Dr. Steven M Sobol

Dr. Sobol is not there to "hold your hand"...I found him very professional and a great surgeon. His staff is great...friendly and spot-on. Not only do I see them every 6 months for blood work...but I recommend him without question.

My Experience.. Dr. Sobol Went to bat for me and acted quickly to save my life with his years of experience and finely honed skill, He had my back when I didn't even know it, I will be forever grateful to him and all the staff at DMH. God bless you all!

Great doctor, great staff. Highly recommended.

First office visit/procedure , very good. Appt time very punctual. Staff very friendly and helpful. Dr Sobol was wonderful! Took plenty of time to explain everything to me and answer questions. VERY comfortable with upcoming office visits and any/all procedures to follow. Great doctor, great staff!

My husband was a patient of Dr. Sobol in 2011. From the beginning of Bill’s bout with cancer, Dr. Sobol provided excellent care. In his field, he’s one of the best in our country. He and Dr. Derrick performed a lengthy surgery to remove a tumor. Bill did not pursue any further treatment but Dr. Sobol remained highly involved in his case until Bill entered Hospice. I’ve seen Dr. Sobol on the street and at DMH and he’s always taken the time to greet me warmly. I would highly recommend him to anyone. Some might wonder why it’s taken so long to post a review. It will soon be 5 years since Bill left me and being quarantined has provided time for me to reflect on my blessings. Dr. Sobol was certainly one to our entire family.

Rotten bedside manner. Rude. Bad listener. No understanding at all. Will not be recommending him to anyone.

He just did surgery to remove cancer on my moms throat. Now that it is removed, she is having complications and the office there told her to call someone else, and that they will not be able to fix it, nor help her to find someone else to fix the problem he has caused. This guy needs to explain himself or there might be some serious problems for him in the future. As my grandmother is the head of the department of public health for thg he last 35 years. I was so impressed with Dr Sobol, won't lie I heard some bad thing's but remembered him from doing my three boy's tonsillectomy and he was very professional, so I gave him a chance and boy am I glad I did.I highly recommend him. He was kind and explained thing's to me,he didn't try to hurry me out of the room and made sure I didn't have any more questions. Mr. Sobel intentionally told me I didn't have eagle syndrome knowing full well I did have it. I went to NorthWestern to an ent specialist & was told that my right styloid is completely calcified which is causing this chronic pain. Do not go to him if you think u have eagle syndrome. Got to Northwestern & see Dr. Bove. Shame on Sobel for doing this to me. Lying to a patient is immoral & this isn't over with yet. Dr Sobel just did my husband big surgery on his throat he is the best in our book my husband is very pleased with everything he has done and so am I we will be lost when he retires and leaves

I was referred to Dr. Sobol by the radiation oncologist (who my ENT referred patients to) for post thyroid cancer treatment. He was rude, cocky and made several remarks about my weight-especially my "thick neck." He proceeded to write a letter to my Radiation Oncologist (that I went to for breast cancer) and ENT chronicling my ENT's supposed slip up in my care which couldn't have been further from the truth. I couldn't in good faith recommend this doctor to anyone.

Dr. Sobels bedside manners could have been better. I will never go back to him. I'm having Chronic pain & he wouldn't even give me something for pain. How can a Dr leave a patient in so much pain. This is why suicides happen & makes people look like drug seekers, but the ones in chronic pain get told no then they seek heroin for pain relief. It's immoral for a Dr to do this to his patient. Back to PA where they have really really compassionate Dr's.stay away from him if your n chronic pain.

Im not impressed with him at all! My dad had an appointment with him this week per the radiation doctor to have his ears flushed out because they were full of wax he didn’t even touch his ears he was only concerned with a needle biopsy with the lump on his neck. Well Dr Sobol my dad has already been diagnosed with lymphoma! Why don’t you stick with the program!! Wouldn’t recommend you to anyone!!

Dr Sobol is an excellent Dr who is very professional and I am so lucky to have him for my daughters thyroid dr. He is in our opinion the best and I would absolutely recommend him. Thank you Dr Sobol for taking the time to answer all of our questions and concerns before the surgery. Decatur is fortunate to have you.

Dr. Sobel is an outstanding Doctor & Decatur is going to be so lost when he retires & leaves. He has been my dr for years for my thyroid & no dr will ever compare to him. Had I looked him up before & seen he had no reviews I would had posted. He will get a 5 from most people he care for.very caring heart!!

I was seeing Dr. Sobel for my thyroid cancer, which he treated well, but when I was having other issues, no one cared! Telling me it was in my head, or I'm crazy, not acceptable! Not listening to me, not acceptable!

There really wasn't much of an experience. He spent literally 30 seconds talking at me and completely dismissed an ultrasound finding as nothing. I wanted to ask him a question about low blood calcium but I wasn't given the chance. He was too busy talking into a microphone recording my pointless visit. My original appointment was also cancelled by his office because he went to a meeting. It wound up taking 5 months to see him for my test results.

Upper respiratory and sinus infection. Dr Sobol was very patient, kind,caring, and professional with me.Dr Sobol is the best in ENTA field of medicine.
