Always friendly and caring. Professional all the way. Love the nurses there and my doctor is great!

Sports Medicine has always provided excellent service. DR. Schroeder fit me in his full schedule which I am extremely grateful for since I have had multiple fractures & even a dislocation in the past and walked on them for days without seeking help right away. Dr. Schroeder has already done 2 foot surgeries on my other foot years ago and I trust him completely.

Great Doctor and surgeon. He is good listener and communicator.

The scheduling people were awesome! Thank you, especially to Gabby!! Had a struggle with my pc and insurance, but they were able to get me in as soon as possible.

Most importantly they were able to get me in almost immediately, the referral had just been written by my primary MD the day before. Incredibly nice staff, very professional. MD was attentive and very pleasant.

Dr. Schroeder is an outstanding physician. He is personable, listens well and seeks to understand what is going on and works to solve it. I would definitely recommend him!

Did a great job on my foot, which had 14 fractures from a fall. He basically rebuilt my foot and relieved much of the pain. He gave me clear options to deal with my conditions and helped me understand the consequences of the actions. Dr Schroeder, his PA Jennifer, and the entire staff at Sports Medicine Oregon were fantastic. I went to Dr Schroeder after recommendations from two separate friends, for a second opinion on my Jones fracture. While I was reluctant to get surgery initially (never had surgery before), I really appreciated his thorough and non-pressured approach to helping me understand options, and it was clear that surgery was the best option for me (4mm displacement and 2 fractures). I’m so glad I choose surgery with a trusted surgeon, which reduced my time in a cast significantly and shortened my time in PT, which after 7 weeks I’m back to running. Just looking and clearly has many negative reviews.

I agree with the reviewer who stated that he felt Dr. Schroeder is burned out. Although he showed occasional moments of interest in my condition during the two visits I have had with him, he truly did not seem to care about anything I had to say. When a doctor is a specialist in a field such as orthopedics, patients tend to expect compassion and at least a modicum of interest in finding solutions to pain and disability.

Dr Schroeder changed my life! Not only is he an exceptional surgeon but he has great bedside manner. He performed 2 surgeries to fix another surgeons mistake and i can now be as active as i want. I backpack most weekends and snowshoe in the winter. I just completed 70 miles on PCT, hiked south sister and did 52 miles in sister’s wilderness in the last 3 weeks. He is excellent!! He is really not a good doctor in my experience. He seems burnt out and I don't think he he spends more than a few seconds thinking about what is going on for each patient. That probably works 95% of the time but when things are more complicated / unusual he is just incapable of being motivated enough to help.

After 15 years of ankle sprains from dance and basketball, I found Dr. Schroeder. I appreciate that he wasn’t quick to jump to surgery, and we explored all options before deciding upon surgery. He did a fantastic job. Great care and bedside manner, professional and thorough. This was 7 years ago, and my ankle/foot is doing great.

We were very pleased with Dr Schroeders surgery on our daughters ankle. From the first Appt all the way through to surgery. He was very patient & helpful with our questions. We had a wonderful nurse during her recovery time after surgery. Everyone we had dealt with in the office and nurse were very pleasant.

I have had several visits with Dr. Schroeder because I have had issues with my left foot for a few years. I had pain so bad that some days it was hard to walk on. We tried less invasive measures before we went to surgery. My surgery was so successful! It was a bone spur, tendon damage, achilles extension. After the bandages were removed, it looked really good. I was so impressed with the lack of pain and swelling after the surgery. I followed Dr. Schroeder's directions to a T! I would recommend Dr. Schroeder for any foot needs.)

Very poor diagnostic, communication and surgical skills. I suggest going to a different doctor if you need treatment. I had pain in the top and bottom of my foot. When conservative measures failed, Dr. Schroeder seemed quite annoyed with me, told me my symptoms were very unusual (as if he did not believe me) and curtly ordered an MRI. The MRI revealed several issues with my foot, but he only focused on and diagnosed the most obvious one which required surgery. I had several very key questions prior to the surgery which his poorly trained staff gave me multiple, differing and incorrect answers to. When I pointed this out to him, I do not think he really cared. He had no interest in finding out who said what to give them the proper training. As for the surgical outcome, I continued to have pain with every step post-surgery. I went to another doctor who correctly diagnosed the other remaining issues via doing a MUCH more thorough exam and listening quite carefully to my description of the pain, reviewing the MRI and x rays, and also doing a CT scan. Doctor Schroeder is very professional and an excellent doctor. Doctor Schroeder repaired my broken foot after an accident and I'm recovering nicely. I knew of Doctor schroeder from my experience with my wife and her ankle replacement. Doctor Schroeder does an excellent job at explaining your options for your treatment. Oregon sports medicine is an excellent facility and I had a great experience working with them in their staff.. I would recommend them to family and friends if you had any specialized Orthopedic needs. Doctor Schroeder is very professional and an excellent doctor. Very poor diagnostic, communication & surgical skills. Go to a different doctor. I had pain on the top & bottom of my foot. When conservative measures failed, Dr. Schroeder seemed annoyed, as if he did not believe me. He curtly ordered an MRI revealing several issues. He only diagnosed the most obvious one requiring surgery. Poorly trained staff gave differing & incorrect answers to questions. No pain relief post surgery. 2nd surgeon correctly diagnosed all issues requiring 2nd surgery.

Not a five star review. A one star review. All I know is a year and a half after my achilles tendon surgery, I continue to suffer far more pain on a daily basis than I ever did before the procedure. Communication was extremely poor, and he basically started to ignore me when the healing process reversed and I complained of increased pain. I am not at all sure I needed the extensive surgery I had for this problem. I am left seeking help from other physicians. It has affected every aspect of my daily quality of life Not a five star review. A one star review. The worst experience I've had with a Dr. I thought I trusted to see it through. I never felt he communicated well. I felt bullied into the procedure, and he had minimal contact with me afterward. He seemed annoyed I had post surgical pain, and took no responsibility whatsoever. After a few more visits he just sent me on my way, even though I was so worse off than before the surgery! Beware of this Dr.!!! It all looks good on paper, but huge mistake. I will never walk without pain again

On my first visit, Dr. Schroeder wanted to jump right into scheduling surgery for a bunion removal, achilles tendon extension and neuroma removal. This seemed very aggressive to me, so I went for a second opinion and found out that with proper shoe inserts and stretching exercises that I could heal the pain I have had. After a month of adhering to this advice, my foot feels so much better--all without surgery. Everyone is different, but be sure to get a second or third opinion.

Dr Schroeder did surgery on my Foot almost a year ago. Since then I've suffered significant and daily pain with every step and nerve damage . I've seen 3 other surgeons who have all said what was done was aggressive and unnecessary. I've since had another surgery to remove the hardware and have lost time From work, skipped family activities and trips, and been an emotional wreck. Dr Schroeder gave me no indication this could happen, and showed no remorse for my pain. He's NOT trustworthy!!
