Dr. Samuel Greenwood Dellenbaugh

I highly recommend Sam Dellenbaugh for your orthopedic needs. He took care of me from November 2020 thru April 2021 as best as he could. I initially went to him for a bunion issue and he performed the 3D Lapiplasty/bunionectomy on me….over the next couple of months, other issues came up and because it was so much-he referred me and got me in to see the Best Podiatrist in the Capital Region…(Dr Tejas Pandya of Capital District Podiatry). Sammy has the Best bedside mannerisms for an Orthopedic surgeon-very warm and compassionate. Thank you so much for everything!

In 2018 Dr Dellenbaugh preformed a complete ankle replacement on my left ankle before the replacement i could hardly walk i hunt a lot and could hardly walk up a hill after the replacement it is as good as new i am very happy how it turned out Dr. Dellenbaugh is a very good surgeon he takes the time to explain the whole procedure very nice doctor.

My son had a ruptured tibial tendon starting the end of November. He finally saw this doctor in early January. He said he didn’t think there was anything seriously wrong. To come back after Easter if he was still in pain.

Dr.Dellenbaugh did a fantastic job fixing the fracture in my foot. Very minimal pain and discomfort.

I had my lapiplasty 3D on November 20th and my experience was exemplary .I'm still healing and doing better each day.Thanks Dr.Dellenbaugh .

Dr. Dellenbaugh is the best DR. that I have ever been to. I have been seeing him sense 2016 and have nothing but the highest levels of respect for him. He goes the extra mile for his patients.

Meh...seemed very disinterested in what lead me to his office, told me to hobble through the holidays, and if I still had pain, to come back. Who says that?

VERY DISAPPOINTING. Felt he was not the less interested in my welfare. Did not offer any advice for relief - exercises, PT. pain control. Never reviewed x-rays taken a few weeks earlier at Ortho walkin clinic. Spent probably 2 minutes total time with me. My foot was very painful and he had no suggestions except orthotics. He then handed me his card ! Never had a doctor hand me his card. The appointment was useless and added to my pain since I had to do more walking and for nothing. It seemed like I was a waste of his valuable time. AS a patient I felt he did not care ! Also he had a man with him (street clothes). I do not recall being introduced and what his purpose was. The aide had to recall MD since I wanted to know about pain meds. What he prescribed was unusable since I am on a daily aspirin for my heart and this med said DO NOT TAKE IF ON ASPIRIN. Read records ? I doubt it. So I left with additional pain and no clear direction for relief.

He is the best foot surgeon and best listener as a physician that I have ever met

Dr. Dellenbaugh is an incredible asset to OrthoNY. I had an tendon issue in my ankle and he was clear, kind, compassionate and helpful! During my ankle surgery, the ankle was more damaged than initially thought and he did a great job repairing everything and explaining it all to my partner -his explanation was clear and compassionate in the hospital. He never seems rushed and answers all of the questions that I have. Not to mention his staff is exceptional, I will never forget how kind the woman was who took my cast off after surgery-it was a stressful time and she was very helpful. I appreciate that he was always to the point and knowledgeable of our interactions- he records notes after every interaction verbally and uses them as he started every conversation right where the last one left off. He was consistently cordial, professional courteous- that is how I would describe each encounter.

Botched surgery by Dr. Dellenbaugh. Now I need my toe amputated. Also had two Staph infections post surgery.

I didn’t have a choice in doctors as I needed emergency surgery, but I’m so glad Dr. Dellenbaugh was the one who who did my procedure. He was great from the start and really helped calm my nerves going into surgery. He took the time to explain what was going to happen and what I could expect. I would highly recommend him!

My son and I met the doctor for the first time today. He introduced himself to my 9 year old and shook his hand. This action alone eased my child's tensions. The doctor took his time explaining and actually showing us on a model what was happening with my son's ankle/foot. We still have what could potentially be a long road ahead of us but with this as our first experience I couldn't be more pleased. When a 9 year old leaves a doctors office with a smile on his face, that doctor is doing something right.

I've been under his care for the last year after being hit by a car while walking. Always on time, courteous, professional, personable, and knowledgeable. Highly recommended!

Never see a Doctor when he has his bags packed and is ready for Christmas vacation. Diagnosed my husband with achilles tendonitis and Plantar fascitis, suggested putting a cast on his leg. My husband was a diabeticm with a open wound on his heel. I was assured it would be fine 6 weeks later my husbands leg was completly infected, his toes had turned black and the heel was ganggreen. Several surgeries, a toe amputation and several skin grafts. When doc says UHOH as he removes cast RUN

Dr. Dellenbaugh was very helpful and explained in detail about my injury to my ankle. He has a great personality he made smile even though I was in pain. Made appointment really quickly as well.

Dr. Dellenbaugh was great. Made me smile even though I was in pain. Explained in detail my injury to my right ankle. Making my appointment with him was quick and when I got there and in checked I only waited about 5 minutes before I was called back into exam room to be seen by him.

First of all he was rude when I had questions, couldn't answer them and was actually MAD I was asking them. I was extremely uncomfortable with his demeanor. He claims here that he treats as conservatively as possible and surgery being a last option. This is totally false. He told me I could cast or surgery. He pushed surgery HARD. I ended up cancelling the procedure and getting a second opinion at Bone and Joint. So glad I did. Surgery was an aggressive route and unnecessary for my fracture.

Dr. Dellenbaugh is a phenomenal physician! I’ve had experiences with other ortho providers and Dr. D far exceeded all other encounters. He is patient and answers all questions honestly. As a surgeon he does great work and really cares how his patients are post operatively. I highly recommend Dr. D if you need an ankle/foot doc!

If I could select zero stars I would. I really can’t say anything positive about this doctor. He was not helpful at all and has poor bedside manor.

Dr. Dellenbaugh is the exact opposite of what you would expect of an orthopedic surgeon, he's down to earth and explains everything throughly!!! He spends the time to get to know you as a person and not as a dollar sign. breath of fresh air, a dr that actually cares about your recovery!
