Dr. Charlton is a consummate professional, excellent surgeon and really sweet, compassionate doctor. I felt completely safe with him as a surgeon and can highly recommend him!

One of THE best doctors I have experienced in my life! Dr. Charlton is patient, caring, thorough, and great at explaing all diagnosis and proceedures. I've had 2 very successful surgeries with him & completely trust his judgement. He also has one of THE BEST bedside manors. He's wonderful!!

Dr.Charlton has been my doctor for a few years, early this year he told me I was a good candidate for surgery, so I was scheduled to have surgery on July 23rd, 2021 They told me do not eat nor drink anything after 7 pm the night before, I didn’t, they asked me to come to the hospital at 10:30 am, I did, it’s 2:50pm I don’t see my doctor, nurses and anesthesiologist were there super nice, keeping my company, in and out busy, so I keep waiting, I’m beginning to fell weak, dehydrated, I’m so thirsty and hungry, finally I told a nurse how I was feeling, and I also told her I couldn’t wait any longer, she Rushed to tell dr. Charlton, so finally 3:10 pm he comes to tell me it will be another hour of wait! With no mercy nor apology, I got up, got dress and asked the nurse to removed the iv needle, she did ( I never got and I V liquid just the needle) I must go I’m dehydrating, the nurse brought me water and juice, and she was sorry I had to experience that. So I left!!! Los Angeles California has been super hot, drinking water was a must! I’m not sure what to think about this Doctor? I do not recommend him at all!! He does not have any mercy for humans! That’s the only thing I can say! After that experience I went to see another doctor and he told me to do physical therapy first and if that does not work try injections, if nothing else works then consider surgery. Dr Charlton is one of the best doctors I’ve ever met. His office administration is also a top notch operation. He truly cares about his patients and clearly discusses diagnosis and treatment options. I went into his office hopeless regarding my foot and walked out feeling confident I was in good care.

Dr. Charlton is one of a kind, he is a Saint! He is the greatest Doctor on the face of the earth. He took care of my Achilles tendon that was completely ruptured. There is no one better than Dr. Charlton when it comes to his field. If you suffered an unfortunate experience in his office, I could positively assure you it was not Dr. Charlton; it might have been one of his knowledgeable staff or a team member. Dr. Charlton is one of the most amazing doctors I’ve seen. Not only is he knowledgeable and competent, but he is always so patient and happy to answer my questions and address my concerns. He and his entire staff go above and beyond and clearly have a passion for helping people. Dr. Charlton has an amazing bedside manner and is empathetic and compassionate. Dr. Charlton performed surgery on my foot that was severely injured in an auto accident 7 years ago. He was very kind and caring as well as professional. It's been 7 years and I have not any problems. I am forever thankful to Dr. Charlton.

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Charlton. When he saw that my Achilles tendon was a mess after years of bone spur damage, he convinced me that surgery was the only option. I have done lots of other treatments with other doctors, but surgery truly was the only option. Dr. Charlton is incredibly compassionate and has an excellent bedside manner. Makes an unbearable situation so much better.

I damaged my ankle in a fall and walked on it for three years because of misdiagnosis at the ER. When I finally got tired of the pain my local orthopedists recommended an ankle replacement which they warned would probably not last my lifetime (I’m 63) even if it “took” . I called USC for a referral and was given contact info for Dr Thordarson and Dr Charlton as (per USC)they have more experience than even the docs at USC. My experience with Dr Charlton was amazing. He was confident he could fix my ankle with good results by cutting out some bad bone putting in “new “ bone and some other skilled surgical processes that I don’t remember at the moment. I had surgery 6/2018 and today 11/2018 I’m walking 5ks hiking and doing 8-10k steps daily with almost no discomfort. Whatever “twinges” that I have are from being 63 and active and probably not related to surgery. I have gone from each step hurting to zero pain and I can’t tell you how grateful I am. From my mom Hilda ! Few months before I needed an expert surgeon to fix my painful, complicated and misshaped right foot . Luckily I found this Brilliant,Skilled and caring surgeon. He would listen to me carefully, answered all my questions clearly and explained whatever I wanted to know with patience. Pre and post operation was really well done and organized. Dr. Charlton's approach is extremely thorough. He takes time with you to discuss all options. Support staff is extremely friendly. Highly recommend! Will be making an appointment with him for my daughter.

Great doctor! He is very much to the point and very comforting. Highly advised him to anyone. I called the office for another doctor and I end up with him since he had an opening and I can not express how satisfied I was after my visit with him. Highly recommended.

Dr Charlton is repairing my torn Achilles' tendon. My experience with Dr Charlton has been incredible. He is gifted in the technical aspects of medicine to be sure. He is also a deeply compassionate human being who relates to his patients on that level. He is not one of those surgeons who believes surgery is the answer for everything. He explained everything to me, he laid out the timetable for recovery and then encouraged me to take my time to decide. I felt heard and cared for...not just a case to be shuffled through. I broke my ankle in 4 places in January 2018. I honestly have never had such a positive experience with any dr office and doctor as I have had with Dr Charlton. He did surgery to repair ankle with plates and screws. Wonderful bedside manner. Explained everything thoroughly. My recovery going great. All staff also friendly and professional. Highly recommend Dr Charlton!

Dr. Charlton is awesome. He performed surgery on my foot that several other surgeons were too afraid to perform. My recovery was slow but I can walk without a limp and still ride my skateboard. Great staff too. Highly recommended!

Dr. Charlton is an amazing surgeon with incredible bedside manners. I was very nervous about my Achilles surgery. He explained what happened, what my options were, and how we could proceed. I didn't feel pressured at all to have surgery. He was very honest about the benefits of not doing surgery and left it up to me. Before the surgery and afterwards, my experience with him has been nothing but incredible. I wish all doctors could be like him. And he just seems like a great guy!

I was lucky to have been assigned to Dr. Charlton after I fell down the stairs in my townhouse - breaking my 4th metatarsal in three place (as well as severely spraining both ankles). In October 2016 Dr. Charlton did a simple and routine surgery on my big toe - Akin osteotomy. The surgery was a failure, and I need another surgery. Other than this - nice bedside manners and expensive.

Dr Charleton made such a positive difference in my recovery. I had suffered so long from a misdiagnosis by another doctor. He's very kind and patient explaining what is wrong and answering my questions. Thanks Doc!

I hurt myself at work and completely ruptured my Achilles tendon, I visited several doctors before I met Dr. Charlton. He is truly a Saint, he's the greatest, he has great bedside manners, and I can't say enough about Dr. Charlton. I was scared to death of surgery, this was my first surgery ever, a major. I went to SCOI, Kerlan Jobe etc. No one even comes close to him. He is one of a kind, it was a miracle the day I met him. He has a great sense of humor, I trust him with my life.

I feel very well taken care of and comfortable with Dr Carlton. He is very knowledgable and efficient combined with with just the right amount of friendliness and humor.
