My experience was exactly the same as the other more recent patient reviews have suggested. Dr. Nunez was very rude, showed a great lack of empathy, and brushed off in the visit.

My experience was exactly the same as the other more recent patient reviews have suggested. Dr. Nunez was very rude, showed a great lack of empathy, and brushed off our concerns as if they didn't matter. It seemed like she was trying her best to find something wrong, and worse, trying to suggest we were bad parents because we weren't blindly agreeing with her. Also, just like another reviewer has stated, she has no filters around kids, openly talking about matters we as parents have decided is not the time to discuss. We were harassed, and for that we were charged $359. Absolutely preposterous. I saw the reviews here before I went, but I had figured its only a minority of the many patients that see her. And I could not believe another reviewer saying that Dr. Nunez misdiagnosed them with cancer. Unfortunately, I learned the hard way that they were telling the truth. I should've heeded the other reviewers here. Please don't fall victim to her. I can't imagine all of the things she has put other people through who trusted her. I was disappointed that they only let one parent in to go to your child’s appointment. The staff was knowledgeable and the Dr. Nunez great but feel like both parents should be allowed to attend.

I cannot begin to explain how terrible our visit with dr Nunez was yesterday. 7 year old daughter should not have to hear terms like “obstruction” or very scary possibility diagnoses that actually may not be a thing, talking about sensitive topics with no filters. And then there’s the private area exam. My daughter literally screamed it hurt, and the doctors response was “oh no sweetie it doesn’t hurt.” Please do yourself a favor and look for care else where. You have to have empathy to work with children. This doctor does not have that. I have no words for this "doctor"

My 9 yo daughter has hypothyroidism and has been seeing Nunez for SEVERAL years. They have been terrible at even documenting when my daughters dosage was changed, it's up to me to remind them (that was when my daughter was only 2) Should have taken that as a sign but I kept seeing her. Fast forward (many issues over the years but this takes the cake) back in Sept of 2020, Nunez's office sent out a WO for bloodwork, we went DURING A PANDEMIC to get this bloodwork only to find out when the nurse called with results, that they DIDNT EVEN TEST HER THYROID function!!!! Waited for them to send a new WO, went AGAIN to get bloodwork only to be told by CPL that there was STILL no order on the document to test thyroid function. By now it's DEC, doctor refuses to fill my daughter's prescription because they don't have bloodwork results for her thyroid. I FINALLY get the correct paperwork to get my daughter tested AGAIN ( my special needs daughter who does not understand why we keep having to stick her arm) finally got meds. Now, here we are today, last month the doc refused to refill my daughters meds until I made her an appt, which is on 4/23. Doc only filled a few days of meds even though the appt was over a month out. We are once again waiting for the doc to fill my daughter's meds as she has been out for a week and it is marked as urgent however Nunez won't approve, I've called now several days AFTER the pharmacy reached out to the doc and STILL NOTHING!!! This doctor does NOT care if your child has no medication, she does not care that the employees have caused my daughter to have to give blood MULTIPLE times for NO reason since they won't add the correct bloodwork order to her paperwork!!!! THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE FROM A "SPECIALIST" or any doctor for that matter. If you can, find a different Endocrinologist for you precious babies! This doctor's office is extremely frustrating. My daughter began using this office in second grade. After two years of dealing with the office I am DONE! They do not listen at all, even after repeating myself multiple times. The front office staff are extremely rude and it has been a horrible experience. I decided to switch to the Round Rock location and they were amazing. We were able to see the Physicians Assistant but unfortunately were still under Dr. Nunez as a patient. I would not recommend this doctor at all. She does not treat you with care, or even act like my nine year old daughter is of any importance. The last time we visited she proceeded to get off topic on the importance of certain types of masks. I am looking forward to finding a different doctor. This doctor's office is extremely frustrating. Nunez MISDIAGNOSED my daughter with THYROID CANCER. At my first appointment, Nunez said we would receive a diagnoses and response within a week. Well 6 weeks later there was still no response from Nunez, despite me calling multiple times. I got no response until I went to the office and sat there for 3 hours saying I would not leave until I had some kind of communication. The front desk person finally tracked down Nunez in another office, and Nunez told the front desk person to tell me the case had slipped through the cracks. (Your kid supposedly has cancer but nobody is on it to let you know?) When Nunez finally did return my call, she gave the misdiagnosis. I got 3 follow up opinions, and all of them said they had no idea what Nunuz could be talking about. Clearly there was no cancer. Nunez MISDIAGNOSED my daughter with THYROID CANCER. Our son had a bone marrow transplant at Memorial Sloan Kettering in NY as an infant and as a result needs long term care. After moving to Austin, we were concerned about finding the same level of care and expertise. We were fortunate enough to find Dr. Nunez and her and her team have been great. She is not only an expert in her field but she is very understanding and caring. They have also been very helpful in navigating through insurance issues as my son requires specialty drugs. I really like Dr. Nunez, she was very helpful with my grandson condition and told us all the options for his treatment. I can't understand why she is getting such bad reviews. I thank God for her because you can be in such denial when it comes to your children. Dr. keep up the good work and keep that smile on your face why you are being professional @ what you do.

30 years ago at CHKD Norfolk VA, she took care of my Daughter who had Sturge Weber Syndrome, she was compassionate and caring, we've never had another Dr. who showed as much passion. God Bless you Doc, "The Tatum Family."

This place is a joke. The left doesn't know what the right hand is doing. when you call and leave a message for the nurse to call you back about 3-4 days before an appointment and they don't. Dr's here like to push experiments on your kids but with family history should tell enough. Also they want to put them on medication that knowing very well that it would be too strong and drop them. I wish I could tell you stay far away from this place but this the only place in Austin with endo Dr's. Very sad!! This place is a joke. I am one of her patients and I went in today she had a bad attitude towards me and barely told us any information going on with me or explaining to me what I am supposed to take and why. She did not even ask me if I had any questions or if there are any issues going on with me. It felt like she just went in and did not even do anything. It was like only ten minutes in the room with her. But all I got were major bad vibes with her. I don’t feel like I trust her at all as my doctor. I thought it was just me until I read the comments on this page, but I don’t think she should be a doctor if she is going to have a negative attitude and negative vibes. I need a doctor with positive vibes and actually cares about my health and actually helps me. Definitely do not recommend her.

bad, bad, bad - I told Dr. Nunez three years ago my daughter was gaining unhealthy weight and asked for metabolic tests. Then two years ago, then one year ago and all the time she said there are no tests. Finally my daughter's insulin tested high, which by the way after seven years this is the first time Nunez tested insulin, and it was alarmingly high, no wonder my daughter has been gaining weight. Then she said I need to see a metabolic genetics dr. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILDREN HERE!!!!!

She had a very rude and egoistic demeanor. She had no interest in listening to what I had to say and didn't perform the test that I went there for. Instead, she ended up performing other useless tests that I didn't even need just for the money.

Stay away from this doctor. She allowed my grandsons sodium to go to critical level simply because my daughter would not give him a medication that had already been tried and had failed she kept other doctors in the hospital from giving him IV sodium. She threatened and bullied my daughter to do surgery and put a G tub in or call CPS on her and have her rights taken away for medical neglect my daughter has 2 sons with a rear and undiagnosed condition also my other grandson has it.
