Dr. Koenig is the probably the most Professional and Best Bedside Eye Doctor I have come across in my 67 years. I am a Veteran, I recieve most of my care at Zablocki V.A Hospital, who works with Frodert Hospital. Dr. Koenig was a specialist at Froedert. I've gone Dr. Koenig at Froedert because I had Cataracts . I can now see clearly now for at least a couple miles where I couldn't before. Was very pleased with the outcome of my cataract surgeries. Dr Koenig was very professional and explained everything in detail. He has a wonderful staff that works with him at both his office and in the surgery center.

I had relatively complicated cataract surgery in that I needed to have phakic lens removed first. I had my left eye completed in 2016 and the right eye completed in 2020. Dr. Koenig explained the procedures, the risks, and the potential problems with getting the right correction for my vision after surgery. His office staff and the staff for the surgery were helpful, attentive and actually very friendly and funny. All were open to having discussions to help past the time and explain procedures. My vision is 20-20 in both eyes and I could not be happier.

Dr. Koenig is a very good cornea specialist. He did a transplant in my left eye and the results are good. If I need to come in I can get to see him as needed with just a simple phone call.

I had the great fortune to have Dr. Steven Koenig treat me for cataract disease and surgically remove (cataract) and replace one eye lens. Dr. Koenig was extremely thorough with the pre-op visit, and explaining all details of the surgical procedure. At the time of surgery, Dr. Koenig’s technique, precise skill and communication was optimal, exhibits of a great surgeon (I am in the neurosurgical field, so I know traits of a great surgeon.) Additionally, before, during, and after the surgical procedure Dr. Koenig’s Team was professional and considerate. The pre-op/surgical/post op treatment was a success! Thank you, Dr. Koenig, for your high level of care.

Dr. Koenig is an extremely talented and highly skilled cornea surgeon and external corneal disease specialist. He has restored my vision 3 times with cornea transplants over the last 25 years. He always takes the time to explain my options and engages me in my eye care decisions which is much appreciated. He is truly a wonderful doctor (with lots of patience) and I would recommend him to anyone who wants the best cornea surgeon available. He has a pleasant and enjoyable personality which makes me feel he always has my best interest at heart.

Procedure was completed thoroughly and Dr Koenig made me feel comfortable with the risk/reward associated with a corneal transplant. Very satisfied with the surgical results: 20/20 vision. Diagnosis: Fuchs dystrophy.

I am forever grateful to Dr. Koenig and his team for restoring the gift of sight that had been steadily declining to the point the whole world was blurry and dull. He and his team were so professional and caring which allowed my wife and me to feel less anxious and gave us a very comfortable state of mind about my surgeries. Dr. Koenig is very professional. He listened to me and told me exactly what he was doing each step of the way as he was performing the cataract surgeries. I love my results..I feel like my eyesight is like it was at 18..everything is bright, fonts are crisp & I don't need glasses to read. This is the first day after my second surgery & I couldn't be happier!

Dr. Koenig has performed cataract surgery for my eyes and I could not be happier with the result. He is a very gentle touch physician and surgeon and I have great confidence in his skills.

I was referred to Dr Koenig by my primary care physician for my cataract surgery. He fully explained the procedure to me, as well as what to expect after (both short and long term). My eyesight was amazing post op, and I am a little over a year out for both eyes, and couldn't be happier. His technicians are efficient, thorough, and were very nice. Dr Koenig spent enough time with me to fully explain everything, and put me at ease both before the surgery and after. I have recommended several people to see him, and their comments echo mine. If you need cataract surgery, I definitely recommend him.

A wonderful, kind physician and great ophthalmic surgeon, whom I have known for many years, I cannot recommend him highly enough - 5 stars! Dr Koening did superb surgery for one eye. I will return to him for surgery on the other eye. He is empathetic, ethical, thoughtfully conservative in surgical philosophy, and a singularly good human being and person.

Dr. Koenig did both of my cataract surgeries. The preop consultation and measurements, surgeries and post op care were very professional and uneventful. As a retired ophthalmologist who has done thousands of these procedures I not only trust and respect his expertise but would highly recommend him to anyone with failing vision due to cataracts.

Dr Koenig corrected a poor cataract procedure by another doctor, clearing the cloudiness and greatly reducing the halo without increasing floaters. (As a matter of fact, it sometimes seems there are fewer floaters.)

20/15 vision in both eyes now. I had a very positive experience and recommend Dr. Koenig and his crew without hesitation. I did not have a strong prescription but spent two decades wearing glasses. 24hrs after surgery my day vision was better than it was with glasses. My friends who got Lasik elsewhere all have minor night vision issues, but after three months what night vision glare I've experienced is nearly gone. Dr. Koenig has all the latest technology - a CustomVue WaveFront/WaveScan system, VSS, iLasik (bladeless), the works. The price is a set rate and was comparable to national averages and another MKE center I spoke to that uses older technology. Dr. Koenig also works at Froedtert, an academic hospital, which is to say he handles all the rare and complex eye conditions that normal surgeons can't tackle, and he instructs resident (new) opthalmologists. The actual surgery happens off site at a brand new private facility, where Koenig is able to perform every surgery himself. Dr. Koenig's staff were polite and went out of their way to answer my questions. Like most surgeons, Dr. Koenig was more eager to talk about the upsides of surgery than the downsides. But his advice proved sound and I couldn't be much happier with the process and results. 20/15 vision in both eyes now. Dr Koenig did not adequately explain all of the possible things that could happen with my cataract surgery. I was told that I would not need glasses for distance. I do need them for distance. I think the technician who took eye measurements probably did not get that right. Also I think the doctor did not do accurate calculations for the lenses. They were not careful with these steps. Then he told me the lenses can't be replaced because it is too risky. I had one shot and the doctor blew it.
