Dr. Murrell is outstanding. He is very soft spoken and explains everything. I felt very comfortable. My issue is his assistant. Called 7/7 l/m & call was returned right b4 closing with no message. I called again on 7/10 & no call was returned. The paperwork from my NP was sent 2 office on 6/14 and it had 2 b resent because office claimed they didn’t receive it. I am supposed 2 have surgery, but I don’t kno if @ this point I should get another block.

Dr. Murrell cares about what is going on with you and does everything to help . He has done several surgeries on my back and have gotten so much relief. His staff are awesome and they care about how you feel . I strongly recommend him to anyone. He is an amazing surgeon. I have never had a problem with getting an appointment with him. When he wants you to have an MRI or Mylogram or any other test done he has his nurse and his other staff to get it scheduled right away. He was recommended to me by a friend over 7 years ago and I trust him completely. He has always been very upright about what needs to be done to help. He cares about his patients.

Reached out to Dr. Murrell's office from out of the country - made arrangements to see because I had hurt my back. His office got me in, had a a quick session with him, had an MRI that same night, back in is office on Wednesday - Surgery the following Monday and on my way to healing. I found Dr. Murrell to be exactly what you need in a surgeon, succinct, explains the pros and cons the risks and rewards and then he did what he said he was going to do. I am still recovering, which is as he explained and I expected. From a surgical perspective - I have no complaints or issues, his manner and approach was spot on.

I visited Dr. Murrell on several occasions. He was always distracted, rushed, and not interested in the details of my pain or symptoms. I wouldn't return.

I saw Dr. Murrell for a pain in my hip that had been bothering me for about a week. He was very attentive to my problem and after X-raying told me what the problem was. He was very easy to talk to and answered all of my questions. Overall it was a good experience. I would see him again if the need arises and would recommend him to others.

We met Dr. Murrell when my husband was admitted to Methodist Germantown with agonizing back and leg pain. He was kind and compassionate in his explanation to us about the best treatments moving forward. He is an extraordinary surgeon, taking the ultimate care and skill that literally saved my husband's life. My husband was suffering with infection that was destroying his spine and causing the risk of paralysis. Dr. Murrell operated multiple times, removing infection and decay of discs. When the infection was cleared, he placed rods, screws, and cadaver bones in his spine to stabilize and rebuild his back. Thanks to Dr. Murrell, my husband is pain-free, in physical therapy, and walking again, and making fantastic progress. We will be forever grateful to Dr. Murrell for his life-saving skill, expertise, and kindness shown to all members of our family.

My appointment was right on time. Dr Murrell and his staff were attentive to my pain and concerns. The need for further testing was set up quickly and conveniently. I am totally confident in Dr Murrell’s care for me and my husband.

Dr. Murrell goes above and beyond to support, educate and treat his patients. I felt so confident in the outcome of my surgery under his care.

I saw Dr. Murrell in the OrthoSouth after hours clinic. My right knee was swollen and in pain, related to a back problem. He examined and X-rayed it and prescribed a steroid dose pack to help until my scheduled nerve block on June 25.

I had a 3:00pm appointment on the 24th. It took 2 hours before I could see the doctor. Three different staff told me that I was next after the first 45 minutes. One staff said that there were 5 people ahead of me. According to my medical records I was being," seen for a chief complaint of upper neck pain,..." I never complained of about any upper neck pain! I provides my cell number for the only contact. 10 day later,(after the 14th) no one ever called to schedule physical therapy.

Excellent! Sometimes the wait is kinda long, but worth it. I've had multiple back surgeries over 30 yrs. Last one was by Dr. Murrell. I've been his patient on & off for probably 10 years. He didn't jump immediately to surgery. He helped me get relief with physical therapy, nerve blocks, etc. He wanted what was best for me, not just do surgery. The best thing is he listens! He gives you credit for knowing your own body. Very refreshing. Would definitely recommend him & the practice.

Very good was seen quickly when oxygen tank was out

Surgery 2019-12-17 on Marge, my wife. 4hr, 40 min. Dr visit fowlowup later. More information about recovery expectations is needed. A month after surgery she is no better. Dr. should not only do a quality surgery but should explain things during the after surgery visit. Will she get better? when? in a month? months? year? years? what is the range of expectations? Baptist East will not be recommended by us. It was in the range of poor to ok.

I visited Ortho South for an evaluation of a condition in my spinal column causing severe back and leg pain, The doctor was concise but thorough, making a diagnosis and prescribing a path forward for treatment. The jury is still out on the effectiveness of the treatment.

Dr. Murrell reviewed my MRI and records to give me a second opinion. His prognosis and treatment was less invasive than what my first doctors wanted to do. I chose to follow Dr. Murrell’s suggestions and have been very pleased. Would highly recommend him!

Went well

Dr Murrell is excellent. He evaluated my husband’s cervical spine issue, recommended surgery, & he had no complications. He did a super job. Very professional and caring. My husband is 67 and now back to doing activities he thought he might never be able to do again. We are so grateful. Much answered prayer. Highly recommend him.

Once you're in the back, he's very quick to get you out. My wait time was well over an hour.

Dr. Murrell performed surgery on my Husband and myself. We were very pleased with him and the staff. He talked to us and explained everything he was going to do. Our back surgeries were 3 years apart. I knew I wanted Dr Murrell for my surgery he was great with my Husband and we would recommend him very highly. Appointments maybe 10-15 minutes wait. They are Top Notch

I have had 2 surgeries with Dr. Murrell and would recommend him to anyone. He explains everything he is going to do and he makes you feel confident in his work. He has even called the night before to see if you have any questions and before the surgery he comes to see you before they take you to the operating room. He was recommended to m by a friend and I see why she told me about him. I feel he is an excellent doctor . He cares about his patients.
