Dr. Sandip Pranlal Sheth

From my first visit I knew that this was the place I needed to be. Dr. Sandip Sheth is a doctor that listens and addresses your needs with a warm invitating personality. He is alert and very empathetic towards your plan of care. He starts from the beginning with treatment and therapy. He makes the decision about your care with you. You are always a part of it. If you want someone who listens, makes you apart of your visit, that's warm, empathetic and caring than Dr. Sandip Sheth is highly recommended by me.

I would like to take this time to say thank you to my doctor Sandip Sheth. In a short period of time he was able to see me as a person, not one with underlined issues. Together we were able to adjust my medication. Starting with the lowest dosage, working our way up to the levels that I needed gradually. Sometimes I thought he wasn't listening; he's not big on eye contact but he was always with me in our sessions. I would recommend him to anyone who needs a doctor with his profession. THANK YOU, DR. Dr. Sheth has been an exemplary physician, looking after my mom attentively and striving to make sure her quality of life is improving, not only her symptoms being managed. Sadly, not all doctors put in this type of effort, instead only providing the minimum necessary care required to keep patients alive. Thanks to the nurturing and attentive approach of Dr. Sheth, my mom has now reached a level of health she has never previously encountered, for which she is grateful.

Excellent doctor. Very kind and actually cares about my well-being, he wants me to improve and get better and I feel he is focused on overall improvement of quality of life not just symptom management- not all doctors are like that. Many are only willing to do the bare minimum of just keeping you alive. Dr. Sheth goes above and beyond and every time I make more progress he sets a new goal for me. Dr. Sheth is a great doctor! He’s very understanding and listens to your concerns. He took time with the patient who is my dad to help him with his health issues! I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a specialist.

Dr. Sheth listens carefully to his patients and provides feedback and courses of actions to take to help progress in life. Dr. Sheth follows up regularly to track progress made and discuss patients life, what they are doing, any reassessment on their plans and medications.

Full disclosure: This review is based on my one phone call with Dr. Sheth. I reached out to him at the recommendation of Zucker Hillside Hospital. I needed to have my elderly father, a veteran, evaluated for VA disability benefits. When I explained the situation he brusquely responded "Go to the VA hospital!" I explained that we didn't want services from the hospital, just an evaluation for disability benefits. We were originally referred to a geriatric psychiatrist at Zucker Hillside, but the appointments were a minimum of 4 weeks out. They suggested Dr. Sheth. "Well, call them BACK and find ANOTHER referral!" he barked. "Yes. Yes, I certainly will. Thank you for your help..." I was surprised by my calm. I think I was so taken aback by his dismissive and aggressive attitude, I didn't have the wherewithal to respond with the anger I was feeling. I certainly wasn't taking my dad anywhere near his office. If this interaction is any indicator of his skill as a psychiatrist or his bedside manner, I strongly suggest you look elsewhere. Hello, I just want to say thank you to Dr. Sheth. Thank you for giving me relief from symptoms Ive had for many years. I feel like a brand new person. I’ve cried before, lost and upset, but you took your time to listen and find a way to help lift me up. I havent cried & this past week has been amazing! I can think!! Dr.Sheth has been incredibly patient and helpful to me the last few months. He is always willing to answer the phone & return your call if you have an issue and need assistance. I would highly recommend him.

Dr. Sheth was very helpful to me at a critical time. During the Covid pandemic I was experiencing a lot of stress and had difficult finding a doctor that will see right away. I was able to get an appointment the next day. I am now feeling much better. He is a caring and compassionate doctor.

Dr. Sheth is absolutely amazing at what he does. He has been the only psychiatrist to accurately diagnosis and treat my symptoms. I would highly recommend.

I was a mess when I first came to Dr. Sheth from another doctor. Dr. Sheth sat with me and reviewed my history and my current condition- taking his time and listening intently. Dr. Sheth is very thorough and sensitive to my needs as a patient who was suffering with depression seemingly without hope of relief. I've been seeing Dr. Sheth for over a year now. He assessed me quickly and gave me the correct medication. Very understanding and took video consults throughout the pandemic which was a plus! I went to his office initially like a complete mess and now have been pretty stable with my medication. I told him he cannot go anywhere because he basically saved my mental health Thank! To whoever comes here beware, they act like your appointment is a joke and none important. They make you feel unappreciated, uncomfortable, unvalued, and very very DISREPECTED !!! I first saw Dr. Sandip Sheth … if you can even call him a doctor because no actual doctor would allow this to happen to someone that needs help and they so call important patient … on December 15 after he changed my appointment date and time TWICE, mind you I haven’t even met this man yet and we had problems from the start. From the moment I stepped into his office, it was like I was in a zoo. His secretary gave me this very cold talk while I was trying to sign all of the paper work, it makes you feel unwanted to begin with. Then when I got into the actual office from the moment I sat down she kept interrupting us because she felt the patient before me was more important than me and kept asking his questions after they obviously had ended his session and started mine. Every time she came in I kept getting lost and so did he because he was distracted and I had to go back and explain everything all over again. Mind you it was very difficult to actually go and get help to begin with, I’ve never done something like this and I don’t know if I ever will again if its like this circus. After only 30 minutes of talking and not even knowing my whole story he told me I was bipolar and sent me 2 strong medications which I did not feel comfortable taking due to him not even listening to me half of the time. I let it slide and let him set me an appointment for 2 WEEKS after. So he prescribed me bipolar and some other medication after 30 minutes of talking and then not even wanting to see me until 2 weeks from then. When Decemeber 29 came, my appointment was clearly set for 5:45pm with his writing on the back of the appointment time .. 5:45 came I got no call. I waited 15 minutes .. still no call. So I had to call and ask why I haven’t been contacted yet and without an apology the same rude secretary didn’t even say sorry or explain why he didn’t call. She just said hell call you later. Didn’t even ask if I was available at that time just game me the time like it was an order. I obviously tried to explain how unprofessional it was that first of all I received no call to tell me they had more importance on the patient before me than me and that they didn’t know what my schedule was so to stop assuming I’m available at the time they just felt like talking to me. No one knows anyones life or time and the fact that these people play around like this is not a great feeling. She then changed the time from 6:30 and then to 7:30 mind you he decided to call me when he felt like it and did not respect the time they rescheduled me for and acted like he did nothing wrong. No apologies no nothing. I ended up just hanging up the phone because no one should be treated unimportant and disrespected. These people only care about sucking the money out of the patients instead of helping. If its your first time looking for help and want to get actual help and not be horrified after asking him for his services STAY AWAY FROM HIM, he will scar you from ever wanting to receive help ever again. You’re better off looking for help in a hospital than this clown show.

Pretty terrible psychiatrist. No empathy. Does not care about his patients and always acts like he is stressed out. Rude guy in general, go somewhere else for your mental health needs .

I felt that Dr. Sheth helped our family at a time of crisis. He accepted my calls and made recommendations appropriately. He was willing to work with other providers to coordinate medication interactions. He prescribed the correct medication slowly and has helped get the situation under control.

The address for Sheth is 266-19 st off of union turnpike in new Hyde park. I don’t know why it says a different address, but it’s a calling for anyone else. This doctor is highly irresponsible, inattentive, and often forgets to prescribe the medication that he declares that he’ll put you on. Which leads me having to call him to prescribe it days later. Now, this isn’t a big deal. Though it’s irritating when he gives you an attitude over the phone that you called him. He doesn’t ever explain why he’s putting you on the medication, which leads you into doing your own research. It’s ridiculous when the patient knows more and controls more of the outcome of your appointment than your doctor does. For example, when I was trying to lower my dosage and he quickly lowered me and because of that, I had terrible migraines and I was completely debilitated. I had to come home from college and my mother had to call him up and ask him for an appointment (which of course he gave in his moody unprofessional tone of voice). His excuse was that there was no other choice in pill form. However, in his spectacular surprise, he found out that the medication also comes in liquid form which I informed him about. Which I was then on. Once again, it comes into question, how do you not know about these things? I haven’t even touched on the hourly waits for appointments. There is no point in making a time for an appointment if all that matters is who arrives first in the waiting room. He also tends to make up false statements that the patient said in the past, mixing up with other patients maybe? Perhaps, blaming the patient for his lousy work with the medication. I don’t know, but the majority of the reviews on here seem to have the same last name as him. Which is already sketchy enough. I would not go to this doctor and unfortunately I had to go to him because at the time it was extremely hard for me to find another doctor with the same health insurance in my area. I left a bad review about Dr. Sheth because of false information. He did not lie. My experience without before I assumed false information has been very positive. The supervisor of my therapist took it upon himself to tell him that he did not want my current therapist (his intern) working with me. This is because I did not get along with his Nurse Practitioner. The real issue here is Dr. Karen Giuliani. He's worked with her for years, and because I left her a bad review due to her unprofessionalism and cold manner, he is affecting my work with his intern who has nothing to do with it.

Dr. Sheth has helped me with my anxiety issues. He is very compassionate and a great listener. If I need to call him, he'll always get right back to me (even on a weekend) He really cares about his patients. I highly recommend him.

He was very rude because I’m transgender. He hangs up the phone and the first visit was a nightmare he was snappy he literally told me he’s not the doctor for me.

Dr Sheth is my mother's Dr. He has been magical with my mother and after long time I have started to see my mother Happy in life. She is getting better and all the credit goes to Dr Sheth. I really appreciate his help in my mother's recovery. Definitely recommend him to others!

I've seen numerous psychiatrists over the years. Some prescription happy, others not wanting to give you prescriptions for the medications that actually help you. While taking a medical history and asking me questions Dr. Sheth did not allow me to get a word in to answer him. He spoke on top of me, did not listen and was not interested in hearing what I had to say. He's rude and only interested in hearing his own voice. It was very frustrating trying to communicate with him.

Dr. Sheth is a wonderful doctor. He is patient and fully takes the time out to listen to the patient and is very compassionate. Lastly when you go to his office the wait is not long. I would highly recommend him.

I have not had good experiences before I met him. The other doctors would let you talk and then say try this pill or that pill. Dr.Sheth listens and is very compassionate to what you are experiencing. I felt very relaxed talking to him. He joins the conversation and questions you. I have left his business cards with my medical doctor to refer his patients too. His staff is very friendly and helpful making appointments.
