I chose to go to Dr. Heffelfinger because he was recommended by a friend and he truly exceeded my expectations. He is a fabulous surgeon, not to mention, extremely professional and knowledgable. He always managed to ease my nerves because of his reassuring manor and confidence. I would recommend him a million times over.

Dr Heffelfinger is beyond the most caring, kind and best Dr. I’ve ever met. I’d been having breathing in my left nostril since I was around & years old, and had recently struggled with confidence due to my nose. I booked my appointment and just from the consultation I could tell what a great doctor he was. He made me feel comfortable, and didn’t make me nervous about the procedure. Everything happened very fast, and my surgery was booked a month after the consultation! The day of the surgery I was so nervous, it was my first surgery ever, but he told me stories while I was getting my IV and he calmed my nerves. I normally get really nervous for needles but I wasn’t that scared. During the surgery, he didn’t have to break my nose so they recovery wasn’t that bad. Right when I got the cast off I could see the difference, even with how swollen it was it still looked so much better than it did before, and after a couple weeks I was able to breathe out of my left nostril!! He is an amazing doctor. Highly recommend him to people for rhinoplasty and septoplasty!

After years of worsening nasal breathing/nasal valve collapse after an unrepaired broken nose, finding Dr Heffelfinger was a true relief. He did a great job diagnosing my issues, presenting me with the available options, and finally performing a full septoplasty/rhinoplasty to repair my nose and remove a visible hump on the bridge. The result now 1.5 years later is consistently better nasal breathing in all cases, especially at night and at times of high allergen activity, and a straightened nose. The surgery and recovery was no joke, but he did a great job coaching me through what to expect during prep and recovery. The business end of the whole experience went very well, with insurance covering the multiple procedures completely. Thanks Dr. Heffelfinger!

My wife had damage from radiation on her neck along with basic old age wrinkling exacerbated by the cancer treatments . Dr. H worked a miracle with her. She looks incredible and is 6 years cancer free.

I had a major nasal procedure done with Dr. Heffelfinger and it could not have gone better. I feel like a new person. Every appt went well and he explained everything and is super friendly, knowledgeable, and is an amazing surgeon. I had minimal pain and a great recovery after my surgery. Yes, sometimes the office visit wait time can be long but its worth it. I would recommend Dr. Heffelfinger to anyone and everyone in need of a nasal/facial plastic procedure or surgery

In 2018, my seventeen year old son had rhinoplasty surgery to repair a break in two places due to a baseball injury that happened years prior. Dr. Heffelfinger said he could repair it at the consultation. After the healing period, he realized he still couldn’t breathe on the operated side, and his one nostril had changed its shape after surgery. We went for the post surgery check up and told Dr. Heffelfinger. He said “this is on me, I’ll fix it”. He went back for his second surgery. The second surgery went better. He could breathe normally after the second operation, however his one nostril was still noticeably different from the other and there were some cartilage pieces that settled in the tip of his nose. When we went for his post-surgery follow up and and Dr. Heffelfinger observed my son’s nose tip and nostrils and said he would fix it again. Then there was a red mark on his nose as a result of the original surgery that my son wanted removed. I didn’t mind paying extra charges for what the insurance didn’t cover, but the second and third surgeries were not part of the original plan and Dr. Heffelfinger admitted the first surgery was incorrect which was why the second one was necessary, but was still unsuccessful due to a cosmetic issue with the nostril and tip of his nose changing. We just feel that we should not have had to pay out of pocket for the second and third surgeries (insurance did cover what they covered in the first surgery). My son had three surgeries within three years and I’m currently making payments on the remaining balance of $3800. I am 8 days out from scalp flap surgery which I am at this point thrilled with. The experience was flawless and Dr. Heffelfinger was the best. He work a miracle and I couldn’t be happier.

Dr Heff and Nurses are personable and caring. Dr took his time explaining procedures, nice sense of humor and a skilled Surgeon. I had lots of enhancements completed at same time and had quite a bit of pain and slight issues. Dr saw me right away, put my mind at ease, prescribed great meds and even gave me his private cell phone number to call with any concerns etc. Months later had some minor flaws taken care of plus some Botox, which he administered. I went in thinking the type of procedure I wanted was going to be a long process with several consultations and waiting but it was was so quick and efficient I couldn’t be happier. The results are amazing and the staff were so helpful when it came to questions before and after the procedure!

I’ve been around lots of doctors and surgeons for years and can honestly say Dr Hef is one of the best. I knew him back when he was a pudgy resident and I’ve seen him grow exponentially. He is a gifted and talented doctor and surgeon. He really cares about people and takes the time to listen. I recommend him to all of my friends. He is a really special human being, if you need an ENT or any facial plastics, Hef is the guy for you!!!!

Amazing

Dr.Heffelfinger has ruined my life. I had a septoplasty with him. For 4 years i have had a hole in my left nostril and it is a possible csf leak or perforated septum. Don't ever go to Jefferson. The worst hospital ever. I have had clear fluid running out of 1 nostril for 4 years. Worst doctor everrrr!!!!!! Run from this place!!!!!!!

Dr Ryan was a rockstar, he listened, he cared and and I am now able to breathe after 35 years of issues! He is funny as well and I really like that quality in a doctor.

I am writing this review 3 years after my dissection (lower face lift). Dr. H did a great job on the right side, however, the left was still sagging. On my first post-op visit, Dr. H actually was the first to say as much. We gave it time and Dr. H offered an in-office fix (at my cost?) Over the years, my left side continues to sag while the right has maintained. This looks bad. I will be getting it fixed elsewhere. Dr. H down-played the post op recovery. Fortunately, I had the much-needed at-home help in place. His consult offered little info and questions were treated too lightly. My dermatologist referred me to Dr. Heffelfinger after a Moh’s procedure on the left side of my nose. Dr Heffelfinger performed the closure (about the size of a penny). From the first initial visit I felt comfortable and confident. The results are astounding. Very pleased.

I had Dr. Heffelfinger remove an egg sized lipoma on 03/15/2018. I was left with half of the lipoma remaining and a partial numb face, neck and shoulder. I was told 5 times during visits it would return to normal. Not the case. One year, I still have the lipoma and numb neck, face and shiulder. No suggestions on how to improve this condition. A life changing experience. Little concern, except to reach out to me about reconsidering my review. That it can affect his livelyhood. What about my face and neck. Imagine shaving a numb neck and face. I was never told this could be a possibility. I feel with the the partial lipoma remaining and the numbeness I wasn't given the appropriate level of care a professional should have offered. The doctor did ask me to wait a complete year before posting of my negative experience. I did. I had Dr. Heffelfinger remove an egg sized lipoma on 03/15/2018. Dr Heffelfinger is professional. His focus as he examines you is obvious. His office if very very organized. He did a great job for me with a great outcome. The Jeff system for appointments is a 10 minute plus hold. Best to call his office directly.

Waste of my time, gave me the complete wrong advice and now i have to get surgery.

I can't say enough about Dr. Heffelfinger. He quite possibly saved my life. For years I had told doctors in Wash, DC (where I lived) that I need them to cut my nose open and operate. They disagreed. They didn't even perform a CT scan. When I finally moved to Philly a former classmate of Ryan's recommended him. He took a CT, found a ton of things that were wrong and put me under the knife to clean my turbinates, fix my deviated septum and give me a bit of a nose job :) During surgery he found A TON of non-cancerous nasal polyps. A 2.5h job turned into 5h. Today I can take full breaths. We also discovered I was allergic to a ton of stuff. So yes, this guy saved me. He's the king. I can't say enough about Dr. Heffelfinger. Dr Ryan Heffelfinger was the fifth surgeon I took my child too. He was knowledgeable in varrious procedures that others were not. Very compationate and willing to help. The office is great, they work with my schedule, especially since we drive 3 hours just to see him!
