Dr. Kamel & his staff are so professional, kind & caring. I've enjoyed the experience this office provides.
Dr. Kamel is an amazing doctor. He took such good care of my grandmother. Very knowledgeable and kind. Would highly recommend
Great experience, I’ve been going to Dr. Kamel for years and have always been happy with my visits. Highly recommend.
Excellent service, everyone is so nice and welcoming. The medical staff and Dr. Kamel really show they care and make a connection with their patients and make you feel comfortable.

I miss the fish tanks in the lobby.
I’ve been going here for about 7 years and I would not have anyone else The whole staff is wonderful Dr Ashley is the sweetest and best Dr
I transferred to this clinic when my regular Nurse Practitioner went to work here. She is still great. The clinic not so much. I have had so many prescription debacles. 90 day supply but they wrote conflicting instructions so it could only be filled for 45 days. 30 day prescription written to only be filled every 31 days. Follow-up visits that are after prescriptions run out so you have to make special visit just to get refills. Prescriptions sent to the wrong pharmacies to be filled. Their refill portal is a great idea but it is out of service most of the time. Good luck calling anyone. They use an answering service so you MIGHT get a call back in 24-48 hours. You have to go into their office to get a response. That sure cuts into someone's work day doing it that way. I transferred to this clinic when my regular Nurse Practitioner went to work here. Like many others I have noticed the service deteriorate. Staff are unfriendly and robotic. When Walmart sent them three requests for a refill on my diabetic sensors it was only when I called them that they denied getting the requests BUT then said they would not allow them to be filled because I had not been in for an appointment. Would not even give me ONE sensor while I waited for my scheduled appointment. This supposedly came directly from Dr. Kamel. So here I am with no ability to monitor my sugar until the appointment and they don't care and supposedly its the DOCTOR that made the final decision. Needless to say I will be looking for another doctor. Place has gotten too big and too much of a money mill for my taste. Can't wait to take my business somewhere else. Fine way to treat a retired military person and long time patient. My mother went there for many many years, she also will be moving to another doctor. She never got to see a doctor when she went there anyway - he is way too busy and important now to give any personal care anymore. Like many others I have noticed the service deteriorate. Ashley is the best, very helpful, caring and attentive. I've never had a problem with care but unlike John I adult and make sure I have my regularly scheduled appointments. Dr. Kamel infact sees many patients in a day and when I've ran out of diabetic supplies they made sure I was taken care of all you have to do is go to the office and see If they have extras. Love Dr Kamal. Very friendly, and knowledgeable and has helped my A1C get back on track. He said he could do it in 3 visits and it was exactly that.
Extremely happy with Dr. Kamel. He's very kind, compassionate and informative. The staff is the best! We love this office.
I love my nurses and Mrs.Bethany and my Dr, Dr.Kamel...Whenever I feel like something isn't right with me or my thyroid they immediately order tests and exams to make sure that I'm doing well. And they also make sure I have plenty of medicine! Very caring staff! I've been with them since 2014.. blessings to them.. Arnicia

Good Doctor but staff is rude and unhelpful.
The office is filling Dr. Kamel as my provider. I have never even seen Dr. Kamel They were filing Bethany Gillman as my provider who I have been seeing. I told them that my copays are only $30, but when they charge out Dr. Kamel it is $50. So now they are charging Dr. Kamel even though I have never seen him. They said he signed off on the chart, I’m sure they made sure he did. This office is so dishonest. They seem to be all about the money. My insurance company said I need to file a dispute. Dr. Kamel and Ashli Brooks are amazing. They really do genuinely care about their patients ! The office just needs to remember to turn their call lines back on after lunch and off when they close not 20 minutes before . I am a severe diabetic and 8/10 times I call It goes straight to the answering service and it will be 2:30 sometimes . I’ve called at 10 am one morning and went straight to the answering service . This Doctors Office is a great place! They make sure you're comfortable! They're very polite and professional too!
My wife has been going to see Dr. Kamel for many years. He is knowledgeable, personable, and is genuinely concerned with her health. It would be hard to find a better endocrinologist.
I started seeing Dr Kamel in his smaller office. He had very obviously outgrown the place. I love the new building. It is much more organized and makes sense. As far as an endocrinologist, he is one of the few that actually listens to his patients. I have multiple rare endocrine issues, and he is well versed in them all. He also is open to discussing new and/or different treatments, and trying them if he thinks they'll be helpful. Most endocrinologists I've seen, and I've seen many across the country, are only well versed in diabetes and thyroid disorders. Most will say they treat other issues, but once I actually get into the appointment, they don't know much and are at a loss when I bring up various treatments etc. People complaining about him collecting copays, deductibles, and coinsurance amounts up front - most doctors and medical facilities do this now. There are a lot of people that do not pay, and the doctor then had to increase fees in the long term to make up for how many do not pay. Also, every medical provider that has a contract with an insurance carrier will have rules they have to follow. Often, those contracts state whether the provider can collect up front or not. A lot of those contracts state they can and should. That doesn't mean he's all about the money. That means he's wanting to get paid for his services. He can't work for free, and specialists always cost more. Dr Kamel is a great endocrinologist, as far as I'm concerned. He's very knowledgeable and he LISTENS. Dr. Kamel is a very kind, knowledgeable, and professional man. Since switching to his care, my a1c has dropped significantly and I feel like I’m making progress. He encourages his patients without making them feel horrible. If you are looking for an endocrinologist, this is where you want to be.
Diabetes is fully under control. Awesome. Contacting this clinic however is HORRIBLE! They send the phone calls to a country that cannot understand English, cannot process English and simply does not know English. I just have a SIMPLE questions like, "can I please have testing strips sent to the pharmacy?" or "can I please reschedule. You cannot ask these Q's on line, it's beyond frustrating.
Very caring doctor!!
Dr. Kamel is very professional! He makes sure you understand what his concerns are concerning your situation. His office staff are very polite and caring about you. Their seat in the waiting room is very comfortable! I highly recommend Dr. Kamel!
I have been a patient of Dr. Kamel for almost 10 years . I could not ask for any better care . He helped me significantly getting more healthy. The staff is helpful and friendly. I trust him 100%
Very disappointed in the lack of care my son was diagnosed for type 1 diabetes these doctors gave me bad information and also put us in a group to teach us about having diabetes and the others in the group also had type 2 diabetes and gestational diabetes. Which I now know are completely different. and the doctors and nurses gave us a really bad information they seem to care more about the elective procedures that they do then giving good care to dig type 1 diabetics that come into their clinic. Dr. Kamel is awesome and that's something I rarely say about an endocrinologist. I have Graves' disease and he has been managing my thyroid prior to my pregnancy. By far my favorite doctor to see. The thing i appreciate the most is Dr. Kamel respects your time and ALWAYS takes me at my scheduled appointment (if not earlier). My wife was diagnosed by Dr. Kamel with hyperthyroidism and prescribed radioactive iodine treatment. When I brought up how her symptoms did not reflect that diagnosis, I was treated disrespectfully and he argued with me that he was right and I was wrong. Desperate to find a cure for my wife's condition, we agreed to the treatment despite my opposition. After the treatment, it was discovered that some of the hormone medication prescribed was the root cause of her condition, not the thyroid! Now she's hypothyroid and has to take medication for the rest of her life AND she's gaining weight at an alarming rate despite healthy diet and lots of exercise.

15 mins. in/out...got to discuss nothing. He handed me off to my allergist. Left me sitting in the room with no clue as to what to do next.
Was supposed to go have blood work done. Hurricane hit and labs were not available to take blood. I ran out of my prescription during this time. Called office and wrote them on web site to see if i could get another script till labs opened and I would get blood work done but in sitting here 3mts later with no pituitary replacement drug and doctor office will not call back. Guess it's about money and they want me to get a appointment for a hormone replacement drug that I pay out for. To go have blood work done. But they could call it in me have blood work done and then come see them about result. No with them they have no compassion about patient and don't understand that we are all rebuilding from storm and need the extra money. They want me to pat 100$ to come have prescription refill after just seeing them and come back again after blood work. Terrible service and attitude. After years of getting moved around in his practice and many medically unnecessary test being run I decided to voice my concerns about his practice. Seeing a doctor at this practice is like drawing a name from a hat, you don't know who you will see until they enter the room. I calmly explained my frustration about this being my second appointment in a row that they had failed to obtain test results and had wasted my time, the only reason for the appointment was to review the labs. Dr. Kamel stood up and said "I'm done with you, leave my office now or I will call the police." He discharged me as a patient. From other reviews I have read this seems to be common practice for him. All of his staff I have encountered have been very professional and helpful. I’m very glad my PCP referred me toDr. Kamel. I would highly recommend Dr. Kamel and staff to everyone.
This reviews most be paid for. This has never been my experience. He is the worst, most un caring doctor i have ever been to.
Dr Kamel and his staff are great. I never have to wait long and Bethany his PA is fantastic. She listens to me and is very helpful at helping me navigate through my issues. Great doctor that knows his stuff!!!!
Very good doctors and staff. I was always seen in a reasonable time . I have Hashimoto's disease which has affected my life . I feel a 100% better today . This is one of few doctors I ever met that really listen and treat me as a person
Absolutely horrible doctor. Has never even met me or seen me as a patient or has any of my medical records but decided that he was discharging me as a patient. I have never been a patient of his and made one appointment where they screwed up my insurance and I could not be seen because of it. I just made a second appointment today and they immediately told me I was being discharged from his care at his order. I asked why and they wouldn't tell me. They just simply said I was discharged. This guy is a joke and so is his whole office the Institute of Endocrinology. They suck you in, take your money and don't truly care about your health. Just what's going to put money in their pockets. My lats doctor, I didn't have insurance for a month and he charged me $50 for the office visit. This place, wanted $188 for just a visit. Nothing more. No exams, no x-rays, just to get a meeting with the doctor. $188 because they screwed up my insurance information. Talked to my insurance company now and they just informed me that this place is the most expensive diabetes doctor to see in all of Panama City and his rates are almost double that of the other offices. Don't give him your money. Take it somewhere else where your life and well being are valued over your dollar. Absolutely horrible doctor. The doctor is extremely skilled in medical procedures. The biopsy he took from my thyroid didn't hurt at all. Great bedside manner. Unlike most doctors in the area, he has respect for other peoples time. I was seen by the doctor/staff within 15 minutes of arriving. I didn't like that I had to pay for an initial establishment visit. That is $80 I'll never see again and for what? To put my name in their computer? The attendant (plus-size, pretty girl with dark hair) at arrival was rude but she isn't substantial enough to cause a lost star. Payment- I had a little hiccup with payment but it was fixed to my satisfaction. I had an uptake scan done which is a two day procedure. Day 1- Paid. I asked if I would have to pay again tomorrow. The first attendant was unsure so she asked the attendant behind her. She looked up the procedure. She told me payment was only required for Day 1. Day 2- My results weren't ready so they asked me to come back. Day 3- The Billing Manager attempted to ask for payment but after some arguing she comped the visit. Later they sent me a bill for that visit (Day 3) but I called and they said to disregard that bill. Overall, Good Experience. The doctor is extremely skilled in medical procedures. They use state of the art technology everywhere in this office. My sugar was always either high or low . Now I have an A1C less than 7 and I feel so much better . They carry board certification in their field . Good knowledgeable team of doctors and staff. Definitely a leader in the area
I have been a patient at the Institute of Endocrinology for a long time. I get very surprised if I read anything negative about them . I have nothing but positive things to say. The wait time is reasonable and actually much better than most of the other practices I go to for specialists in that caliber. Most importantly , I am seeing a highly qualified specialist with best care and wonderful bedside manner. When I get a medical advice , I know it is for my benefit coming from an expert

Sat in an examination room for 2 hours and ended up leaving without being seen by the doctor. I had previous concerns about the doctor's practice due to the long list of additional services they are peddling to their patients. If you go to their in-house gym for $100/month, they offer mild-narcotics to lose weight. You can get Botox, a massage, have your prescription filled, blood work performed, go to gym, get diet pills and get an eye exam. Unfortunately, I couldn't get thyroid care.
Making an appointment is a challenge. The office staff doesn't return messages. On my 4th call, I got someone on the phone and made an appointment. No one ever returned my calls. I waited in the waiting room for 30 minutes, and another 20 in the exam room. The doctor talked to me for all of 2 minutes and had very little interest in what I had to say. Then I waited another 30 minutes for the nurse to come in and verify my prescription information. My prescription still hasn't been called in.

I was reffered to Dr. Kamel by my primary. When I arrived I was impressed by the beautiful clinic . From the front desk to the nurses every one treated me very well with a big smile. It was a busy day but I understand they take care of many patients . My father goes there and my cousin goes there as well. They have done very well for my diabetic father. He used to always have a terrible sugar . Now he is much better . My cousin is using their weight loss program and have lost a lot of weight .

I made an appt. requesting to see a Board certified Dr. of Endocrine medicine. . I arrived on time at 8 Am and waited in a not properly cleaned room. There is splatters of sanitizer on the wall, there were a small old desk w/fingerprints that were caked on. I waited with the door closed for over 45 minutes while I listened to the people working in the office chat away about their lives while I sat there. Finally a nurse practitioner talked with me for 10 minutes after I paid a @220.
Very nice doctor and staff . I have seen many endocrinologists but Dr. Kamel is the best .

I have been a T1D for 25 years. I returned to this office (unwillingly because there are no other options in Panama City, FL) after giving birth to my daughter. During my pregnancy, I was able to be under the care of Dr. Livingston who is very good. Each time I have gone to this office, I have waited over 1 hour in the waiting room. Also, none of my concerns have ever been addressed and the only things addressed or changed have been suggestions I have made. I have never been educated on new technology or anything past the invention of insulin. I only go here so someone will refill my prescriptions. Never have I been asked about my diet, nor given any suggestions in regards to health care, since my A1Cs are always fantastic. Anyone who has been diabetic for a long time knows that A1Cs do not give you a complete picture. Even when I asked a second time about specific concerns, I was not given any helpful advice other than to see another doctor. I feel bad for all the people in Panama City who actually need an endocrine team and this is what they pay their money for. Good things: The office staff is polite and nice, they will give you an appointment fairly quickly (even though you need to wait a long time when you go,) and they do refill whatever prescriptions I ask for (however you must know exactly how to word the prescription or they will mess it up.) I sincerely hope another endocrinologist will come to the area soon. I have been a T1D for 25 years. I returned to this office (unwillingly because there are no other options in Panama City, FL) after giving birth to my daughter. During my pregnancy, I was able to be under the care of Dr. Livingston who is … More
Inappropriately overbooked their patient appointments!!! I've been sitting in the waiting area and my appointment was an hour ago!!!
Dr Kamel is an outstanding Endocrinologist. What I like most, however, is the ARNP who works with him, Josey. I would compare her to the best MDs in the country. Additionally, Dr Kamel's office staff is world class; they are all helpful, flexible, personable, & profesional.
I am type one diabetic since I was a child . This is the best practice that was able to not only control my sugar but also help with every medical issue I ever had. I have nothing to say except good things about Dr. Kamel and his staff. Even when I went to the hospital sick throwing up and my sugar was more than 600 he was the one taking care of me in the hospital. I am on an insulin pump and use continuous glucose monitor. They keep up to date in every new technology out there before I even read about it .. I hear they are having a new office building that will be superior. Dr. Kamel treats my neuropathy that I have developed from being diabetic for many years. I am personally very happy and satisfied of how I am treated there. I am really surprised to read anything negative about this practice. The staff was very nice . The wait time was very reasonable keeping in mind that this is a busy practice . They serve a huge number of patients who need them. The doctor was really helpful and helped me significantly . The nurse practitioners are good and you can tell they do their best effort to help. Never got to see the Doc, so "No Comment" There. Office Manager refused to allow me to see him since I wouldn't agree to sign all forms (paperwork). Nice glass palace he works in, with expensive gadgets and technical machines. Full boat of staff personnel. Be ready to pay your co-pay before seeing anyone. They want that Money!
(Destin, FL office) Dr. Kamel seems to know his business and cares for his patients. Unfortunately I only got to see him once. Every other visit was with a Nurse Practitioner. His staff, one Nurse Practitioner in particular, cares little to know case history and is in no hurry to see patients as I could hear them nonchalantly conversing in the hall as I waited 40+ minutes past my appointment with only one other patient in the building. I've had several appointments there and each time there was some issue. There were long waits, incorrect prescriptions, and a general lack of preparation for appointments. If you have to use this office, demand to see only Dr. Kamel. (Destin, FL office) Dr. Kamel seems to know his business and cares for his patients. Unfortunately I only got to see him once. Dr Kamel is good endocrinologist but his staff is slow and do not do what they say they will do. When I came in today, I had to wait because reception person (only 1) was on phone. There was no sign in sheet. I waited in doctors office quite awhile before he came in. Nurse was to come in and run tests but was slow. (understand I am extremely sick) so since she was slow and never came in I left office. I asked that my prescription be phoned into publix but when I got to publix it was not in.
This is a good office with caring staff . Everyone is doing a great job . Very successful and helped thousands of patients in our community . They brought a large city level of practice to our area. Unfortunately nowadays any one who does not want to pay copay or got dismissed or upset for whatever reason , the easiest thing is to post negative on the internet . I believe we should support high level professionals like them to stay in our community and continue to help people who need them

His comprehensive intake evaluation discovered something important my other doctors were missing. I'm grateful for his ability to filter a large amount of medical history and see a pattern. Now I can source and treat a serious - but previously undiagnosed - disease.
