Dr. Perkins is the most effective cosmetic surgeon I have found in our town of Santa Barbara. I have lived in Santa Barbara over 25 years and I have to say I think Dr. Perkins is the most competent in the way he explains his process for the procedure that he is administering, and the results are tremendous. He has a very gentle touch and a terrific chair/table side manner. I think Dr. Perkins is hands down the best plastic surgeon in Santa Barbara. He honestly changed my life. I started getting terrible acne just after I graduated from high school. It was an extremely difficult and emotionally devastating time for me (I still get emotional about it sometimes to this day). Acutane eventually worked to stop the breakout and cysts, but I was left with horrible acne scars. I have spent the last 8 years trying to get rid of these painful reminders of the acne. I have been to numerous doctors from Santa Barbara to Beverly Hills and have spent thousands of dollars on everything from microdermabrasion to chemical peels to fractional resurfacing. Nothing provided more than just minor improvements until I went to the Cosmetic Surgery Center, met Dr. Perkins, and had him do a chemabrasion on me at the end of January. There was about a week of downtime and my face stayed a bit red for a few weeks after that, but my scars are now literally 80% better than they were! I am so happy. I can now put my hair back in a ponytail and not feel self-conscious. I’m also getting married later this year. Before I would have dreaded the wedding pictures, now I can’t wait. I’m planning to do another chemabrasion next year to get rid of the remaining 20% of the scars. I’m thrilled with how I look now, but I honestly never thought I could have completely smooth skin again, so I’m going to go for it to get all the way there! This is like a dream come true for me and I can’t thank Dr. Perkins enough. You also could not meet a nicer doctor who truly cares about his patients. His nurse Nancy is amazing too. I agree with the other review that trust is the most important thing to have when you are dealing with something this big, and I trust them completely. If you live in the Santa Barbara, Ventura, Oxnard (or anywhere within driving distance really) and are thinking about having plastic surgery, do yourself a favor and go to the Cosmetic Surgery Center to see Dr. Perkins. When Dr. Perkins and Evolutions Medical Spa were recommended to me, I was lucky enough to be a model while Dr. Perkins trained one of his nurses in his injecting of Dysport (like Botox) method. He was very specific in his instructions. He had a step by step procedure and a philosophy of care. Speed and efficiency went out the window to be replaced by careful technique. The result was an injection technique in which I frequently did not feel the injection going in. That really blew my mind as I'm not a fan of needles. Dr. Perkins demonstrated his expertise, caring philosophy and exquisite technique to me that day. He's the only Doctor I'd think of for cosmetic surgery. My respect for him as a Physician is huge.
