Dr Higdon showed care and concern above what you usually find in a physician. She was instrumental in helping my wife during a very difficult time in our lives and we will always be greatful for her skills, professionalism and kindness.

Dr. Higdon worked with me and my cervical cancer. She is AMAZING! I never left an appointment with her, without knowing the plan, the options and future milestones. She is kind, professional, and an excellent surgeon. I highly recommend her.

At one time Dr Higdon was the only gynecological oncologist In Alaska. Kind, caring & highly qualified. I owe my life to her. 17 years cancer free.

After having breast cancer one year ago, I recently tested positive for the BRCA 2 mutation. I was referred to Dr. Higdon. Dr. Higdon is extremely well respected, and she took excellent care of me. I had a preventative bilateral salpingo-oopharectomy. I had extensive scar tissue due to 3 caesarian sections (unknown to me; so unknown to her until my surgery). Dr. Higdon was able to perform the procedure laparoscopically. I recovered quickly, and healed well, with minimal scars. Dr. Higdon is one of the most kind, personal and caring physicians I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. She called me herself with test results; sincerely offered to talk with me whenever I needed to; and answered all of my questions with compassion, empathy and professionalism. I would highly recommend her to anyone needing a Gynecological Oncologist. In addition, her staff and her nurse are very caring and knowledgeable.

Doctor Ruth Higdon is a fantastic and extremely talented physician/surgeon. She took excellent care of me, and followed up for 2 years after my surgery. I highly recommend her! ❤

Dr. Higdon is an excellent doctor! I was diagnosed with a rare(ish) OB cancer, and Dr. Higdon has shown nothing but compassion in every step of my treatment process. She has been patient, understanding, responsive, and empathetic towards me as a patient. I never feel any sort of reluctance when I feel the need to ask her questions, as she always responds with kindness and understanding. She treats me as a valued patient, as I can only imagine how she does the rest of her patients. We are still working through my treatment plan, but I can say I feel 100 percent confident in Dr. Higdon and her decisions regarding my treatment path. Dr Higdon is a wonderful, talented surgeon. She is very personable. She even called me 2 days after I got home from the hospital (it was mothers day) to see how I was doing and we even chatted for a bit. She will laugh with you and she is understanding of the emotions that go along with surgery.
