Sumeet Garg

Dr. Garg did my son's scoliosis surgery Dec 2017. The first time my son and I met him he was late.When it came down to surgery he seemed very nice, caring and appeared to really want to help my son. After surgery and three rodes later: my son was discharged the Tuesday after surgery, we ended up back in the ER that night because the bottom half of his incision would not stop bleeding. That Wednesday we were back in ortho they changed his sutures to some kind of zip tie kind and said if it did not stop bleeding we would need to go back in to the OR. Needless to say it did not stop bleeding, so they went backing that Saturday to flush him out. Post surgery he still seemed kind, caring and willing to care for my son. Then the issues started: my son started having shoulder pain, back pain all the time and more importantly the feeling in his side has never come back. We have gone back to see him several times just to be told that the hard ware was still in place and has not shifted; that the screw that you can feel through his skin is well below his scapula. Every appointment after surgery and when the issues started he was late. The last time we saw him he said that he should be good for the rest of his life as to dismiss us like it was all being made up. The end of August this year 2020 my son's hump came back, we went to the ER again and was told that the hard ware had not shifted. Dr. Garg told the resident doc that came to see us that he would have his ortho nurse call to schedule an appointment that Thursday; well Thursday came and no call so I called them only to be told by an ortho nurse he noted "no spin follow up needed give her the number to sports medicine". So I say Ok I want to see someone else. We made an appointment with another ortho doc who again said that the hard ware had not shifted and that the hard ware was not failing. " It would take a really bad car accident to bend the rods they are really strong. We were basically told that the hump was from his ribs being turned and that basically he was stuck with it. We were also told that he would need to do my physical activities to straighten his shoulder, mind you he did not have shoulder issues until after surgery. I do not recommend Dr. Garg to anyone! To be fair I did not meet Dr. Garg, but his staff is unbelievably terrible. They can only be described as uncaring, obstinate and in many cases down-right rude. No I am never going back. Good luck, you are going to need it.
