Dr. Syed Ali Raza Shamsi

I had the misfotune of meeting Dr. Shamsi at Olean General's psychiatric facility. My visit with him was rushed, and I found him lacking in basic listening skills, compassion and bedside manner. He does not discuss the changes he's making to medications or why. His change to my medication dosage made my negative symptoms worse, but he could not be reasoned with.

I would rather cut off my right arm than meet with this unkind, condecending man who lacks compassion and human decency again. My second appointment with him was worst than the first I honestly didn’t think that was possible. I’d rather suffer in silence than to ever take a seat in this man’s office again. In my humble opinion he needs to be stripped of his license to practice medicine. I was a bundle of nerves and tears by the time I left his office. Never again!

I had the unfortunate experience of meeting him at Olean General Hospital. He is callous, uncaring, and condescending towards his patients. He doesn't explain anything or discuss treatment options with his patients. He tells them what medication he's going to give them and that's it.
