Once again, this doctor has just blown my daughter off. She is 32 and just ended her fight with cancer a few months ago. Thank God she is in remission. However, she immediately went from cancer to issues with discs in her back, requiring an operation. She was in the hospital for several weeks due to this issue and also waiting to have surgery once recovery from the cancer treatments allowed. This is completely understandable as her body levels have to be at certain points to move forward with a safe surgery. However, since she has been ready to go for the surgery, she keeps having her appointments moved further and further out. Because of these re-schedules, she was let go from her job three weeks ago. They said they just couldn't wait any longer for her to be able to return. And now, today, she calls me in tears, letting me know this doctor's office just called her and told her he is dropping her as a patient. AND SHE HAD AN APPOINTMENT SCHEDULED FOR TOMORROW TO FINALLY CONSULT ABOUT THE SURGERY!!! She was so happy and very much looking forward to that appointment. What kind of compassion is that from someone who claims to care about their patients? Not to mention... where is his integrity? He very well may be an incredible surgeon, maybe even the best around, but he seems to be a horrible person who should be ashamed of himself.

Dr. Rapacki is a knowledgeable, meticulous neurosurgeon. We’ve experienced his expertise through multiple brain surgeries and would recommend him to anyone. He definitely cares about the health of his patients. Ingrid Patton, his PA is so attentive and thorough in explaining things. Lastly, Janet Field, his nurse navigator is a blessing. Always positive, Janet brings a calming reassurance and presence as one goes through their health journey together. Dr. Rapacki is a knowledgeable, meticulous neurosurgeon. Dr. Rapacki is a surgeon so I didn't expect a super great bedside manner. He was decent, did not really explain the reason to send me somewhere else so I am going to the referral he sent just out of curiosity. To be honest I would not go back because it was mainly a consultation anyway.

My review keeps being taken off of here. If I could leave a minus star, I would. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH DR. RAPACKI! Rude, doesn't care what you need. Told me my MRI's were too blurry to read therefore he could not tell me what was wrong. He was referring me somewhere else for another MRI. Yet the person referring me to Dr. Rapcki read them well enough to know it was urgent for me to get something done. The neurosurgeon I went to yesterday said the images were very clear, much clearer than many he sees.

Dr. Rapachi is rude, disrespectful, demeaning, and does not care about his patients. He already has an opinion formed, will not listen and interrupts when you are trying to explain or correct him about very important near death experiences regarding medications.

He was blunt and to the point. I asked if I could ask him a couple questions, he let out the biggest sigh and said yeah. Didn't really explain my issue, other than if I need surgery it would be high risk, not sure what it entailed, he didn't advise what the risks were and what to be concerned of. I'm dinging him on that, I was wheel-chaired in, and could barely get on and off the exam table, he had about as much compassion or concern as the walls in the room... I take that back, the walls would have helped me if I lost my balance. My visit was not long at all. The staff was very friendly and helpful though. Certainly not personable, or I didn't meet up to his standards.

Rapacki saved my son's life! He was in a horrible car accident and wasn't expected to survive. He doesn't sugarcoat what's going on, but informs you of all the possibilities. We are thankful for his knowledge!

Dr.Rapacki is a phenomenal surgeon. His competence is complemented by his communication and bedside manner. I've read other comments about his competence is more important than his bedside manner; yet I've found him, & his team, to be complete care that is well rounded

Dr Rapacki is straight forward and answers my questions but I only get information asked so it’s difficult ?? get good understanding of a total care plan and future progress for care.

IT TAKES FOREVER TO GET AN APPOINTMENT. I HAVE BEEN WAITING OVER 6 WEEKS FOR A FOLLOWUP APPOINTMENT. I AM PARTIALLY PARALYZED IN LOWER EXTREMITIES. I NEED BACK SURGERY AND THEY SEEM NOT TO CARE. IF THEY HAVE SUCH SHORTAGES THEY HIRE MORE DR.'S.

In October I had a subdural hematoma which Dr Rapacki treated. His response time was superior. Due to other conditions, and the fact that my situation was not critical, he treated the other conditions while monitoring me, ready to do the surgery & manage the conditions should I have gone critical. His team kept my family informed throughout the surgery & all of my follow-up appointments were thorough where he answered all my questions

Rude, belittling, arrogant, found nothing wrong and questioned why we were there. Wife is going in for treatment with another doctor who was caring.

Found him to be rude and arrogant. Was scheduled to get a MRI but will not because of his arrogance. He can take my copay and get a book on how to be a decent human. Acted irritated that he had to deal with a peasant like me. He may be qualified medically but needs to brush up on his people skills. I worked in employee relations at Anheuser Bush and Bechtel Engineering and If I treated people rudely I would have been fired. Being a doctor does not make you special.

Dr. Rapacki doesn't have the best bedside manner. I honestly don't care about that. I care about competence. He is an exceptional neurosurgeon and he did an excellent job on my c6 c7 fusion surgery. I am pain free (one year post op) and can pick up my son and daughter. Like I said, he doesn't have the best bedside manner but if you are looking for someone who is good at their job, he is the Dr. for you. Dr. Rapacki doesn't have the best bedside manner. My husband was in an auto accident that caused damage to two vertebrae's and herniated discs in his neck. He performed an extensive 11 hour surgery on my husband's neck (had to go in front the front and back) to stabilize the spine. Very detailed, clear and explained easy for us to understand.

I'm interested into why my original review was either blocked or deleted. People need to know the TRUTH about this doctor. I had two visits with Dr Thomas Rapacki and it was the worst experience ever with a medical provider. On both occasions his office called on the actual due date to inform me they would have to re-schedule me. The last time I was driving on the way to my appointment. His staff member called me telling me he was on call & they would have to change my appointment. I was furious. I informed his staff that I had scheduled time off from work & they better find some way to fit me in that day. They squeezed me in that day, but I had to drive all the way to Tulsa to see him. Then when I finally got to see Dr Rapacki, I tried to explain what the problem was & even brought him copies of all my medical records from all the other specialist I had been referred to throughout my whole ordeal, trying to seek a solution. He just sat there saying "uh-hum" over and over. Not once did he look me in the face to acknowledge my presence. At the end he simply stated there was nothing he could do from his perspective. No recommendation or anything. I was so furious. I looked at him and said "This has been a total waste of my time, gas and money" and walked out. His whole attitude was very arrogant. When he did speak to me, it was like he was above me & I was below his feet not worthy of his attention. I would never recommend this physician. Years later I am the one that discovered that I suffer from a TRUE illness called Gulf War Illness, related to my service during Desert Storm / Desert Shield. Dr Rapacki where is your compassion for the patient? I'm interested into why my original review was either blocked or deleted. People need to know the TRUTH about this doctor. … More

I totally agree with you. He was trained as a military doctor. That is how military doctors treat active duty soldiers because they do not need to be concerned with being sued. He Bold Faced LIED to me about my cervical spine mri when I had already seen it and wanted to discuss what it showed. Do NOT trust him. He has medical knowledge, which is worthless because he treats his patients like they are STUPID, which is how the majority of military doctors treat active duty soldiers.

I could not sit or walk without extreme pain when I was referred to Dr. Rapacki. I needed surgery and put my trust in him based on his qualifications, experience and abilities in this specialty. It was life changing when the surgery was a complete success and I was able to walk pain free. During my hospital stay I learned that he is highly regarded by all the medical staff as well. I can’t say enough how grateful I am to have had him as my physician.

Arrived by ambulance in the middle of the night with a crushed vertebra. Pretty scary stuff. Dr Malone met me at 2 AM to discuss the case, told me my options, and actually counseled AGAINST surgery, because my injury would basically heal on its own. What surgeon votes AGAINST the extra cash from another surgery?? Very friendly and professional nurses, even when I was being a baby about the pain. Great PT staff. The MRI crew took a long time to get to me, but I hear that’s common everywhere. Even the food was eatible. Very good experience all around. I hope I never need to be in a hospital again, but if I do, I’ll go to St Johns. Arrived by ambulance in the middle of the night with a crushed vertebra. Pretty scary stuff. I've never met a doctor that was so rude and dismissive of his patients. He talks down to staff and no nurses especially, making them break down in tears, yet only gets a slap on the hand because "that's just how he is". He walks around being a complete jerk to staff, it's unacceptable, completely inappropriate and should not be tolerated!! Rude!! DO NOT RECOMMEND! get some manners and watch how you talk to others.

I had heard great things about his abilities, but as a person he has no conscious. He totally wasted our time by accepting an appointment to see us, knowing that he would not take on the case. Professional courtesy they call it, where he will not work on a patient that another surgeon had already worked on. That is fine, but his office asked us to bring the surgery report, when they should have told us he would not take the case. Don't bother with this man unless it will be your 1st surgery.

Absolutely trust what Dr. Rapacki recommends. His care, along with Ingid, while I was hospitalized was assuring and I felt like he really was aware of how I felt and was working to relieve the awful post op nausea. My recovery has been amazing, and I have not needed pain medication for almost a year. I highly recommend him!
