Dr. Ristic has an excellent bedside manner - when he's in a good mood. I had many trigger fingers fixed. One time I had a carpal tunnel operation done at the same time as a trigger finger. It was so painful and swollen afterwards that the ocupational therapist wouldn't work on it for weeks. The bill turned up two years later!

I do not recommend using this doctor. I recently went to see him for severe pain in my wrist and thumb. I’m a previous patient of his and have been seen before for this problem a few years prior. I was a given a cortisone shot and the pain subsided. Recently the pain returned so I figured I would go back to him and receive the same care I got the first time, because it was a good experience. Sadly that was not the case. I received a another shot and this time he completely rushed through the process. After the shot I was in a lot more pain then I was prior and now was experiencing it in different parts of my wrist. I went for a follow up and explained this and he sent me for imaging. During this appointment he was extremely rough and aggressive while examining my wrist, and still continued after I expressed how bad it hurt and was visibly in pain. I went back after my MRI and he said that there was nothing wrong and that I just need to stop doing the things that cause me pain, even after I explained that it is even occurring during daily tasks. He made me feel very uncomfortable and unheard. To this day I’m still I horrible pain and will now be seeking a second opinion. I do not recommend using this doctor. I had an injury to my right ring finger. I got the injury 2 months prior to seeing him. I was able to use my finger as normal. He wanted surgery to align the bones a but better and give me maximum use of my finger. After surgery my finger is all fed up. I can't bend it which means I can't use it. He outright told me that nobody else in the country would have touched my finger and that he did an amazing job. Talk about loving yourself. I'll never go back. He's made it very difficult for me to do certain things properly. I had an injury to my right ring finger. I got the injury 2 months prior to seeing him. I was able to use my finger as normal. Girlfriend came in with a spiral fracture in her middle finger. This doctor brutally pulled, and manipulated her finger while she was screaming, and was beyond rude. After seeing another hand specialist we were told that Ristic likely did more damage to the hand/finger due to the nature of the fracture. STAY AWAY

Orthopedic Associates in general left a lot to be desired. We had a series of bad experiences. The place feels like a factory. Dr. Ristic struggles to relate to patients, he speaks fast, he's in and out in no time at all, and he generalizes - it was almost as if he wouldn't commit to a diagnosis. We got a 2nd opinion and really preferred the new doctor. Dr. Ristic treated the issue fine, we were on a good path to healing, but he left us feeling confused and uncertain, so we didn't have a lot of trust in him.

Holy Hell, he is a horrible human being!!!!! I originally seen a different ortho in the same office immediately after my injury, that was 9/11/11. I sustained a severe crush injury to my dominant hand/wrist at work, I fought really hard to see Ristic because he was a hand specialist....my appointment was one disaster after another, OT, and he did surgery on my wrist, TOTALLY missed the TFCC tear in my wrist, the tear is super deep and STILL exists to this day!!!!! After treating with him for 3 months, surgery and OT, he yelled at me for still wearing the brace he told me to wear, and yelled at me because he didn’t believe I still had pain, and surgery didn’t help, because he MISSED the problem, offered me NO PAIN RELIEF AT ALL from the beginning!!!! His NP was awful too!!!! At my last appointment with him he said to me....”I don’t know why you still have pain, I’m clearing you to return to work, and if you don’t like it, find a new Dr””!!” As I did...I then found an amazing Dr, who treated me absolutely wonderful, and actually diagnosed me with CRPS, one of the most painful conditions known to man!!!!! So, instead of telling me I just don’t know, get another opinion....he screwed me royally!!!!! So, since my injury I have been on Social Security Disability, and my career ended that day. I would NEVER recommend Dr Ristic to my dead dog!!!!!!!! Stay away!!!!! Holy Hell, he is a horrible human being!!!!! Dr. Ristic did not tell me before the surgery on my elbow (pinched nerve, causing numb fingers) and wrist (carpel tunnel) that there was a possibility that I would have NO BENEFIT whatsoever, and that I would end up with MORE pain/weakness. I now have pain in my palm, wrist, surgical site (after more than 8 weeks) as well as a completely numb elbow area the size of my hand. Stay Away!

Dr Ristic does not like to spend time in explaining anything to patient. He did implant a plate on my broken wrist. After months of therapy, i requested to see Ristic and he basically looked at my wrist and said he didn't know why i wasn't healing properly and recommended another Dr for 2nd opinion. I did my own research and decided to see another Dr at HSS (Hospital for Special Surgery). The Dr at HSS explained everything to me, had ultrasound done and turns out I need to have plate removed

My appt. with him lasted less than 5 min. (I can’t wait to see what the bill is). My pain had subsided by the time I could get in to see him. He glanced at my thumbs and pushed on the problem area, then he gently stroked my arms for a bit. It was confusing, did he do it to be therapeutic or calming, or was it borderline creepy? No discussion of what the problem might be. He then referred me to yet another doctor who would decide whether to give me a shot I assume for the pain I no longer had.

Horrible experience here ... didn’t give me options made me feel like I had no choice in treatment, seemed like he was in a hurry and didn’t have patience. He was very rough when giving me the shot. He didn’t really explain things to me the way he should have. I would not recommend going here .. the nurse was also a little snobby

I have had Dr Ristic give me an injection in the office to relieve trigger finger . He was very caring and gentle as he did the injection fully knowing the pain it is. He even apologized when there was no need to. The shot lasted in excess of 6 months and I was pain free. The pain came back and he gave me a choice of another injection or simple surgery. I took the surgery, and can only say how nice and caring he was in the OR. You can tell he is good just by listening to the male and female nurses talking about Dr Ristic in such a positive way. He was awful. I wouldn't go back to him or the ridiculous office he works for. I agree with Sherry's post ... He is the most egocentric arrogant doctor I've ever met. I only had to see him once for him to re-bandage a finger I sliced. I left the office, took off his bandage, re-bandaged it myself. If I needed a follow-up I would've found another doctor.

Dr. Ristic was very kind, respectful, and helpful to my personal situation. He astutely diagnosed my problem correctly, which an MRI confirmed. Being 20 years old I was terrified of my first surgery, by the next one I was a pro. He thoroughly explains everything he is looking at/what is going on/and what is going to happen. If you need a personal touch, sympathy, in order to deal with your illness or disability, look elsewhere. Ristic is a driven, focussed expert, who tries, but is no nurturer. I'd say, he knows hands in and out, and he does hear a patient and then advise. And he will change his mind to meet your wishes. As a surgeon, my bet is that he's very skilled and not too ready with the scalpel. In a specialist, better smart and expert than supportive and sweet. (Go to your PCP for heart.)

Sasha Ristic told me I had a TFCC tear on imaging and that he would do arthroscopic surgery in order to debride the extra tissue, but said that he didn't think that it would likely help the pain at all. What he failed to mention is that the imaging report also had said that the wrist was subluxating/dislocating, which in fact causes the TFCC to tear, and that other doctors in the past misdiagnosed this. In fact, he then did a less effective test and redid the MRI without the dye, hiding injury.

He seems to recommend unneeded and expensive tests and wants to get out of patient room asap. With in 2 months I received: don't move your finger, get an MRI (I pushed back) okay, MRI not needed, wear a strap. Nothing. Then cortisone. Come back in 2 weeks. Nothing. Then, there is nothing I can do. I get the sense he's thinking about his investments and vacation plans when he's with his patients.
