Dr. Thomas F Young

I saw Dr Young, because about 2 years ago; I had no or very little motivation and I was aware that I was depressed. This was brought on by the current state of this country. And for various reasons, I was not moving forward. Dr Young was so very supportive. He calmly listened and showed real care and concern. This helped me with each session. It was one day at a time and it was getting better. Finding a new way to look at things with the guidance from him was bring results. His calm smiling demeanor was a great support. I recommend him to help anyone to move forward with their life with a better attitude.

From the first session of Dr Young, I started to feel better. He really carefully listen to all I stated. I felt that there was care and concern to help move me along. I had been experiencing depression, which caused a big lack of motivation because of my work in the arts and the state of this country. I was letting the scary times push me in this bad direction. Each session, I felt better and knew that I was on the right path. The kind voice and warmness from him pushed me forward with each visit. Through his guidance and support I was able to move ahead and take a different look at the problem areas. I never felt rushed but only experienced his concern and help in leading me to a better place. I really recommend him.

Unfortunately Dr. Young was not able to help me, even though I saw him often and regularly, because my mental distress stemmed from marital disharmony which had been going on for a decade. I clearly stated I believed that my problems were rooted in the sever unhappiness I was experiencing in my marriage, but for whatever reason, these problems were not directly addressed head on. I was at a breaking point (really a nervous breakdown) and at my worst, I needed him to advocate for me, but he was unable or unwilling to do this. So may be he is good for some patients, but it was a poor fit for my problems. The last time I saw him, I was clearly distraught and needed help, but when I did not come back for treatment with no explanation, he never even emailed or phoned to make sure I was ok. I found that shocking because I had seen him a couple times a week for several weeks, and I was in tears when I left his office, but he didn't blink when there were no more visits. I was very surprised that he did not seem concerned that I was not getting further help when I needed it so much.
