Dr. Steven Liu

DO NOT COME HERE! My daughter was seeing Dr.Liu he misdiagnosed my child! Liu and his nurse April stated many of times my daughter is a teen and “it’s all in her head”. They continued to say she’s having “functional pain”. He even stated she needs to be in school… unfortunately she can’t, even school nurses were stunned. My daughter has to have a school teacher/nurse come to my house 2 days out the week. Liu didn’t want to approve that or my FMLA. I had to see another physician outside of him to get the ball rolling and what do you know, “something” was found. By this time, several test were done and I was informed by Liu as we ended up going BACK to him after calling me to apologize about continually saying there’s nothing wrong with my daughter, there’s something on her kidneys AND she may have SMA Superior Mesenteric Artery Syndrome. My daughter has been suffering since AUGUST 2021 and can’t physically attend school or do anything. We are NOW in December, flying back and forth to see the surgeon to determine which surgery has to be performed. Back to Liu, an Upper GI was eventually done to rule out SMA, he ruled it out and came back and stated again she’s having “functional pain” and he wanted to prescribe her an antidepressant allegedly for pain although it causes suicidal symptoms. I immediately stated “NO”! My mother and myself called and emailed almost everyday letting them know it’s gotten worse for my child and to no avail he said take her to see someone else! So I did that and IMMEDIATELY upon reviewing the EXACT images and all scans that were done this doctor in another state found my daughter to have SEVERE Mesenteric Artery Syndrome! This surgeon ordered his own test to be 100% certain the disc and all supporting evidence shows SMA and it does. SMA can KILL you if left untreated and a lot of agony in pain. I wouldn’t trust my life or my child’s life with this man who didn’t care if she lived or died. It’s so much more that he’s said to me and the nurse to my mother and I. It’s ridiculous that I have to fly my child across the world to get treated!!! I AM DISAPPOINTED and DISGUSTED!!!

Dr Liu was very thorough and kind. The office staff was kind and efficient. Excellent care. Great place. Highly recommend.

Dr. Liu is a wonderful pediatric gastroenterologist. He took such great care of our son. His nurse took a very thorough history before he came into the room. We didn’t feel rushed and we felt like they really cared about the details. Dr. Liu listened to our concerns and answered all of our questions. He took his time explaining everything to us and really cared about our sons well being. He was gentle when he examined our baby. He went above and beyond when he noticed a clerical error in our hospital records and made a personal phone call to the doctor that made the error to have it corrected. As new parents, we feel so lucky to have found such a thorough and caring doctor. This is top notch specialty care. There was no wait when we were at the office, but even if there was it would have been totally worth it.

My son and I have been working with Dr. Liu for several years now, and we LOVE him! He has been very proactive with my son’s care, and he has a wonderful bedside manner. He always takes the time to LISTEN, and my son is thriving under his care.

He's always engaged and listens to concerns. He also addresses these concerns promptly. Plus, he's great with my daughter.

Dr. Liu was AMAZING! He was friendly, thorough, and really listened! Dr. Liu took my daughter's symptoms seriously, and he was so good at communicating with her and me. I completely trust Dr. Liu with the care of my daughter. His nurse, Susan, is also a rock star! I am so glad to have found Dr. Liu!

It is always a pleasure to see Dr. Liu! We have had nothing but a great experience whenever we have to come in. Dr. Liu is great on explaining everything that is going on and the treatment plan. Dr. Liu took the least invasive options when treating my son and gradually went up if needed, I appreciated that he gave us time to see if one option was working before moving on to something else. Dr. Liu's bedside manner has been probably the best I have seen. I will be recommending Dr. Liu anytime a friend or family that is search of a GI doctor.

Dr . Liu is "funny and nice" per my daughter who he provides GI care for. And she says "he makes sure I am healthy and takes my poopy medicine". I am a pediatric nurse who works with kids with GI issues and he treated me with professionalism and just like he would treat his other patients and treated me like a mother concerned about my daughter; He did a great job addressing her GI issues and my concerns and developing a care plan tailored to her. I would definitely recommended Dr. Liu and the GI care office.

Dr. Liu is such a caring & knowledgeable doctor. He has been so great with diagnosing my daughter's condition (without ordering unnecessary tests) and was wonderful in easing my mind about the condition as well. I would highly recommend him to anyone that needs a pediatric GI doctor. So glad our family found him!

Our son was just diagnosed with Crohns. With in 1 minute of meeting him, we knew he was the right doctor to care for our son. Just an all around great doctor...kind, great bedside manners, compassionate, confident, professionalism, and he is so down to earth. Very thankful for him and all he has done for our son. We know he is in great hands!!!

My teenage daughter was suffering from regular heartburn for some time when we came to see Dr. Liu. Rather than rush to an endoscopy, Dr. Liu wanted her to try omeprazole for a few months to see if it would help. We ended up increasing her dosage which worked, but Dr. Liu explained that we needed to get her off as long term omeprazole usage is not a recommended course of action. We did up having an endoscopy which revealed all OK. Excellent attentive nurse Susan in Johns Creek office. A+++

My daughter is a patient of Dr.Liu.Last month she was given a diagnosis of Dysphasia. Dr.Liu and Nurse Susan gave us an appointment on the same day I called. Dr.Liu clearly explained on what was going on,and how he was going to treat it. We went through several tests to determine the issue and everything was negative. During that one month, Dr.Liu and Nurse Susan were very prompt in answering my long emails and questions. They both took exceptional care of my child. I would highly recommend them

I would highly recommend Dr. Liu. He was personable, informative, and followed up with a personal phone call. I don't know the last time a physician has done that! My daughter has sensory issues and not only did he get her right away he also lifted some of my mommy guilt.

My daughter has been a patient of Dr. Liu for seven years, up until she became an adult. The care and attention she received from him truly made the difference. Being diagnosed with a chronic illness at age 14 is very difficult for a girl, but Dr. Liu has always been warm, compassionate and caring. His approach to finding the right treatment and medications have made all the difference. His nurse, Susan Collins, is also exceptional. We will miss them.

Wonderful doctor who put us all at ease. We tried for years to battle our son's problems on our own and he immediately was able to get him right on track. Would highly recommend Dr. Liu to anyone looking for assistance with any pediatric GI issues. Also, the nurse Susan Collins is highly knowledgable as well and easily accessible. Very pleased.

Dr. Liu is amazing! My child has complex medical needs and Dr. Liu is always knowledgeable, kind and helpful. I love the office and that each doctor has a nurse. Dr. Liu's nurse, Susan, is exceptional. She is a special needs parent most valued resource! Love this team!

My daughter has been a patient of Dr. Liu for 5 years and we extremely pleased with his services. He is very professional and informative. As another patient stated, Dr. Liu not only cares about his patients but he cares about their families too. He never fails to ask me how my husband and younger child are doing. Dr. Liu's nurse, Susan, is just as amazing. She responds to all request in a timely manner and is always such a delight to speak with.

My daughter has been a patient of Dr. Liu for years. We could not be more pleased. He is extremely intelligent, very professional and one of the most genuine individuals we have ever met. He is warm, kind and truly cares for his patients as well as their families. Dr. Liu not only cares about his patients physical health but also their emotional well-being. Dr. Liu is the Gold Standard in pediatric care for kids with GI problems. He began caring for our son six years ago when life or death for Tomi was uncertain; he is directly responsible for life prevailing, and he will remain Tomi's GI doctor until adulthood separates them.
