the two stars are because everyone is very polite. I love Dr Panchal but The delays since IBJ has taken over really are just painful and a real issue as far as I am concerned. This time I had a 10:00 appt and was on time. I had appts for work and asked the receptionist if she was running on time. She said yes. I specifically said I can't do the 90 minute usual wait time. She assured me it would only be a second. 45 minutes later I still had not been called. I returned to the reception desk and explained that I had to leave. I explained that at 10 she said the doc was on time. My appt was for 10 - 10:50 still in the waiting room is not on time. Again she said she was pretty sure it would only be a little longer until I went into the room. I said that I just didn’t have the time to wait another 30 minutes…… Seriously - somehow IBJ has the impression that my time is not valuable. I was not a walk in or someone squeezed in - I had an appt and in my world a 10:00 is 10:00 or SHORTLY thereafter. Once in the room, here is the process: the nurse comes in and asks why you are there - then 10 minutes later the PA comes in and asks why you are there and then 10 more minutes the doctor walks in - spends 5 minutes with you and the appt is over. The normal 90 minute delays are nothing more than a scheduling issue. If you are scheduling appts every 15 minutes and you can't keep that schedule, then you need to space them out or reschedule a few so the doc can get back on time. I have referred 2 patients to Dr Panchal in the last few months and everyone has had the same experience. The appt times don't mean a thing. Great Docs but poor time management. I will need to leave the practice that I have been with for 30 years if this continues and in good conscience will have to tell people asking for a referral that unless they have an inordinate amount of free time to sit and wait, this is not the practice for them. the two stars are because everyone is very polite. Everything went well.totally satisfied with the outcome.everyone in the Dr’s office were true professionals. I don’t think it could have gone any better.

Very nice people at the receptionist desk and the doctor was very nice too

My mom broke a finger, her general practician did x-rays and sent her to Dr Panchal. Dr Panchal said it wasn't broken and put my mom finger in a splint for 10 weeks. After 10 weeks, the finger is still swollen and painful. Dr Panchal says it's normal and to put some cortisone cream on it. Went back to the general practician who does not understand why Dr Panchal thinks it is fine. Now have to go to another Orthopedic for second opinion. Will let you know... Dr. Panchal has a great bed side manner, she explains all procedures so you understand what to expect. She has a great group off nurses that support and assist her. She re constructed my index finder after I crushed it. It’s only been about 6 months and almost has complete use of it. Thank you to Dr. Panchal, the nurses, support staff and Effie Gibson, my occupational therapist at lllionis bone & joint. Dr. S. Panchal and her staff take the time to review, test and document all the medical issues that you may have. They will sit with you to provide a road map of what needs to be done to correct those issues in a timely fashion. Once a decision is made on the course of action that is need, it's implemented quickly so to start the road to recovery. Once the medical procedure has been completed, you can expect carring and quality follow ups care. It's very important that you have quick access to you Doctor for questions and Dr. S. Starting with my first contact to the last, everyone treated me not only respectfully, but also made me feel that i was valued.

Never saw her. Waited 45 minutes and then left. 2:10 appt. Left at 2:50...

Don't bother. Talked to her nurse longer than the actual doctor. Look for the weird eye roll fluttering. You'll know she tired of the appointment.

I saw Dr Panchal a week after an accident for a broken wrist. I was very disappointed in my visit and care. When she entered the room she looked at one of the X-rays that I had taken at the emergency room the week before and basically told me it wasn’t broken. That she couldn’t see any break and that I could lift my Grandkids. The following week I got a second opinion. This Dr took the time to point out exactly where it was broken and NOT to lift that it was doing damage. When I met with the technician she confirmed the reason for my visit, but it wasn't correct. She abruptly made clear that the doctor was VERY busy that day and couldn't see me for all my scheduled issues. Well, we're all busy but it's our job to accommodate patients when they take the time to scheduls an appointment. If someone in their office miscommunicated that is not the patients fault. I yhink there are better physicians at North Shore Orthopedic Institute. Their staff isn't rude and they are accommodating. Dr. Panchal performed hand surgery on our son and was very professional and patient answering all questions our 17 year could come up with ???? We went back for a broken finger and had the same positive experience.

This practice earned every one of my five stars! I thoroughly enjoyed meeting Dr. Panchal yesterday. Her staff was able to squeeze me in within a short time after my internist provided a pressing referral for me. Everyone I encountered there was pleasant, helpful & caring. My visit lasted about an hour, including time to complete new patient forms and banter a bit with others. Her technique was elegant and effective, bundled with a good bit of humor and genuine concern for my well-being. My pain is gone and follow-up care was clearly explained. Dr. Panchal and her entire staff that saw me, took a great care of time to get to know and understand the problems I’ve been having with my wrists, inspecting and checking over them and my X-rays, and clearly explaining what they found and how to go about healing correctly.

The office staff is friendly and efficient. Same for Dr Panchal’s nurse. I really like Dr Panchal. She was hands-on and thorough. And we have a plan for my care. I believe I am in good hands with Dr Panchal.

I’ve had surgery on both wrists. Dr. Panchal did both wrist this year. She is amazing, and the wrists are doing great. Dr. Panchal did my husband's carpal tunnel surgery today and was wonderful. I had a follow-up question after returned home and was instantly connected with her nurse at Illinois Bone and Joint. Dr. Panchal and her team at IBJ have been so thorough and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend them to anyone I love!

Dr Panchel Took on my my difficult wrist and arm surgery case when 7 other doctors would not take it on. It was a very difficult long surgery. She was very professional and respectful and answered all of the questions that I had, her nurse Diana is also very friendly and helpful. The surgery went very well and I am very pleased with the outcome thus far. Due to injury to my hand I needed to find a Doctor. Someone recommended IJBI and we picked Dr Surbhi Panchal. I found her to be friendly with a unique sense of humor which was refreshing. She never was in a hurry and answered all of our questions. I could not have found a better surgeon it was a refreshing experience to be treated by her

I met Dr. Panchal in 2018 for a painful trimalleolar ankle fracture. I expected to leave the hospital with a cast but learned that surgery was required to add screws and metal plates to hold things together during healing. Dr. Panchal and team (Diana in particular) were absolutely amazing! They talked me through the surgery, answered all of my questions in detail and gave me the highest standard of care throughout the lengthy recovery. I honestly didn't even realize how fantastic the experience was until a recent knife-hand accident required several stitches from an out-of-state ER. The incision opened after stitch removal leaving ER staff perplexed on how to treat it. I was concerned and called Dr. Panchal's office for help. They worked me in on the same day for treatment and scheduled weekly follow-ups to monitor healing. I left feeling relieved that I was in good hands - no pun intended! Dr. Panchal & team truly are the best. I couldn't ask for better patient care!

I have never had any issues with this office before, but today was an unpleasant experience to say the least. The doctor did an xray barely examined my shoulder barely asked any question. The nurse asked more. Told me I just needed a corizone shot and when I said I really think it's worse I would like an MRI to make sure, she shortly said fine! My daughter fractured her elbow and her doctor referred us to Dr. Panchal. I felt as if she was very honest, direct, and helpful throughout the process, which ultimately led us to the decision to have surgery done on the elbow. Dr. Panchal was amazing with my daughter and stuck up for her in the emergency room after my daughter became extremely nervous about having an IV before the surgery. The surgery went smoothly and all the after-care treatment she provided (including occupational therapy that she recommended) helped my daughter gain full usage back of her elbow. When my daughter broke her hand in an accident, we visited Dr. Panchal for a second opinion. Surgery on a young child is so scary. Dr. Panchal put us at ease right away. She encouraged questions, and was very knowledgeable. Her credentials are top notch and it shows. Dr. Panchal is also personable and caring. You never feel rushed with her. Her nurse and staff are also terrific. My family’s experience with Dr. Panchal was exceptional. I highly recommend this compassionate and skilled surgeon.

She performed surgery twice on my right hand due to a car accident. I was in her care from Oct. 2017 to Oct. 2018. During that time, she was friendly, compassionate, and extremely knowledgeable. I would not hesitate to recommend her.

How fortunate I am to be treated with friendly, professional, knowledgeable, experienced and compassionate medical care from Dr. and staff. I am made to feel that my condition and health is the most important thing and that is extremely comforting. The staff is always professional and caring. I am always seen or treated in a timely manor. I am able to be myself. I appreciated their timely follow-ups and answers of my questions. I am truly blessed with my medical care experts and their team.

I was sent to Dr. Panchal from an immediate care center and I'm happy with that decision. She explained everything she would be doing during surgery and subsequent visits were centered around my improvement and all concerns were always addressed. She made sure to ask me questions in various ways to be sure I was stating what I felt and not discounting something I may have felt insignificant.

During my first visit with Dr. Panchal to discuss potential hand surgery, I was immediantly impressed by her open and sincere personality. She was very thorough explaining what needed to be done and how it would take place giving me extreme confidense going forward. She has always allowed ample time for visits and discussions. I was very pleased with the surgery and continue to be after recovery and physical therapy. She is definitely one of my all time favorite physicions.

I would highly recommend Dr. Panchal. She explained, scheduled and performed my surgery all within the same day that I visited her office. She immediately put me at ease, explained the recovery process and made the entire experience a smooth one. In addition, Nicole Miller, the Occupational Therapist who handled my post surgery rehab was amazing. She enabled me to get full range of motion of my hand and between her and Dr. Panchal, the scar is almost invisible!!!

I was very pleased with my surgery experience and my successful recovery process. Dr Panchal was very patient and informative in explaining what would happen. I felt very comfortable with her performing the surgery for carpal tunnel release and a finger fusion and would definitely recommend her to anyone searching for a hand surgeon. The staff is friendly and professional and very friendly.

Excellent care from this doctor. Very considerate, listens to patient's concerns, is empathetic. No rushing through in the examination room, unlike some other doctors I have seen. Dr. Panchal has performed 2 surgeries on me, and has always kept me completely informed and optimistic.
