I had ECT from May 27 to fairly recenty, terminating 2 weeks shy of completing the program because weeks before my system stopped tolerating it and it induced the worst mania of my life. None of these things was cautioned at the beginning, and Dr. Shah did not adequately explain herself or her decisions or plan for exit care. This is not my first time at the rodeo nor is it my first time wit a psychiatrist who is all too willing to take the lives, minds and happiness of others into his or her hands and the rest be damned.If you're seeking ECT, find a place with extremely knowledgable doctors, have action plans set up if things go wrong, and find a doctor who doesn't leave every day before she is supposed to when you're home suffering. Pretends to be your 'friend' but doesn't really care. The staff otherwise at Carrier Clinic are fantastic--all the nurses are great. It's too bad psychiatrists tend to taint everything.
