Susan P Salter

I became Dr Salter's patient after June 2022, it is March 2023. She has not touched me yet. I had over 30 rounds of radiation, her therapists are very good. The therapists made me comfortable. Her receptionist is very good. But, Dr Salter makes her crude and rude remarks about my weight. And do not ask about financial assisstance, she will look at you like you are an alien. And she knows the majority of her patients are retired and/or on Social Security. I really do hate that she is my Radiation Oncologist Doctor.

Worst bedside manner ever! You’d think she’d have more compassion dealing with a cancer patient. We should’ve done our research and read her reviews. This isn’t anything new with her.

Dr. Salter may know what she’s doing, but her bedside manner is atrocious. She got mad that I chose to get my pap with my GYN. Her office had given me a pap before. I was extremely uncomfortable the first time because Dr. Salter was out of the office & had her oncologist Uncle fill in for her that day. The treatment for GYN cancer can be quite barbaric so I chose to get my pap by my GYN who has the bedside manner of an angel & is someone I trust and feel comfortable with. Also, my other 2 oncologists said it was ok for my GYN to give the pap. I called Salter’s office about some side effects I was experiencing directly caused by radiation. Once she realized I went and got a pap by someone else on my cancer team she had her nurse tell me not to bother ever calling her back if I have problems. Just be prepared. She may know how to treat cancer, but she’s pretty heartless about it and how if affects you emotionally. And she will cut you off if she feels like you crossed her.

Worst experience. I'm sorry I didnt walk out before I was reduced to tears. Very rude and unprofessional. My husband asked a question to which she snapped "I dont know I'm not God." Our entire appt was like we were ruining her day. She has a very kind staff though.

I absolutely loved Dr. Salter. She was very caring and professional. I know she really cared about my treatment.

Dr. Susan Salter is a very caring and personable doctor. She explains things in depth and makes sure you understand. She does her best to make sure that her staff treats you with the utmost respect and kindness and make sure that you are comfortable with your surroundings and treatments. Glad I'm under her care. Have been seeing Dr Salter for 6 years, for stage three lung cancer she saved my life,Very Grateful she was great an so was every one else,But now I go for a check up Tell the nurse things that are going on! While Dr. Salter may be technically excellent, her emotional support of my husband was appalling. Toward the end of his cancer illness and about a month before he ultimately died, he needed radiation, surgery and a feeding tube. She told him that she didn't know why she should bother doing these procedures on a "dead man." Shameful, hurtful, and completely outrageous "bedside" manner.

My mother has been under the care of Dr. Susan for 10 years now. I've never posted a review until now but we have moved my Mom out of state and now we are searching for a new oncologist. I pray that we find a doctor as caring, compassionate and personable as Dr. Susan. She has always been very thorough when examining Mom, taking plenty of time with each visit. Dr. Salter will turn a bad patient into a good patient. As a patient I always leave thankful for her care and compassion.

There are so many great words to describe Dr. Susan Salter To start she is intelligent and smart. Very confident, well educated, approachable, compassionate and caring. Dr. Salter was aware of my anxiety being diagnosed with cancer. She communicates honestly and effectively with me and my family on every visit. Thank you Dr. Salter for being loyal and dedicated.

Dr. Salter is one of the most caring and best equipped doctors I have ever had. She takes time with her patients and takes a real interest in them. Not to mention, her staff is incredibly bright and quick. I would recommend Dr. Salter to anyone. She is truly a life saver.

No compassion nor bedside manner!. More concerned about her daughter taking a test. This was my husbands first visit. Not a good first impression at all.

Dr. Salter is very knowledgeable, but can be very standoffish . I didn't have a problem until about 4 weeks into treatment when radiation caused some pretty severe burns. She just shrugged it off and said just put aloe on it. Luckily, the radiation tech checked my burns and helped me by giving me Xeroform for my burn, it helped greatly and still took weeks to heal. Basically, she was great unless anything went wrong then she just shrugged it off. Many times I would not see her at all.
