Dr Stephen Reintjes saw my husband this morning for a follow-up on spine surgery (adding metal!) about six months ago . Reintjes and his nurses enriched our lives! Thanks to him FOREVER!!!

Dr Reintjes Jr And his staff are Sincerely concerned about your health. Dr Reintjes Jr will Do everything Possible to diagnose And correct your health issues. I can speak from experience he is by far the best of the best neural surgeons there is. Also I know several other people Who have had surgery from Dr Reintjes Jr And they feel the same way I do. I saw Dr Stephen Reintjas for an issue in my lower back. The pain in my back had greatly restricted my ability to walk, do stairs, squat, or sit for any length of time. He was so good to work with me and inform me of all the options that could help. I chose to have surgery. Dr Reintjas talked to me before and after the surgery. He was very honest with me. The surgery required a twelve week recovery. One again Dr Reintjas told me what to expect. He also said if I had any problems or questions to call him. I saw him on Thursday February 23 for my last post op visit. I am happy to say that the surgery was successful not only from Dr Reintjas view but from mine as well. I am now able to walk without pain. I also ride my exercise bike at least 2 miles per day with no pain. I can squat, bend and do the stairs pain free. I am pleased with the outcome of the surgery. I highly recommend Dr Stephen Reintjas to my friends with back issues and I do it with a smile on my face. Thank you Dr Reintjas for all you did for me.

I went to a neurosurgeon at St Luke's 1 1/2 yrs ago. for the same problem. He painted my future bleak with limitations on weight restrictions with what I could carry, or what I could do. The neck, arm, hand pain have continued and is contant. Dr. Reintges patiently listened to my fears, reviewed my ex rays, and explained the surgery, and most importantly that my life would not be hindered in any way.

After been given the runaround by other providers Dr. Reitjas was very honest from day one! I was so afraid of spine surgery but Dr. Reitjas answered all of my questions and by the end of my appointment I had no doubt or fears. He is kind, patient and knowledgeable. He performed my surgery without incident as well as addressing all of my concerns afterwards. Dr. Reitjas has an excellent bedside manner and actually cares a great deal for his patients. His staff (nurses, NP and PA) are great as well. If I had to do it all over he is the only surgeon I would allow and trust to perform a spinal surgery on me. Thank you Dr. Reitjas and STAFF!

My name is Tim Cole. I know that I can hide my name. Dr. Stephen Reintjes Jr, IS THE BEST OF THE BEST Neurosurgeons. Thanks to my back surgery he performed, I am back at my exercise routine again!! I am a very physically active individual and Mechanical Engineer. I jog, powerwalk, use the elliptical, do squats, lift weights (stopped heavy lifting in 3-2020), have done deep stretches from my 20s to now my 60s. I injured my back very seriously in 2021, helping someone move some very heavy furniture. I continued to regularly do my walking exercise routine, but it was very painful, and I also went to PT. I started having HORRIFIC twisting cramping nerve pain from my lower back to my left leg sciatica to my calf to my toes. Finally, when Dr. Reintjes evaluated me and saw my MRI report, he told me how critical my problems were and that 3 things in my back REQUIRED surgery. He said confidently, "I can fix that". I received a call from his office that someone had cancelled their surgery appointment, and I was asked can I come on July 1, 2022, for the surgery. I accepted. The next morning, July 2, a nurse was walking with me up and down a few stairs very carefully and I was sent home later that day. I meticulously followed Dr. Reintjes’ PT orders for weeks and walked the distances according to his orders. It was painful and I hated taking medicine and my wife thought I would never walk normally again. With Dr. Reintjes’ EXCELLENT SURGERY and guidance, I now power-walk again and I am up to 4 + miles at 3.8 to 3.9 miles per hour as of February 13, 2023, and I'm 64 years old as of this writing. I'm back to doing EVERYTHING I was doing exercise wise. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Dr. Stephen Reintjes Jr. He needs a 10.0 NO QUESTIONS ASKED. Too, his nursing staff were ALWAYS courteous and available to answer my questions.

Dr. Reintjes Jr. is a very professional and caring surgeon. He has always been very honest and up front with my care. I will highly recommend him and his staff!!

My arrival was promptly acknowledged by the receptionists in Dr. Reintjes office, and I was escorted to a comfortable room soon thereafter. The nurse came first to do her interview and assessment, then the Dr. I was given the opportunity to explain what actions I have taken to deal with my condition and how I’ve managed the pain while living as normal a “quality life” as possible. I was reassured this practice would be on an on-call basis available going forward. Thank you Dr. Reintjes and staff!

I've only had one appointment with Dr. Reintjes and learned that I will need to have lumbar surgery in the next few months. While I do not want surgery, I left our meeting with a feeling of confidence in him. He was kind, caring, and took his time explaining what is to come and why. I've liked and appreciated my interaction with him thus far.

Dr. Reintjes Jr. did an absolute fantastic job with my fusion in July. He is a great doctor and knows his stuff. I used to see his father and now I see him. If I ever have any more problems I'll definitely see him again.

I'm pleased to say after taking a head dive off my Rig split my head crushed my throat & nasal passages and broke my arm in 27 pieces and yet never stopped falling with alot of crying and pushing my way through Dr's, Dr Stephen L Reintjes in less than 15 minutes told me why and I can be fixed..... so Incredibly amazing I feel like victory has knocked on my door. Dr. Reintjes is an excellent surgeon. I had surgery Sept of 2019 and I have never had a more dedicated Doctor. Surgery went great along with my outcome. Highly recommend. I have only high remarks for him.

If you have selected Dr. Reintjas Sr. for your neurosurgery you've made the right decision. Dr. Reintjas Sr. has performed two lumbar surgeries for me with absolute success. I would highly recommend him for any type of spinal health conditions.

I was pleased with how thorough Dr. Reintjes Sr was on my evaluation. He was friendly and courteous and took time to explain my condition and that surgery was not necessary. I was very relieved to hear him say "we're going to avoid surgery!" and it felt as if he was truly glad to be able to tell me that!

Phenomenal surgeon

This doctor is amazing. He was thorough, polite and most importantly confident in what needed to be done in order to get me back to restored health with minimal leg and foot weakness and numbness. Every employee of the hospital I spoke with that asked me who did my back surgery, also highly recommended him for any surgery themselves or any of their family members ever needed. I’m not sure that I understand patients not liking his bedside manner. He is straight to the point and does not “coddle” his patients which I respect. He is a typical surgeon and has no bedside manner whatsoever. He yawned the whole time he was talking to me. Amazing! He is conservative with the knife. He relates to you and is a straight shooter. If you want to tell him what to do because you are a webmd expert find someone else.

I had a low back surgery about 10years ago with Dr. REINTJES. The surgery went well and I wouldnt go to anyone else for any future surgeries involving the spine. I can overlook bedside manor issues that many other reviews complain about on this site. I want someone who is direct, serious, and to the point which can be perceived as pompous by some people. Results are what matters!

Referred by another surgeon who said, "If I had the back injury you have there is only one surgeon in town I would allow to do my surgery." That was all I needed to hear. 17 years later, I ended up with another back injury, another surgery, another excellent outcome thanks to Dr. Reintjes. Today, I live without back pain thanks to the skills and knowledge of this amazingly talented surgeon. Pompous? No! Arrogant? No! Confident? Yes! He definitely improved my quality of life! Forever grateful!

I am so thankful we found Dr. Reintjes. He performed surgery on my husband's spine, and it was a miracle. My husband was in pain and walking with a cane, but the surgery removed the pain and he is walking and feeling wonderful. We have our life back, even going to the fitness center. Dr. Reintjes has operated on me 3 times and I highly recommend him. He is professional, thorough and listens to you your concerns. I overlook his bedside manner, because I know his skill is excellent. The nurses I have talked with at North Kansas Hospital all concur with me.

This is very professional office. I was seen right away with no wait time. Dr. Reintjes is direct and to the point. He reviewed my MRI with me, and ordered a CT Myelogram. On my follow-up visit he reviewed the CT and explained the surgery I needed. Some people may not appreciate his bed side manner, as he is direct and to the point. But I feel he is focusing on your care, not ideal chitchat. I respect that.

Great doctor

Terrible experience.having to go back under knife again same surgery but definetly a different surgeon n hospital .he omits complaints out of his notes n records to cover his butt .i told him morning after surgery that my left foot was totally numb n that something was not right .he assured be that it would go away in a year well it did not only got worse ..i would never recommend him ..in my opinion he needs to take his arrogant attitude and his knives and hang them up .and retire immediately.

He abused my body in a very rude and very illegal way. I told the cops and they did nothing but laugh, as they knew him and thought he was an innocent man. The MRI didnt even show anything and i became very very sick with my stomach. Then around a month ago i was diagnosed with lung cancer. Since his MRI was false i wasnt able to be treated the right way and now my life span is 3 years. Dont go to him unless you want to die, like harambe. Dr. Rentjes has performed surgery on me more than once with great results.

Amazing!!! He is very straight forward. Doesn't play games. Honest. If you want a doctor to coddle you and sugarcoat you, he is not the one. But if you want someone who knows his stuff, he is an amazing doctor.

As with many other reviews here, I found him to be pompous and condescending. I left there confused and upset at how he treated me. I cancelled all tests and the surgery. No one that treats me like that is going to cut on me, and he was going on about a different surgery I hadn't even heard of. I tried to ask questions and he was unbelievably rude. Four other doctors and years of tests but he said my spine is fine. It was surreal. I'm now getting the correct surgery with another doctor.

gave me the results and recommended what was necessary for my situation- I had weak and numbness in my leg- I had surgery on Tuesday march21 2017- yes 2 days ago- I am now at home up and walking around- from the moment I woke up in the recovery room I could feel the difference- no numbness and a little strength in my leg- I personally love his straight to the point , and his confidence was very reassuring- I would certainly recommend Dr Reintjes to everyone- Thank you I feel truly blessed Andy

I like Dr. Reintjes because he is direct and to the point. He has no problem answering your questions directly without all the hesitation and doctor talk you get from other physicians. He was able to diagnose my problem without alot of unneccasary tests or making me wait another month to fix the problem. Some people may not like is bed side manner, as he is direct and to the point, for me that is a bonus. I will be returning anytime I have a problem with my back.

This doctor did not care to listen to a word I said, was pompous and rude, very uncaring. He acted as though I were wasting his time. Told me I did not need surgery and there was nothing wrong with my spine even though my neurologist thought the complete opposite. My MRI report stated that I have the very problems that he couldn't seem to see that two other doctors saw.

Worst bedside manner I've ever dealt with, came in threw my file on the table, never looked at my MRI. Said to get PT. Wouldn't entertain any questions, he was in and out in 2-3 min. After I was recommended there by my pain doc. I was told by a nurse that he likely wouldn't operate on me because I was overweight and that posed extra risks that he did not want to take. I went to CVS last Febuary to fill out a script, left the store, sat in my front seat, scooted myself over to the right, felt a sharp pain in my lower back and lost ALL feeling from my waist down on my right side. The pain was unbearable. I went to the ER, than to my GP, than to pain mgt, than phy. therapy Pain mgt didnt work, phy therapy left me in worse shape then when I went in, had two MRI's , 3 doctors read them, clue less, finally a friend told me about their success with Dr. Reintjes. Made an apt that week, in a friday, he looked at the 2 MRI's and said you have a bone chip laying on your spinal cord, 3 others doctors didn't see this OMG, set up my sugery Tuesday morning and I walked out of Northland Hospital, PAINLESS, Wednesday afternoon. I loved how he listened and probed and then went to view the MRI. Excellent rapport and seemed to have a very wry sense of humor. Surgery was great and he fix my back! shocking rude terrible 1 1\2 hr late for appointment, less than 60 seconds in room stated 3 times that there was nothing wrong with my back, unlike 4 other doctors who stated i needed surgery

Knew within 30 seconds, it wasn't going to work out. I had a list of questions to ask-did not get a chance to ask any of them. He is very condescending and pompous. He asked a question and I asked him to repeat- He acted like i was asking him to sacrifice his first born! Some say he is a good surgeon-don't know don't care. He may be a good mechanic, but he detests the person he is working on! Better to find a good surgeon and someone that actually cares about your body.

He is a provider for Farmer's Ins, Workman's Comp. He is in this for the money, I feel. He gave my fiancee' a note to retrun to work, without examining him. He did not ask him if he was capable of working. The first office visit he recommended surgery, and the next time he saw him, he told him he would not do surgery because of his ITP, when he told him on the first visit it would not be a problem. If you are sent to him for a Work Comp claim, I would fight it. He is unethical.

My boyfriend recently had surgery on the 15th of may. He is already feeling better and highly recommends this surgeon to anyone. He has had this pain for over 2 years and not even a week later he is feeling great. He had a ruptured disk that 40% of it was in the spinal canal. Surgeon said it was the worst he has seen this year. He is getting around great! Thanks to him I will soon have him back and running around again. This by far was the WORST experence I have EVER had with a Dr... I would not reccomend him to anyone, Arrogant and, rude! Did Not access any of my problems! I felt belitted and Anxious the whole time!
