Dr. Sarah Lilyanne Xavier

Initial 2 appointments good. She directed me to stop a medication abruptly after I told her it wasn't helping. I asked if abrupt discontinuation could cause any problems she responded no. It caused me to have more serious problems which required more extensive/intense treatment. She was dead wrong, I should have followed the directions that came with prescription instead of her! A patient I know asked to see a counselor to avoid her expensive pay out of pocket fees not covered by insurance. Her counselor was her father, that was casual to the point of being useless!

Dr. Xavier is one of the best physicians I've ever come across. She is warm, intelligent, highly educated and experienced, incredibly caring and attentive, and goes above and beyond for her clients. I trust her more than any other medical professional. She has helped me in ways that I will be eternally grateful for.

I have been seeing Dr. Xavier for going on 3 years and have never left an appointment feeling misunderstood. As a psychiatrist, Dr. Xavier is attentive, insightful, and warm-hearted. I respect and admire her deeply.

Dr Xavier preys on vulnerability of her patients. My daughter was seeing this dr for couple of months. The doctor was not accepting our insurance so we paid a pretty large fee of $350 for each visit. Finally we found an in-network physician and scheduled an appointment. A week prior to that appointment my daughter ran out of her Prozac and called the pharmacy for a refill. The pharmacy called dr Xavier, who denied the refill (4weeks after last appointment). Since the new doctor still hasn’t seen my daughter she would not be able to prescribe, thus leaving my daughter without her medication. Missing a doze would cause a withdrawal and worsen a depression which Dr Xavier had accepted money to treat. In her disappointment of loosing a lucrative patient this doctor forgot that her medical license is not just to print money, but to help her patients. It is a medical malpractice to abandon a patient before a new plan of care is established. Our physician friend in NYC will be calling in this prescription. Please understand that any child who is started on a new psychiatric medication is at risk for side effects and therefore must be evaluated prior to a medication refill. Please understand that all documents that are submitted to the office are reviewed thoroughly by the physician between session one and session two. At the start of the session, the physician offers to create a sheet for the insurance company so the client is able to receive reimbursement. All documents that are submitted are reviewed thoroughly by the physician between session 1 and session 2. Since the new doctor still hasn’t seen my daughter she couldn’t prescribe. Without meds my daughter risks a withdrawal and worsening of her depression. This is malpractice, patient abandonment before new treatment plan is established.

Super helpful! Dr Xavier took extra time to listen to our needs and help us in the best way she could. Knowledgeable and completely recommended!

My husband and I met with Dr. Xavier for an initial consultation on behalf of our daughter, who has several previously diagnosed conditions. In addition to not having read the extensive background histories I filled out through the Patient Portal prior to our appointment, Dr. Xavier was brusque and condescending in person. Our 45-minute, $350 session was not nearly enough time to give Dr. Xavier a thorough clinical picture of our daughter. We were sorely disappointed with this physician.

I look forward to my appointments. She is knowledgeable and compassionate. I have seen many other mental health professionals before but no one compares.
