About Dr. Scott Alan Langford
Reviews for Dr. Scott Alan Langford
Have seen Dr Langford a few time due to issues with my R hand. I find Dr Langford to be very short with or without explanation, poor communication skills. Does not offer pain management for a hand that has a 5 cm cyst on wrist and a thumb needing repair. I have had bilateral knee replacements by one of his colleagues and this particular physician was very kind and showed empathy. I have had testing for my wrist which Dr Langford could not recall up into my chart. I, will be locating a new hand surgeon within the KC metro or travel to Denver where my previous hand surgeon practice medicine. Regards
Dr Langford did an excellent job and practically zero wait time which is unheard of
2 carple tunnel surgeries and very pleased with both.
My husband got injured at work and we went to ST lukes ER since it was the closest. They referred us over to RHO My husband suffered a severe laceration cutting 50% of his muscle. Dr Langford was very quiet and rude during our appointment said there was nothing to repair the muscle would grow back together and that his arm would be 100% good to go with some physical therapy. If we tried to ask questions he was rude and seemed annoyed to have to answer. He didnât tell us any pros and cons of surgery he just said muscle doesnât suture well and it shouldnât happen but also started he didnât know what it looked like since he didnât have images of the injury from the ER or hasnât opened the stitches back up to view the damage. We were so confused why he was saying that we didnât need surgery or for him to look under the stitches? Made no sense. The whole appointment was a mess and his office and staff were just as rude and didnât want to answer questions or were extremely snotty when we were calling trying to schedule a second opinion. Dr Langford personally called us and said we didnât need to come in and see another dr we had him on the phone and could talk to him then. I normally love St Lukes but after the experience with the ER staff and how things happened at RockHill I never want to have to use them again. If you donât want to help people, be a good educator, or have good bedside manners then stop practicing. People donât deserve this kind of treatment from a health care professional. He made it sound like it was our job to know everything and we were stupid for not. Just awful. Wouldnât recommend at all. You should have faith in your drs and trust and I have none for him.
Carpel Tunnel surgery itself...good far as I can tell. But... Terrible, terrible Dr at explaining or helping me understand Anything. His staff wasn't much better, then acted impatient if I asked questions. Dr wrote 3 different dates on my FMLA, STD and return to work papers. I felt like I was constantly confused and jumping through hoops for the whole 4 weeks. At appt when stitches came out, 1.5 weeks, he said go back to work. I said what about physical therapy? He told me that people that want physical therapy just don't want to go back to work. I was stunned! How incredibly insulting! I said I wanted to make sure my hand healed the best it could. He looked at me like he thought I was disgusting and he was exasperated. Silence. Then, with emphasis, he asked if I WANTed physical therapy and I said yes I do. He was very demeaning but I got my physical therapy. When I get my other hand done I will not go to him. I won't recommend him. As a person - he's lousy.
It was a Post op carpal tunnel 6 week follow up
Dr Langford has been helping me with severe arthritis of the hands and wrists. I have been suffering severe pain in my hands while working out. Dr Langford has made it possible for me to continue my workouts with minimal pain. The steroid shots have been extremely precise targeting just the joints that are inflamed. The shots last about 4 months and make my quality of life much better.
He was so kind and helpful with my hand problem. I appreciate him so much.
Excellent doctor for surgery. I have had four such successful surgeries on my hands and wrists. Carpal tunnel on both hands and both wrists for De Quervain's tenosynovitis release. Always impressed with his bedside manner and his efforts in always pronouncing my last name correctly. It is unusual and not easy to learn. To me this is and indication of his level of care, he puts forth that extra effort, when not all doctors are so interested. I would highly recommended him for this type of care.
very good about answering all questions, very pleased with outcome
Excellent Doctor. Explains everything, not pushy. Great hand surgeon. Would not go to any one else.

Dr. Langford performed carpal and cubital tunnel release on right and left side. Very pleased with the results. Explained the procedures and what to expect during recovery. Took time to answer my questions.

I have been treated by Dr. Langford several times, including surgery on an elbow smashed into gravel. I was referred to him by an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in feet, and is not in his practice group. I would not see any other surgeon for an arm or hand problem. I found him to be capable and caring.

Was obstinate and totally disinterested. Referred by St Lukes East Emergency to Rockhill to order further scans, better than X-Ray, to pinpoint cause of level 10 pain in right arm. Dr Langford sent me home after doing absolutely nothing, saying I should just come back in a week .. not interested in diagnosing, not interested in further scans, not interested in level 10 pain in right arm. Said "Let's pretend it is broken .. keep it in sling .. come back in week" .. no cast, did nothing.

Dr. Langford did three surgeries in two weeks on my hands. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a hand specialist. He was incredibly knowledgeable while being personable and putting me at ease every step of the way. Dr. Langford and his staff are amazing and I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome to my surgeries.
