I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Thomas Higgins! He was fabulous! I fell & broke my left hip. By ambulance I was taken to the closest Utah County hospital. The doc who operated on me put the WRONG hardware in and I couldn't even walk & was in much pain 6 weeks later when I saw Dr. Higgins for a 2nd opinion. During his operation on me he removed my defective hardware and put in the RIGHT hardware. He corrected the problems from the first doc (knock-kneed, 1 inch too short) and now I can walk without a cane and am free of pain 5 mths after that 2nd surgery. Dr. Higgins is SO skilled! He is SO compassionate! He is humble and wonderful. I highly recommend Dr. Thomas Higgins!!

Dr. Higgins made time to see me between surgeries at the referral of Dr. Libre at Alta Mt. clinic after a ski injury & tibial spine fracture. I greatly appreciated Dr. Higgins recommendation to hold off surgery. Now 3 weeks later I’m receiving amazing care from one of his mentees here in NYC, Dr. Forsh. lived with a non-union leg fracture for 20 years and was taking 4 ibuprofen 4 times a day to be able to work an 8-hour day. The injured leg was shorter than the other leg and would just give out and drop me to the ground. By the end of the day the swelling and pain were almost unbearable. Dr. Higgins asked me what benefits I expected from the surgery. My big three in order of priority were 1) no pain 2) equal the length of the leg to balance my hip and 3) possibly straighten the leg. Dr. Higgins accomplished all three of my goals. I had been told by other doctors that repair of my leg was not possible but Dr. Higgins proved them wrong. His skill and compassion changed my life. I can now work 8-10 hours a day with NO pain and once again earn a good living in construction. Thank you seems so inadequate.

One of the best Dr’s i’ve ever been treated by! Very professional but very courteous. Dr Higgins explained things well and did a great job on the whole process of fixing my leg start to finish. I definitely recommend Dr Higgins.

Dr Higgins was the University of Utah Hospital’s surgeon for my wife’s ‘hip fracture’ that occurred while skiing. In a time of shock and distress for my wife and me as we dealt with her injury, Dr Higgins’ professionalism and bedside manner were exceptional. His clear explanations and calm presentation before and after surgery set the tone for our stay. He answered our questions clearly and concisely, and showed compassion for my wife’s injury, and optimism for her recovery.

He cut off my sons second leg. Very caring, very professional every time. Great Doctor! Very nice man.

I gotta say he is an amazing surgeon. Just got hardware out and I feel better than ever. Seems like he was very gentle and precise with his techniques. Thanks Higgins.
