I have to say that my husband and I learned what not to accept from doctors after this event. I am writing this post on behalf of my husband who simply does not do computers but wanted a review posted. In the first two appointments at the Hinsdale office things were ok. No complaints. Dr. Miller kept raving about the "wound care center" near LaGrange hospital and all the bells and whistles he would have for his use and wanted my husband to go there for his toe, for a staff infection, for treatment. I have to say the only thing nice about the center is the reception area. After waiting almost 1 1/2 hours for the scheduled appointment we were put in a treatment room and then were greeted by two nurses who rolled in like a couple of wrestlers. One hooked my husband to a machine with no greeting, or explanation of what or why she was doing this test. The second nurse stood by the door writing down whatever the other nurse was saying. They left and once again we waited. Now looking out to the outer reception treatment area I viewed a messy counter, storage areas and pretty much an overall very unclean un-organized appearance. Then the same nurse returned and proceeded to set up a so called sterile tray. Shocked and much to my"knowing better" she used the same gloves to handle the tray liners, sterile gauze and instruments she used to handle dirty electric cords from the earlier machine, to use on the tray for my husband's open wound.! Guess what? gloves are to protect patients to! Ever hear of cross contamination?? I then very nicely requested she remove the gloves and set up a whole new tray as I reminded her about being STERILE and her gloves were not? Her facial expression just showed me she did not appreciate my request. Too bad! Isn't the patient your main concern? We finally did see Dr. Miller and it took all of 20 minutes and nothing high tech was performed! Nothing any different than at his Hinsdale office offered. We scheduled the next appt. at the Western Springs office as my husband refused to return to the Wound Care center. We spoke to Dr. Miller about our concerns. Well he was very insulted to say the least and by the intensity of his bantering it was obvious he took it personally! Never had this problem before as he scolded us! Here's the thing, most of the people we saw sitting in the center were so old, sitting in wheel chairs and could barely hold there own, so I do not think they have a clue what a proper cross contamination prevention procedure would be. The sad thing is the seriousness of people trusting safe care for there wounds and coming in to a place that could make them worse or lethal. Shame on you Dr. Miller, quality care before ego! By the way, our insurance does not cover the hyperbaric chamber. Sorry you could not use your toy! Overall my husband and I were treated as if we were children and talked at instead of talked with. He insisted we go see a infectious disease Dr. and that was another horror story. Both doctors gave a different diagnoses. Both seemed to me adamant about amputation. The toe was already healing and my husband's home care was a big part of that! Maybe not fast enough for Dr. Miller. I guess he forgot when you get older your healing slows a bit. All the drugs out there is why so many of us have problems now because they deny the body's ability to heal on it's own. Time and great care is a big factor. When things go the other way then it's time to re-think treatment. That is why we will not ever return to Dr. Miller. He failed in the quality care department which also includes treating patients with RESPECT! I will think and feel for those other Wound Care patients and hope they heal well. Great process and results....professional and great bedside manner

Pleased to have had Dr. Miller as my surgeon!

Dr. Miller was always cheerful and courteous whenever I came in for an appointment. I took care to follow his recommendations and my injury healed back to a state where I can’t tell it ever happened in the first place. Very kind and highly knowledgeable, I would highly recommend.

Dr. Miller is always very professional yet compassionate. He listens to what I say and asks appropriate follow up questions. I have been seeing him for almost 5 years and will continue. He is knowledgeable about diabetes which is important to me because I am avType I diabetic.

Dr. Miller is very respectful and takes time to get to know the patient. He also explains and answers any questions we may have. He took the extra steps of an MRI when the X-ray gave an indication of something going on, but we were not sure.
