If your Crohn’s disease is absolutely textbook, which many times Crohn’s disease is not, you or your child might be ok on Dr. Steiner’s caseload...might. On the other hand, if your or your child’s Crohn’s disease increases in severity or stops responding to previously prescribed meds, please do not expect that Dr. Steiner will have expertise to know how to help you. His lack of knowledge and dismal capacity for empathy will have you questioning your own reality and your child will suffer needlessly, if you arrive at these crossroads. Please, please, please do not hesitate to get a second opinion, if you do choose to see Dr. Steiner and experience difficult times in the course of treatment. Had my child not now advanced to competent care, we could have lost more than just quality of life.

I leave this review every so often and notice it disappears. My kid saw him years ago. Was having 24/7 pain, nothing helped at all. He shoved off our concerns, barely listened, and accused our kid of faking. Kept asking about home life constantly, which I get, you want to make sure kids are OK, but it got to the point of being offensive. We had to stay with him for a year until another gastro doctor opened up. He claimed it was possibly IBS. We left him as soon as we could to a fabulous gastro Dr at Riley Indianapolis to find out our kid had malrotation which could of killed them. They was finally able to have corrective surgery and go back to a normal life, but if we had stayed Dr. Steiner it would of never happened and we could of lost our child. When kiddos are so sick and needing answers it's really rude for a Dr to cancel their procedure for no other reason but than that "they need to leave early that day". Rude. And when I asked Marissa a quick follow up question about something else she acted like I was off my rocker. I Don't appreciate it. Sorry. Dr Steiner was our second gastroenterologist. He had studied our medical file, (despite it being sent over late) asked good questions, and laid out a plan for additional diagnostics and treatment. Big ego, but kind and knowledgeable. His office staff are unbelievably good - follow up phone calls, making sure diagnostic work and follow up appointments are timely.

Dr. Steiner is a very caring doctor he's been there with me and my son since day one since he was diagnosed with crohn's disease my son loves him trust him and listen to him he's wonderful I would recommend him to anybody I give him all 5 stars
