He nearly killed my husband in 2001 and let him PERMANENTLY disabled. He has had to have 4 other surgeries because of what this “doctor”. He will forever have to deal with his abdominal wall adhering to his bowel causing obstructions because the mucosa between the muscles and the organs had to be used to fix his mistake. On top of all of that he lied over and over to us about it. The last surgery my husband had to have to remove an obstruction he ended up with pneumonia and a blood clot and spent over 60 days in the ICU and nearly died... AGAIN. We nearly lost everything because of this man... he had to quit his job, go on disability, we lost a brand new car we had gotten the week before the surgery, we nearly lost our house. I had to cut back my hours to care for him and during the stress of all of it I lost a baby. This man is NOT caring or compassionate. I would not let this man do surgery on my worst enemy if they were already dead

For the review posted before this one. We must be talking about a different doctor. This Dr Heinzeman messed me up for good after Nissen Fundoplication. My life changed for the worse. He might know about minor surgeries but he sure was not experienced on my surgery. I have gone to 3 follow up with 3 different doctors and all have said my wrap is too tight too long and needs to be removed. This is an awful surgery to even think about going through it again because of being in inexperienced hands. Doctors need to be honest and walk away from a situation when they are not well versed with the situation. But greed takes over. The patient is secondary and the oath they took they can’t even remember what it said. I suggest you look for many opinions before you put yourself in his hands. My life is a mess. I can no longer eat or even enjoy a glass of wine without throwing up. Run away from this practice and go to the Mayo Clinic where patient care is first. He removed my gallbladder today. He is fast, friendly and caring. I am home now, a little sore, but not having to take anything for pain. I would highly recommend.

I was having gallbladder problems for 2.5 yrs and, upon becoming pregnant, those problems only increased. I was sent to dr. Heinzman and not only was he the nicest doctor I've ever seen, but he legitimately makes you feel cared about and taken care of. Absolutely my favorite doctor! First surgery ever, and day of surgery, he comes to check in on patients. He reminded me I was in good hands and that my baby would be safe and taken care of. He is FANTASTIC!!! Spot on very thorough.. Makes sure you understand game plan treatment and recovery process.. Small issues with office staff but I was in pain when calling so it may have been 90% me 10% staff. Dr Heinzman is 100% in my book and he is all I worry about..
