I have had four surgeries by Dr. Dagam over several years and have been very pleased with the outcomes. He always tries to see if therapy or something else might help and uses surgery as the last resort unlike some surgeons.. His staff has always been very pleasant and helpful..

With a history of back surgeries involving fusions, laminectomies, rods and fusions and implanting a spinal cord stimulator (for pain), looking back at all he has done for me, I am pleased and thankful for his skill and compassion. This last surgery was very complicated but happy to say I am feeling much better. His staff is very attentive and caring both in and out of the hospital. I would recommend Dr. Dagam to anyone. One would say that he thinks he is very flippant and condescending in not only his bedside manner but in his care of patients and attention to family members. He also treats hospital staff in a manner which demeans their expertise. I would never recommend this MD to anyone and hx includes his stalking of a social worker and then claiming to be a victim, marrying a pharmacist to try to regroup and not be deported. Stay away from this MD

Dr. Dagam preformed a neck fusion surgery on me in 2014 for a pinched nerve. As soon as I woke up in recovery room, I noticed my left thumb and forefinger were numb and I had an MRI two months after surgery which showed more of a pinched nerve that ran down my left arm to my left hand. I came out of surgery much worse by Dr. Dagam. He wanted to do a second surgery and I said no way. I have had a problem with pain and nerve zingers to my left hand, thumb and finger. Now, seven years later the nerve zingers are much worse, as in someone hitting my thumb with a hammer. I would never recommend Dr. Dagam. I wish I could give him a zero rating. Not happy at all. I had 2 appointments where I waited 1.5 hours in a crowded room with the virus spreading everywhere. I was finally seen, and talked to for about 3 minutes, and he had never even looked at my MRI results. He said he thought I had bursitis in my hip, despite the fact that I had 2 bulging discs, and the nerve path of those discs, were exactly the path my pain took. Extreme pain. I had to see someone else to get my problem fixed. He was wrong. Not happy at all. I had 2 appointments where I waited 1.5 hours in a crowded room with the virus spreading everywhere. Dr. Dagam is an amazing neurosurgeon!! I saw him first about 17yrs ago for a mild herniation that was aggravated by my job as a CNA. Then 8 weeks after having my first baby it blew out to the point of requiring immediate surgery. 15yrs later my only back issues are a weak core causing muscular tightness. 5yrs after my surgery I called him to take over my aunt’s care while she was suffering (undiagnosed) inpatient. He was her angel, making her last weeks with metastatic cancer (that crushed some of her vertebra) more comfortable. Five years after that my husband gave in to me and gave up trying to get care from his VA quack. After his surgery by Dr Dagam, he too has some muscular pain from a weak core but no issues with his surgical area. Dr. Dagam has an amazing bedside manner which is kind and caring, not arrogant. I cannot thank Dr. Dagam and his staff for being so understanding and helpful throughout my surgery. After 6 years of other doctors not being able to help, Dr. Dagam found the answer and I am back to my old self.

After suffering for two years with back nerve pain related to several back issues I found Dr. Dagam and he offered a solution with back surgery. I was very apprehensive about surgery but felt confident after talking with Dr. Dagam and what he described could be done. It has been a little over a year now and all went as expected. I am now without nerve pain and most back pain and am able to walk several miles and do the things I could not do for two years.

I do not have words that express my great experience with Dr. Shekhar Dagum and the back surgery he performed on me. I had such difficulty walking and sleeping at night. I walked with great difficulty using a cane and really felt like the old man I am. My legs ached so much at night and the only relief was to sit up with pillows on my lap and try to fall asleep. I found out that I had a large cyst attached to my sciatic nerve that made life miserable. Golfing, the game I loved was impossible. Acetaminophen gave me short lived temporary relief. Another Doctor recommended Dr. Shekhar Dagum to me and it was a blessing. Dr. Dagum examined my back and performed surgery. It was like a miracle because in a couple weeks I was able to walk and climb stairs like I used to and sleep without aches or pain. I could never thank Dr. Shekhar Dagam enough and would recommend him to my family and others seeking relief from back problems. Douglas L. St. Onge

I had spinal fusion surgery over a year ago, and I could not be more happy. Before the surgery, I had constant pain that was very limiting. Following Dr. Dagams game plan, I am able to ride my bicycle every day and up to 40 miles at a time, I am able to Kayak and hike up to 12 miles at a time with a small backpack. He gave me back my life. I am 63 and in good health, and Dr. Dagam did a great job managing my expectations and was very thorough. I am very pleased with the surgery, with the recovery, and with managing my post surgery activities. He was excelent.

Dr. Dagam and his team gave me my life back following a serious jetski accident while on vacation out of the country. I broke my back and pelvis. After being airlifted to the nearest US trauma center, I underwent back surgery. Due to the emergency nature of the situation, the injury to my pelvis was not identified at that time. Once I was finally able to fly home, I thought the unrelenting pain and continued inability to walk right was just part of the healing process from my back surgery. Unfortunately, I continued to experience worsening pain and finally, a complete inability to walk. I started researching neurosurgeons in the area and by the grace of God, found all the outstanding reviews on Dr. Dagam. From the beginning it was clear that this man genuinely and truly cares about his patients. I was struck by his kind, compassionate and authentic demeanor. He took the time to really understand every detail and he was EXTRAORDINARILY thorough. After several diagnostic procedures, he determined that my R SI joint had been severely damaged. He recommended fusion surgery with an implant constructed of titanium. After I recovered from the actual surgery itself, I could tell that my right hip area finally felt stabilized and ‘solid’ for the first time since the accident. The pain went from an 8 or 9 out of 10, down to a 2 or 3 almost immediately! I was still in a wheelchair while I recovered, but finally...after 5 excruciating months of relentless, debilitating pain, I could breathe again! Dr. Dagam gave me back my life and has stayed with me every step of the way. There are simply no words to express the depth of my gratitude. This man is truly one-of-a-kind! Dr. Dagam was very thorough on his first visit of explaining to me what was causing the shooting pains down my legs. He showed me what the MRI exposed as the problem and then proceeded to detail what needed to be done. Dr. Dagam presented me with a couple of options and was very patient in explaining to me all the pros and cons of each option. He never seemed rushed, but truly wanted to allay my fears about the back surgery I was to undergo. The surgery was six months ago and the recovery is progressing in the time-frame that he had led me to believe. The two-year follow-up is also an indication that he wants the best for his patients. I feel truly blessed to have Dr Dagam as my physician. In the past I have had 3 low back surgeries (2 failed) and 2 neck at C3,4,5. I am no stranger to spinal fusions. While under the Drs care for neck and headache issues I was also experiencing disc failure at L4,5 above an old fusion at L5,S1. I could hardly walk. The pain was staggering. For almost 2 years we discussed possible options and solutions, my pain specialist did ablations, injections several medications. Dr Dagam never pushed me into a surgical solution, but helped me to sort out the facts. At this point I had had several other opinions, but had developed a deep trust in the Doctor. A progressive approach, minimally invasive spine surgery was offered and that is what i chose over the conventional method. The recovery time was quick the procedure amazing. The surgery had a complication, the Dr had to release the old fusion at L5 in order to connect the new fusion at L4, L5 and make repairs to someone else's work. The results were superior! I awoke from surgery free of leg pain and thought I was in a dream. I was walking the next day with little effort. His P.A. Beau Boedecker has also been caring for me for almost 3 years now, and is more than qualified, caring and I could not ask for more. I am truly thankful to be in his care. He is an important element to Dr Dagams team. Again I feel truly blessed to have the both of them watching out for me. Certainly you will be lucky if Dr Dagam has time for you. Dr. Dagam is compassionate and wants to know what *you* feel is best for you as well as telling you what he's able to do for you and what the consequences are to whatever is going on with you and your treatment options. He doesn't just jump in and take over, he involves the patient in their own treatment as far as what the patient is comfortable with as far as options and follow up. When my regular doctor told me he was sending me to a neurosurgeon I panicked. The word neurosurgeon was scary (honestly I thought neurosurgeons were only for brain surgery - eeeeeks!) but Dr. Dagam took all the fear out of my mind and he and his staff took very good care of me. I feel that considering the kind of surgery I had and my age (65) I'm recovering well and quickly. I don't think one can go wrong if they choose Dr. Dagam.

I haven’t had back pain since the surgery. I felt Dr. Dagam had my health and well-being as his primary focus since my first appointment with him on January 9, 2019. Thank you so much for your early diagnosis and treatment, making me pain free in such a short period of time. I am extremely satisfied with the care Dr. Dagam provided. Thinking of how my life might have been without 17 years of back pain and being over-prescribed pain medication brings this 74 year old man to tears. I’ll always be grateful for having you as my medical provider. And would highly recommend you! Thank you for giving me my life back! I have consistently sought out medical treatment, attention, advice, and medication, to relieve my back pain. The results were the same, stronger pain meds taken more often and getting no relief. I tried acupuncture, chiropractor, massage therapy, pain management clinics, physical therapy, various exercises, and more pain meds.

I've been seeing Dr. Dagam since 2009 and he has consistently been the best doctor that I've gone to (in his field or any other.) He and his PAs always take the time to answer my questions thoroughly and make sure that I understand everything I need to know about my injury or the operation I'll be having. Most recently he implanted a spinal cord stimulator for me. At my pre-op visit he actually encouraged me to come up with a list of any questions I could think of and told me I wouldn't be taken back to surgery until I felt they had all been answered satisfactorily. Dr. Dagam is a rarity in this day and age. He is a doctor that actually takes the time to get to know you as a whole person not just the part of the body that is causing painful issues. I had severe back pain and neuropathy in my foot for 9 years. I had gone through 9 other doctors before being referred to Dr. Dagam. He took the time from day one to actually listen to me and he could hear the frustration in my voice from going to so many doctors and not getting answers. He was very thorough with the testing and actually came up with the reasons for my pain. Back surgery is a tricky thing it doesn't always take. Dr. Dagam made me very aware of this, which I greatly appreciated. He gave me different options so I could make an informed decision. He answered all my questions and also was very happy to answer my husband's questions and I never once felt rushed during office visits. It has been 3 months since my surgery and I've started PT. My Neurologist ordered an MRI and after review recommended surgery, however, mentioned the potential risks and rewards. Dr. Dagam was highly recommended not only by my Neurologist, but 2 other Physicians I visit regularly. Very experienced in Neurosurgery. Dr. Dagam was the 2nd surgeon that I interviewed for my spine issues (losing feeling in, and the use of my legs due to Lumbar stenosis). Interviewed an Orthopedic surgeon initially but did not believe that I needed his recommended Laminectomy PLUS fusion (L3-S1). I interviewed one final neurosurgeon after Dr. Dagam to compare notes. Dr. Dagam was my pick. professional, knowledgable, experienced. 2 1/2 hr surg., 3 day hospital stay, back to work in 8 weeks! ????

Dr. Dagam performed two different surgeries for me this last Fall. He spent time with my husband and myself, patiently explaining both procedures beforehand. Both Dr. Dagam and his staff were exceptionally personable and concerned for my successful recovery. I would highly recommend him to others.

Dr. Dagam did a great job on my back surgery. When I was in the recovery room, I knew right away the pain was gone! Dr. Dagam listens to your concerns and discusses all your options to you. I truly would recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Dagam gave me my mobility back. After an earlier surgery on my spine that did not do too well with another surgeon, I was skeptical about another surgery which I needed. Dr. Dagam eased my fears and proceeded to perform a flawless surgery from which I am recovering well. His professionalism and manner has impressed me and always keeps me at ease. I would highly recommend Dr. Dagam and his staff to anyone and everyone.

Dr. Dagam gave me my life back. Before surgery I was not able to drive, walk, or function. I cannot praise the doctor's surgical skills enough. Follow-ups in the waiting room may leave you time to start writing that book you have in you though.

Dr Dagam is the rare Doctor who has not only superior skills, but also a caring, patient-focused approach to treatment. I have had two surgeries with Dr. Dagam, both with excellent outcomes. I would recommend him to all who seek quality care.

have had a great experience with his staff. They were great to work with. I felt they really listened to what I had to say and then took care of my problems. Even after my surgery, I still can call for advice and they get back to me right away.

I met Dr. Dagam re: back pain with numbness & tingling. One of the things I liked best about him was he did not try to rush me into surgery & recommended less invasive procedures until I was sure I was ready. I would recommend him highly. The surgery was very successful & my symptoms have disappeared. In addition to his skill, he is also a very kind & caring person making me always feel as though I am his #1 priority. I'm grateful to him & his staff for helping me get back to my normal lifestyl.

Dr. Dagam was one the best doctors I have ever been under the care of. He took time to explain my medical needs making me satisfied with the medical plan we decided on. His bedside manor made me comfortable and confident in his ability. I was very satisfied with my experience. It should also be mentioned that the physician assistants working with him were equally great. The only downfall was the wait time, but I felt the reason was he took time with each patient so it was worth the wait.

At my first appointment accompanied by another person to be an extra "pair of ears" for me, we both were very impressed with the time and patience that Dr. Dagam took in listening to me and explaining what he could do for my stenosis. I felt that I was putting myself into very competent hands.

I suffered years of chronic low back pain. After going through testing I decided to try the pain stimulator. I went through the process and the trial went really great so in March I had the permanent implant for the stimulator. I have at least 50% less lower back pain it's amazing, not hard to go through.

My experience with Dr. Dagam and his staff was excellent. Extremely helpful and genuinely cares about improving your quality of life. The office staff is very friendly, and prompt with returning calls and answering questions. I hope to never have another back surgery, but if I do, Dr. Dagam will be my first choice.

I just recently had a 2 level fusion a few months ago. Dr. Dagam and his ENTIRE staff is simply amazing. He took his time to make sure I completely understood everything from the beginning to the end. He answered every question that arose and was very patient and understanding. The front desk staff is also ???? if you ever need any documentation or request to be filled out, unlike so many other offices where they act as if you are requesting a thesis of some sort and take weeks to complete, the staff at Dagam office is not like that at all! I would recommend him to any and all that are in need of a neuro surgeon ❤️❤️❤️ I just recently had a 2 level fusion a few months ago. Dr. Dagam and his ENTIRE staff is simply amazing. My Mom had a triple fusion by Dr Dagam Dec 2010. He came out of surgery and told me there was a leak of spinal fluid that he repaired but everything went great. The surgery went well. After surgery, my Mom could no longer urinate or pass feces. Dr Dagam cut microscopic nerves that control the bowel and bladder, tried to repair the mistake and then lied to us about it even happening. When she was unable to go to the bathroom any more, he just told us it was compression and swelling from surgery and it should come back within a few days, turned into a few weeks, turned into a few months then he said it could take up to a few years. When Mayo Clinic told us the truth, that she had permanent nerve damage, we quit seeing Dr Dagam. Since that time, my Mom has had multiple surgeries, most recently she had to have a colostomy done and they did a supra pubic cath - sort of an indwelling catheter. She is in constant pain, no quality of life. She's only 63 and had many plans of traveling, spending time with grandkids, playing tennis, just enjoying retirement. All of that was stolen from her by Dr Dagam. There was no malpractice lawsuit, we tried. Sure we were told we had a case. It's right in his notes that he cut the nerves. You can't find a lawyer in the state of WI that will go after a DR or Hospital. You can't find a DR that will speak out against another DR. The laws protect the Drs. Statute of Limitations is 3yrs - pretty ridiculous right? Forget the Medical Board of WI. The burden of proof on the injured is ridiculous and at your own expense. They don't really do anything with the info either. Google search it, you'll find out it's true. The other thing to know, Dr Dagam has had at least one malpractice filed and dismissed. That can be looked up on WI circuit courts. Getting one filed is huge! Something happened to that patient. There are also other reviews out there of patients who have had bad outcomes or worse! You have to really check into your DR. Make sure you know who is cutting you open. My Mom had a triple fusion by Dr Dagam Dec 2010. 12/10 Dr Dagam did a fusion L4, L5, S1 on my Mom. Microscopic nerves were cut in surgery, leaving her w/Cauda Equina Syndrome. Dr Dagam told us Mom's bowel & bladder not working was from compression & swelling from surgery. It would go away. He lied, it's very permanent. It was also in the surgery notes that the error was made. After yrs of self cathing and struggling w/bowel incontinence, 7/15 she had a colostomy & supra pubic cath. She has back pain & many issues since. I do NOT recommend.

Pain free thanks to Dr. Dagam. Had severe pain in my legs even making it difficult to walk without a cane. After he performed a spinal fusion with pedicle at St. Luke's Medical center in Milwaukee on March 10, 2015 I felt instant relief. Now one year later and completely healed I feel great at 76 years old and can do all things I used to do. I would recommend him without any hesitation. He has made my life so much better and I cannot thank him enough.
