Dr. Slade and his team restored my vision almost completely with double lens replacement. They are very patient with questions and very attentive throughout the process, including very conscientious after care. Recommend 100%

I just had Dr Slade perform lasik surgery on my second eye. He did the first one in 2019. I don’t have to wear glasses anymore. I can’t believe how well I can see now! It’s amazing. The staff is very kind. I highly recommend them.

Wouldn't recommend any of the corrective eye surgeries to anybody now I see blurry/hazy out of my left eye and sight wise isnt getting any better and cant even drive at night it has been over 3 months now, please make sure you do your homework on this surgery, and consider the factors

According to studies, many are not getting anywhere the good vision they were highly promised by these eye mills. Advice is given to surgeons and staffs how to deal with the “unhappy lied-to patients.” If they blotch patients’ promised vision, this office will NOT say what final vision outcome is. Obviously, only this is told to those few who are easily accurate at 20/20 even 2016 vision—those enthralled with new terrific vision. After 2 final visits and asking my vision outcome for months from Dr. Slade’s staff, I became one of these patients with an unknown vision outcome. Nowhere near what was highly promised by Dr. Slade himself. Finally learned from driver license renewal that I am barely the 20/40 combined eyes. Also, with a new year insurance, I managed affording to visit a local eye specialist to test and learn my vision is barely 20/40.

Absolutely stay away from this practice. My husband was scheduled to have his surgery done this Thursday morning, after initial visit and the follow up. This morning he got a call and they tell him that his surgery is cancelled due to “Dr. Slade changed his schedule”. Are you serious???? My husband has very demanding schedule and heavy travel for work, so he really had to work extremely hard to accommodate this surgery just to be blown away like that? He was offered to reschedule maybe sometime in December. If I could, I would rate this practice -5 stars. Looks like Dr. Slade has zero respect for his patients and their life and work commitments. For anyone who has demanding schedule and busy life, please make yourself a favor and stay away from this ridiculous practice!

Terrible bedside manner, extremely arrogant, unethical, and messed up my right eye during routine lasik enhancement. He charged an additional $1300 for procedure to (try to) fix the problem that HE created. Wound up paying over $6000 for lasik in total, and have vision that bothers me 24/7. One of the biggest regrets of my life!

After my brother had both eyes with lens replacement, he went on and on, how wonderful it was to see again clearly without glasses, I decided last July 2018 to have my lens replaced. Great experience. My husband has been struggling with his eyes for several years. The Doctors and staff explained everything an we were actually given options for the first time. We will proceed with surgery and feel very confident in our decision. Thanks Dr. Slade and Baker!!!

Dr Slade made the process seem very easy and I'm very happy with my vision.

I showed my husband the videos from Slade & Baker, he realized how professional this office is, he said he would come here if he needs cataract surgeries in the future. I am very happy to have both eyes done and seeing almost a 20/20 vision, with still one surgical eye a bit dilated. Doctor Slade was telling me he could imagine how well I could be after the eyes are healed, and I have the confidence too! I had the Symfony IOLs in both eyes, they are multifocal lens, super!

Though initially I was happy with surgery, my vision did not improve as much as I'd hoped in the following weeks afterwards. Perhaps a post-op procedure will make an improvement (?)

Horrible! Overpriced and they call you back and barter with their service! Weird! Looking for quality and a standard not bargain shopping! -⭐️

What a life changing experience. The staff treats you like family. I cannot say enough about the excellent physicians at Spade and Baker. From the initial visit to the check out process, your eyes are very valuable to the entire staff. The check in process is painless and they are extremely welcoming. These physicians will evaluate your eyes and determine an individualized plan of action based on their experience and training. Dr.Essa is a great asset to the Staff ! TRUST YOUR EYES HERE!!

Just finished (12/6/16) receiving my second intraocular lens (Trulign Toric) for replacement of my right eye cataract. I am so excited about the new vision I have - its priceless. Its bright with perfect vision both distant and close. Never had this vision with glasses, contacts or Lasik (30 yrs ago). The next day check-up by Dr. Baker and Nurse resulted in a happy dance by Dr. Baker with my excellent measurements, as he said "that's what we are here for", excellent vision - wow.

I had my LASIK/SMILE surgery about 2.5 weeks ago at Slade & Baker. I have extremely high myopia (about -9) and astigmatism (-3). I went to a few other doctors before I went to slade & baker, they all told me I wasn't a good candidate for LASIK and my option was ICL which would have cost me around $10k. Cindy gets the award for the best customer service for sure! Very prompt, polite, and informative pre, during, and post op. Slade and Baker team was tremendously courteous and beyond kind to me during my visit. I appreciate all that you guys did to take care of me. Truly a 1st class operation. I can see so well now!

I traveled from another state for a special procedure at the recommendation of my local eye doctor. When I made the appointment, it was to specifically discuss the procedure and ask questions of Dr Slade.Early in my exam after the usual testing and long wait,I asked when I would be seeing the doctor,only to be told he was in surgery on that day and he would call in a few weeks to let me know if I was a candidate. I left never seeing him and received a call several weeks later not by him but a secretary asking about scheduling the procedure.Luckily I had made an appointment to see another MD on the same day while in Houston and had him do the procedure.As an MD myself, I would tell other patients that if the first time you meet your doctor is a few minutes before your surgery. you may want to consider someone else. Staff is superb. I am so happy with my first cataract surgery, I'm going back for the other eye.

Drs. Slade & Walton did LASIK on my eyes in May and I went home and slept for 4 hours. I woke up with perfect vision. In fact even better then 20/20. I did a lot of research when searching for a LASIK surgeon. I'm an emergency room doctor and would not settle for anything less then the best. After reviewing the incredible work that Drs. Slade & Walton have done in the area of refractive surgery I trusted them completely with my eyes. They are on the cutting edge of technology. Recommend to all!

I went to Dr. Slade because he had been referred to me by friends who had success in their LASIK surgeries that were completed about 9 years ago. I was nervous initially going, but the staff made me feel very comfortable. They are all very nice, courteous, and professional every time I go. My lasik process was great! Most of all I enjoy being able to see! I definitely recommend them!

I had lasik done by Dr. Slade during a thunderstorm. He personally addressed all my concerns beforehand, told me a story about his son, and was very nice and laid back. Only 3 hours after the surgery, I could see perfectly with only mild discomfort. The day after, the discomfort was gone and I went to the galleria and out to lunch for the first time without contacts or glasses. I'm so glad I decided on Slade & Baker instead of the other vision centers nearby!

A coworker recommended Slade & Baker for LASIK surgery to me and the total experience has been outstanding. The staff from the front desk to the nurse that holds your hand during the procedure could not have been more friendly or caring. Dr. Walton who performed the procedure was awesome and has seen me at each of my follow-up visits. I now have 20/20 vision again and could not be more pleased. I highly recommend Dr. Walton and the team at Slade & Baker.

I recently had cataract surgery on both eyes and I must say my experience has been exceptional. I was apprehensive about the surgery but my first experience with Delfina Villegas eased me into a phenomenal level of confidence with all the Doctors and Staff . Dr. Slade is a gifted surgeon. I cannot say enough about how his work has changed my daily life. Dr. Baker provides a sense of calm and confidence that truly left me with no doubts whatsoever. And, their young associate, Dr. Essa, is a joy to deal with. The entire group of technicians and nurses that facilitate this practice are top quality. I cannot imagine having a better experience with a group of medical professionals.

My experience with Dr. Slade has been stellar. I was recently visiting him at his practice in Houston and was once again reminded of how great of an ophthalmologist he is. As a former LASIK patient I can really appreciate the technology and experience he brings to the table. Considering the amount of patients he has helped and his history with the success of LASIK across the nation I think he is a marvelous choice. After all the research I had done on LASIK, I walked into Dr. Slade's office confident he would be the one to perform my procedure since he seemed like the best choice and price did not matter when it came to my eyes. Yet, I walked out uncomfortable and distrusting of the care that would be provided by the members of his clinic. Disappointed beyond belief. I never met Dr. Slade and may never will because my visit at his clinic was not a pleasant experience. I have never experienced being treated so poorly by a medical doctor or anyone in the medical field. I am saddened that a member of his office reacted to my questions with such vague, under-minding arrogance and a tone of annoyance. He insulted me by under-minding my ability to comprehend information pertaining to my inquiries. His unwillingness to build my confidence in the facility by providing answers unspecific to me, unless prodded was extremely uncomfortable. For many people, inquiring about medical procedures is difficult, intimidating and a confusing topic to understand as well as discuss with a specialist and that is why the medical industry encourages individuals to educate themselves and brave enough to ask questions. It is even encouraged in their consent form so, naturally I would be thrown back by his reaction. These were the same question I asked other MDs in his field. They were ALL receptive to my questions and provided clear and satisfying answers which would naturally build my confidence in the care that would be offered. Medical providers who refuse to present respectful customer service and appear to be jaded by their profession should not claim to be professionals. Dr. Slade was very helpful to me in answering my questions regarding the pros and cons of "epi-on" vs. "epi-off" cross-linking. If you have keratoconus you should definitely look into this procedure because it stops the progression of the disease. The procedure is safe, but it is not yet FDA approved in the US. However, Dr. Slade is now doing it for patients through a study. Set up an appointment to see if you qualify.
