My husband had surgery with Dr Roper, who was excellent. He answered all our questions, was to the point, and help put our concerns at ease. Excellent surgeon. Husband did great after surgery, without several of the post op symptoms he could have had. DR. Roper was awesome, he was so professional and informational! His care is top notch nothing comes close! I had a tumor removed from my pituitary gland 3 weeks ago and I've never felt better! I cant thank you enough DR. Roper ????????

There is no one any better than Dr. Roper and his staff. I had suffered from seizures since childhood. Finally, at 38 years of age I was referred to shands because no other neurologist in central Fl. Knew what was happening. From the first visit they were on top of the issue. They performed testing, the same test that other neurologist had previously done and couldn't find anything. Shands, Dr. Roper and their team of doctors found the issue. Dr. Roper performed surgery on my right temporal lobe to remove a scar on my brain. That was in 2004, I have been seizure free and medication free since that time. 16 years later I have no visible scarring from the surgery, and have never regretted the decision to trust dr. Roper and his team to solve my issue. If you are facing any issues of this type, you will not find anyone any better than Dr. Roper and his team. Removed tumor completely, well run helpful practice that cares for their patients, doctor tells you what you need to know and answers all your questions so you know what is going on.

Dr. Roper is one of the best in his field. He explained the surgery in an easy to understand manner and I breezed through a major surgery due to his expertise.

Had a subdura EEG and part of my front right temporal lobe removed. Amazing confidence and reassurance. Made me feel like I was having the simplest surgery ever.

Not a good listener. Seems to not take readings of film seriously or agree with the findings. Would not recommend.

Am "lucky" to be alive after he carved large chunks from my brain w/o considering/mapping possibility I might have (>1 focal point) of (bilateral orientation) causing seizures. Sometimes wish I was dead instead of having gone with his lobectomy. No way to post with no stars. Oh well. So much for accuracy in reviews OR EEGs, huh?

Dr. Roper is an excellent surgeon. No complaints following a right temporal lobectomy. Very professional when it comes to his patient's and their care. I have no complaints and would request him as the surgeon if I ever needed neurosurgery again.

Dr. Roper performed by pituitary tumor surgery in December 2011 & that was the best care I have ever received. Dr. Roper & his staff was patient, kind, considerate & compassionate. I have no complaints at all about the care & treatment I continue to receive this day. I believed God used him to save my life. Thank you Dr. Roper & Shands Hospital! He is a good doctor but the only problem he has is that he just wants to run out of the office without listening to your questions. Patients are not medical students so pay attention to them and give them the time they deserve.

Dr. Roper is a very caring doctor. He removed my pituitary cyst and visited me when I was hospitalized. He was even willing to discuss with me over the phone regarding my pituitary cyst before I decided to have a surgery. His staff members are also very kind and professional. Thank you so much Dr. Roper.

Dr Roper removed a pituitary tumor and I had no complications, went home the next day. He was straightforward, inspired confidence, and communicated well during the whole process. Shands is the place to go in my opinion.
