I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Kaplan. I went to SO many doctors about my TMJ before I finally found relief from Dr. Kaplan. She is everything a doctor should be. She listens, she is kind, and she knows how to heal people. She also went above and beyond the call of duty in referring me to fellow specialist who immediately cleared up a mouth infection unrelated to my TMJ.

Dr. Kaplan was really off base with my diagnosis. Do not recommend.

Dr. Kaplan is an excellent TMJ Specialist. Her staff are courteous and helpful

If you have TMD, you can find no one better than Dr. Kaplan to treat you. She is truly the best.

Dr. Kaplan and her team were not very understanding or professional. I had an awful experience with her front office team.

Her practice diagnoses problems without the right kind of imaging. They use a tomogram machine, an antiquated imaging system. In order to diagnose tmj properly you should be looking at MRI or cone beam cat scan. I found out the hard way and she treated my condition without enough information, consequently making things much worse. I later got another opinion with the proper imaging only to find out the treatment she was doing was inappropriate for my condition. Horrible doctor...horrible person who is more about the business of making money.

Buyer beware. This practice is dedicated to treating TMJD patients. Their default treatment is splint (orthotic) therapy. The splints they give you will eventually change your occlusion (the way your teeth meet), and if you want to ever stop wearing the orthotic you will need phase 2 treatment (caps, crowns, overlays). The other thing to keep in mind is that this treatment is very invasive, but they will never tell you that. Before you commit to this type of treatment, read wheat the NIH has to say about splint therapy. Many cases (including mine it turns out) can be treated with just physical therapy and muscle relaxers. Treatment with orthotics/splints/appliances is one of the treatments of last resort...before surgery. Also, you will pay $800 for your consult and $1500 for your splint. Then you will need multiple adjustments and each one is $157. I had 4 adjustments in 7 weeks and I know of others who had to have multiple adjustments in one week. They charge for each visit. And if you want a copy of your xray, they will charge you $50. They are a money making machine. If you want a real professional opinion, go to a dental school, where money is not the main focus.
