She wanted to take a biopsy for something that didn't need one - Most likely for the pathology/biopsy charge. I then got a bill weeks later for a second $200 charge for the doctor/facility fee after paying upfront already for the visit I had already paid for. I had to go to a second doctor for treatment - of whom didn't try to make me get a biopsy - because I didn't need one. My husband and I were early for our 1st appointments with Dr Roper on March 24, 2021. As we are elderly, we go to our doctors' appointments together and we are seen together--in the same room at the same time. That way, there is no confusion or forgetting to tell each other what the doctor said, recommended or did. We cleared this stipulation with Dr Roper's staff two months ago when we made the appointment, and again one month ago when we delivered advance paperwork to them. Imagine our surprise when (after sitting in the waiting room for almost 30 minutes) we were told that Dr Roper would not see us together, regardless of what we were told initially. At that point, we regretfully told the front office that we would have to find another dermatologist who understands what together means. Therefore, I don't recommend that anyone go to Dr Roper. And, after reading the reviews of her practice, I believe it's best for my husband and I to find another dermatologist. I have been going to Dr. Roper for 15 years and I am very satisfied and happy with her and the staff. I have never found her to be cold or uncaring. I highly recommend her practice. UPDATE: I am still going to Dr Roper after 20 years and she has always been exceptional and she provides personal service and her staff is wonderful. I drive over 50 miles to get there, but when you have found a physician who is kind and exceptional, you stick with her! Dr Roper is one of the most knowledgeable, emphatic and caring physicians I have ever encountered. She saved my husband's life. I can't speak highly enough about the brilliance of her clinical expertise. She takes the time to listen and to understand. Her staff has been consistently kind and supportive.

This review is not about the doctor herself because I was refused my appointment, but a review of their "policies". I have a pre-existing condition that other doctors have not been able to help me with, so a friend referred me to this group of doctors. I promptly called around March 6th (or early March) and made an appointment for a new patient which was today June 27th their earliest appointment. I was then told my appointment was set & it was my responsibility to find out if the doctor was in-network, even though my insurance information was given to receptionist. I missed about 3 calls and a voicemail from the office about a week prior and a few days prior; due to my work schedule being during normal business hours like most other working class people. PLEASE BE AWARE if you do not respond to their call they will CANCEL your appointment and give it to someone else! I had to take time off of work far in advance to see them. I was told on the phone today that "some people don't understand our appointment policy" Maybe this "policy" should be verbally communicated to the new patient at the time the appointment is made. Now I have used precious time that I cannot get back from my job and they refuse to see me until November! No thank you! I will look for another office that has better new patient hospitality! Dr. Roper is a very caring doctor with a great "bedside" manner. Furthermore, her staff is very friendly and helpful. Also, she charges reasonable fees for the work she personally performs. I have been coming here for many years and I will not go anywhere else. Never a problem! I would not trust my face or skin to just anyone, unless that person has the experience and is a board certified dermatologist and who personally performs all of the procedures herself. I highly recommend her!

Dr Roper and her staff are truly the best I have ever been to. They are amazing. For the first time in one year (4) Doctors later, Dr Roper was the only one to figure out my allergies. Never having this problem before now I not only have answers I understand and can control my life style, Thank you, so very much. (20 stars) Debi C

Dr Roper was quick to remove a mole off my breast to "check it for cancer", which was of course benign. She left a bulging scar that mg me self conscious. I have had other removals of moles with a barely noticeable mark left. I then received a high bill even after insurance. The wait is long and the office is nothing special. Would not recommend. This is also Countryside Dermatology - although it seems like they are trying to hide themselves by having a different google listing. I went in for a itchy skin rash, and I believe they gave me an unnecessary biopsy, so they could train a younger nurse how to do it - and so they could charge me more $$ money. In fact when the girl came into the room, she said "so you're here for a full screening for skin cancer" - not knowing what my visit was for. To top it off - after I paid for the unnecessary procedure - the lab that they sent the biopsy to, sent me an additional bill for $200! I can't say enough good things about Dr. Roper. Over the years, I had tried multiple dermatologists and creams - and she was the only one that was able to identify and solve the problems I had. I highly recommend her to anyone that may have skin-related problems.

This is the worst dermatology office I have ever experience. I had all the tests done and paid allot of money for them Additionally when doing all the test which I paid for I had to wait for Roper for 2.5 hours, yes 2 and one half hours. When my rash reoccurred, they were busy and would not see me. as a result I had to go to emergency room and it cost me 2500. Pls note emergency care know nothing about rashes they can do nothing. I met Dr Roper at A Cancer Convention where she was a guest speaker. I spoke with her afterwards looking for help regarding an ultrasound I just had for a lump on my upper thigh that could potentially be an aggressive Cancer. I explained that I am a 53 yr old single mom with Lupus as well, and no Health Insurance. She coldly told me to go to a free clinic. I was hoping for some direction in knowing a Cancer Center that may be able to help me. Dr Roper was very confrontational with our conversation when speaking with me. I basically walked off in tears, and spoke with a leader of the convention who happily gave me a connection, hugged me, and said she would pray for me.
