor!

My husband has suffered severe back pain for almost ten years. Several minor surgeries and two major ones. All failures. He's worse than ever. Surgeons say the surgeries are perfect! Found Dr. Tollestrup on Internet. Drove five hours to see him. Great visit. First doctor who actually took the time to thoroughly examine him and get a thorough pain history. Spent more than an hour with us. Sent him for nerve blocks into the nerves he diagnosed as the problem ones. Right after those - no pain!! Of course they were just to diagnose, not permanent. Now we go back for procedure to snip the nerves. We are so hopeful - very, very impressed with Dr. Tollestrup.

First, the staff is professional, helpful and kind. In my 40 years of seeing a myriad of physicians, Dr. Tollestrup is by far and wide in a class all his own! I had a crush injury 21 years ago leaving me crippled and diagnosed with CRPS (the highest rated pain in the Mcgill Pain Scale). The only other diagnosis given to me was peripheral neuropathy, which was later changed to CRPS. Dr. T gave me the correct diagnosis of Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome, after the most thorough exam I've ever had! He operated on both ankles and I AM NOW PAIN FREE!! As another patient stated, "Dr. T is the Sherlock Holmes of finding the peripheral nerves causing pain!" Patients come from all over the world to see him. There is no one in the USA doing what he is doing. He himself is wanting other surgeons to not just operate for functionality, but instead TO OPERATE TO RELIEVE PAIN AND RESTORE FUNCTIONALLY! He has a BRILLIANT MIND, COMPASSIONATE SPIRIT AND A SKILLSET GIVEN BY GOD!

Dr Tollestrup is a miracle Dr for me. I no longer have burning nerve pain. I can’t thank him enough for his knowledge and wonderful bed side manner. Still have more surgeries to get done. I know I’m in trusting caring hands. His office staff is very welcoming and helpful, So was the surgery center. I highly recommend him to anyone suffering with nerve pain.

Before working with Dr. Tollestrup I was taking a variety of pain medications. I was not able to work and was on disability. I had no hope for improvement and was in terrific pain on almost a daily basis, which was depressing. After consulting with Dr. Tollestrup and having two procedures with him, I take some anti-inflammatories and supplements for sensitivity and soreness. I am back at work and feel optimistic and hopeful about my progress.  My level of discomfort has reduced dramatically, which allows me to be more active and comfortable in my day-to-day life. I am grateful to Dr. Tollestrup for his excellent care. If you have a nerve problem I recommend that you contact Dr. Tollestrup’s office. Doctor Tollestrup is a master of peripheral nerve surgery. He possesses an uncommon knowledge of nerve anatomy and is dedicated his entire practice to finding and eliminating his patient’s nerve pain. Orthopedists, neurosurgeons, neurologists, and physical therapists cannot do what he does.

Dr. Tollestrup evaluated my condition of pain, numbness & walking dysfunction. He then performed Piriformis Syndrome surgery to remove my piriformis muscles on both sides. It was my experience that Dr. Tollestrup seems to care about patients as “individuals” - who they are and what’s important to them as real people. Dr. Tollestrup is generous with his time in discussion and answering questions. Dr. Tollestrup seems to understand the importance of Urgency for the patient. Time is important and Dr. Tollestrup clearly understands that delays in treatment cost time in my life. There was no wasted time in getting to the fix of my pain and the cause of that pain and dysfunction. After seeing numerous neurologists and spine surgeons, Dr. Tollestrup was clearly different and changed my life for the better. Now I have a future. It’s taking time and patience to heal; but Dr. Tollestrup put me on that path and I’ll be eternally grateful to him and his staff for their skilled competent care!

My Son after having a surgical procedure, had horrible pain down his leg. We later found out that one of his nerves was damaged during surgery. Local doctors were not sure what to do with him and sent him to pain management. This was not going to be an option or road that I wanted him to go down. A friend gave me Dr Tollestrups information and I contacted him on Messenger. Within an hour he contacted me, talked to me about my son and immediately knew what the problem was. Within a couple days we were in Vegas having surgery, he was walking days later! I will forever be grateful and indebted to Dr T for everything he has done for my son, for giving him his life back. Now my son is going into the medical field so that he may help others the way he was helped! Thank You Dr T!!!

Unfortunately the Piriformis surgery I had with Tollestrup did not help.

I had been suffering with neuropathic pain radiating down my leg and into my foot for several years. I had been to several doctors prior to Dr. Tollestrup and no one was able to offer any help. After reading about Dr. Tollestrup in the newspaper I submitted my history and was given the green light to make an appointment. I appreciated that he reviewed my case prior so that his time and my time would not be wasted if he couldn't help me. My first appointment was about an hour and a half long. I've never received such an intense and thorough neural exam. Dr. Tollestrup patiently went through my long complicated history, listened intently to my concerns and examined me in great detail. His report was very comprehensive. He was also cautious in the plan of care, wanting to make sure his diagnosis was correct. He ended up removing a portion of my piriformis muscle which was impinging on my sciatic nerve. I have had a lot less pain and feel a great deal of gratitude to Dr. Tollestrup!

Dr. Tollestrup is the best around. He explains everything to you so you can understand what’s going on. He an his office staff are fantastic, friendly an professional. I would highly recommend him with hesitation.

I had lost almost total strength in my hand and and hand had significant numbness and pain in my arm and hand. Dr. Tollestrup diagnosed the problems and corrected the nerve problems with surgery. Within a matter of a few months I was able to resume normal activities. I highly recommend Dr. Tollestrup.

While traveling the country in our RV the pain in my left hand had become unbearable. I had this pain on and off for years and previous civilian and VA doctors could not properly diagnose the issue. Our experience with Dr. Tollestrup was wonderful. My husband had a terrible car accident and had 11 surgeries but was still in alot of pain. His pain is not gone completely and never will be, but Dr. Tollestrup did more for him in one surgery than others did in many. He is an amazing surgeon.

Dr. Timothy Tollestrup saved my life. My pain was so severe, I almost took my life. My Army & V.A. doctors accused me of lying & exaggerating my pain. After 13 years of extreme & intractable chronic pain due to combat injuries sustained in Afghanistan by a massive road side bomb; I was left severely debilitated & crippled with pain. Dozens of surgeons, useless injections, & procedures all failed to stop my pain even though I was examined by over 20 neurosurgeons. Incredulously, Dr. T. was able to diagnose me within minutes of my examination! He surgically removed my permanently injured Piriformis Muscle and “disconnected” a severely crushed nerve called a “Posterior Femoral Cutaneous Nerve”. I have been evaluated by some of the top neurosurgeons in the country and not a single one of them came remotely close to diagnosing me correctly. Amazing experience with Dr. Tollestrup. If you have nerve pain, he's the one doctor that can figure it out and take the pain away. Keep an open mind because some nerve pain patients may have more than one problem. Once a problem was fixed I felt pain from another nerve because I was severely damaged. If you have surgery and pain comes back or you feel a different pain you have another nerve problem going on. Study the body's peripheral nerve branches and you'll see there are many and they can be close together. Stay mentally strong through your healing process, don't give up and let the pain take over your mind and make you think that these surgeries don't work, because they really do. Trust the process, it works!! He educates his patients, so they know exactly what the process is. There really is a healing side with Dr. Tollestrup! Finding him was a miracle from God!

Dr. Tollestrup left my wife in debilitating pain after his surgery. Before his surgery she only had to take a couple of pain pills a week. After his surgery and ever since she has had to be on pain medication 24/7. Doctors have stated the damage he did is a reversible. He changed our families lives forever. I first saw Dr Tollestrup a year ago for severe chronic pain that I believe was related to some nerves. I highly recommend Dr Tollestrup as he's only one of two doctors out of many who thoroughly listened to my concerns. I never, ever feel rushed when I'm with him and I can tell that he truly cares and has compassion for those who are hurting. I had one surgery with him in June to disconnect two different nerves and am going back next week for another. In addition to Dr. T being a superb physician and surgeon, he has the best staff a doctor could ask for. They are so kind and caring, and promptly return phone calls and e-mails. Highly recommend !!

Dr. Tollestrup surgery left me bedridden, my only option now is to go with spinal cord stimulator to mask the nerve damage he did.My pain is off the charts after his procedures, my pain was not that bad and manageable before I let him do his surgery. Please do not go to this doctor!

Tollstrup make it a point to berate other physicians. He did this with me and other patients. Must make him feel superior but in fact it is my opinion that he is below average in his field. He failed to correct my nerve problem and it looks as if others had the same issues.

Dr. T is the most resourceful and caring doctor I have ever seen. He shoots it straight and doesn’t sugarcoat anything. His exams are so thorough, will answer any questions you ask and explain in detail. His office staff is friendly and very professional. He doesn’t push you into surgery. I knew after talking with him on the phone and pm, he was my answered prayer. Dr. Tollestrup removed my Piriformis Muscle after 6 years of pain. I’m Pain free and living life again!!!

Dr T did the most thorough exam I believe I have ever had. His bedside manner can't be beat especially for a surgeon. And I have never known a surgeon to follow up so well and keep working on ongoing problems to get them solved. I am piriformis pain free and working on other nerve issues to go back to him. Would recommend him to any and all!

Dr. Tollestrup was suppose to do decompression of my frontal nerves in my head. Instead he decided to cut them. He did not ask my husband who was in the waiting room. Nor did he ask the referring Dr. He could of stopped what he was doing, wake me up and then talk about options. Now i have severe nerve pain with severe migraines. I'm 35 and disabled because of his malpractice. Please if you need a Dr. Look somewhere else. Look out of state. This man could end up ruining your whole life.

I would never recommend him. As a matter of fact I would rather have a surgery from blind person on a ship in the middle of the ocean in a hurricane. He completely disabled my wife. He performed a supraorbital decompression and instead of decompression he cut her nerves now she lives in constant pain. We had a number of specialists say that's exactly what you never do. There is no fix now our 8 kids 3 bio, 5 adopted have a mom who spends most of her days in bed. Malpractice malpractice horrible

If he operates the way he runs his office I would be cautious. I called for days. Sometimes someone would pick up the phone and hang up. Upon calling back I would get the answering machine. After leaving countless messages and never receiving a call back, I resorted to calling nonstop. Finally I spoke with Mickey and pleaded my case. Days went by and I received a call from Kala. I immediately call back having just missed the call in moments and got the answering machine. Called nonstop. Horrible

I had HORRIBLE nerve pain through the whole lower part of my right leg, especially my foot!. After visiting Dr. Tollestrup and having the first exam he knew right away what needed to be done, and that he was certain he could make my pain go away. Honestly I thought I was going to have to live with this pain for the rest of my life, every other doctor said that nothing could be done. I could barely walk!! I had the surgery, 1 week later I'm walking around with NO PAIN!! This guy is the real deal

This Dr started off as good, however I had continued pain after surgery when it was mentioned he became rude & dismissive. He showed that he has a God complex & questioned everything I told him. I was told that I was faking & making excuses & I don't have pain & can stand all day. Suddenly he was an expert at my job. Apparently if I worked in a different dept at work I could avoid the pain. I would still have to stand & walk. I was put down multiple times after that. My foot pain didn't matter!

Dr. Tollestrup has remained tenacious at getting me back on both feet. I've suffered in agony until I found him. I highly recommend him and the gals in his office are fantastic. I highly recommend Dr. Tollestrup and his staff. Another great plus, I've never had to wait longer than 10 minutes to see him. Phenomenal surgeon!

This doctor is a miracle worker! My leg pain is 98%+ gone since my surgery in September 2015. Great staff and everyone was very helpful.

Dr.Tollestrup was rude and biased towards me from the moment I crutched-it through the door,because of the Dr.who referred me to him.I have read a lot of other reviews about him,and they are nothing what I experienced with him.He has a God complex,and questioned everything I told him,made me feel like I didn't know what I was talking about,and put down the Dr's who have done surgery on my foot.A week before my surgery,he cancelled b/c I didn't want the TTS surg redone.Oh & his secretary told me!

I had surgery in July of 2015, I live in Washington and he did an outstanding job my pain was gone in 5 to 6 weeks. On the other hand my Dr did not no how to treat it our corispond with Tollestrup so he placed me in PT and my nerve got pissed off so here I go another surgery to be taken to fix another persons neglect.. I would recommend Tollestrup to anyone!!

I was so excited to visit with dr tollestrup and get hope that my pain would be resolved. I traveled from Montana to Vegas and he did the surgery after a full assessment and I went back to Montana. It's been just over 3 months and I don't know if I'm still healing or the surgery was a fail, but my pain is back with vengeance. I have txt the Dr and have had no response. He had told to keep him posted on my healing. I guess he is just busy.
