Dr Buchanan did my back surgery 14 years ago and have been pain free ever since! Very personable and great sense of humor! Would recommend to anyone!

He has taken care of my youngest son starting at age 17 and has now seen him again at age 26 for his fifth back surgery. In between my son lived in other areas and had to get his surgeries there for convenience. But Dr. is very personable and kind to my son who sometimes doesn’t know how to advocate for his own health care. When one doctor tells him no help Dr. B will come back stating he needs and MRI to see what’s really going on again. Thanks for taking the time to figure it out. Dr. Buchanan and his staff are the best. I had multiple surgeries and Dr. Buchanan was exceptional at explaining every step, very easy to talk with. Staff is also very personable and caring!

I was completely satisfied and happy to have had Dr Buchanan as my surgeon. He was great. Highly recommend.

They always set you up with a PA. Is Dr. Buchanan so special that he can't see patients himself? The PA we had acted like she didn't care about anything. Pain for years, 3 bulging discs, a foot that wont move and she recommends pain shots. Same as she did years before.

Good back surgeon

amazing Doctor and a very caring person.

Dr. Buchanan is one of the nicest human beings you could ever hope to meet. He was wonderful when my brother needed his back surgery. The pain was immediately gone and recovery was much faster than we could have ever dreamed. When my med-student daughter was considering becoming a surgeon, he graciously agreed to let her shadow him. She raved about how gracious and understanding he was with her. He is a true gentleman. dr Buchanan did my back surgery. he was so good at explaining everything so that I could understand what was going to happen and what to expect. the surgery was a complete success! he is a gifted dr. and I will forever be grateful for his skilled hands.

I saw him for the consultation, the day of surgery and day of discharge. Am 3 months post op. I haven't seen him since. I have had worse pain since the surgery. Wish I never had surgery.

While the assistants at the front desk are great i find that the things that happen after that are extremely unprofessional and misleading. Let me first preface things by saying i had a previous appt which i was late for and then rescheduled for a later date. I also was told at that time that i would being seeing a physician assistant which i did not want considering the seriousness of my situation. I asked at that time to be scheduled at a later date to meet with Dr. Buchanan. I was given a new date so i was assured that i would get to see him. When it came time for the appointment i was sure to be on time but again was assigned a PA. I said i did not want a pa and when i scheduled this appointment , did so thinking that i would get to see him. The nurse's (assistant) words to me were to that this is who i was assigned but my referral nurse had said otherwise. When i raised my voice to get her to listen to me she told me that i would have to calm down or she would kick me out. At that point i said i would like to reschedule and then she became quite snippy with me and yanked her key card out of the computer and in a snarky fashion said to just wait in the room. I waited for 5 minutes and then went to the door. When i opened the door she was down the hall talking to someone . I told her i was finished and said goodbye. On my exit out of the office i told the front desk assistant that i was misled in my office visit. Upon saying that i heard the assistant yelling " your done here".. to which i said " you're right i am done here!" Never again. Never have i been so misled. #obamacareisajoke. Great doctor, very personable with a sense of humor. Suffering for a year with leg pain,, but Dr. Buchanan was able to get rid of leg pain through surgery. I would highly recommend.

went to him for a long time about 2 years i liked him seemed professional he's assistant on the other hand fails to listens to patient .She can't even keep her dates straight or when she does or doesn't prescribes meds.fails to apologize when she is wrong.

Dr was a second opinion and I am so glad I chose him! First surgeon I saw had me so freaked out about the proposed procedure that I left the office in tears. Sitting down with Dr. Buchanan was nice. He was very personable and answered all of my questions without making it sound all gloom and doom like the first one. He was able to have me back to work in 2 months vs the 6 months, if ever, that I got from the first one I saw. He also went to bat for me when my insurance wasn't going to cover.

Excellent Doctor and very personable. Did not recommend back surgery in early 2000's because he felt he could not fix my back problems. Turns out I have undiagnosed MS that's causing alot of my problems that surgery would not fix. He did perform two neck surgeries that really helped ! Thanks Russell ! Ive had a back issue for a while now and I chose Dr Buchanan to perform my 2nd back fusion. Dr Buchanan was very professional and made me feel very comfortable in my decision to go forward with my procedure. I still have pain which I expect for the rest of my life but it has improved dramatically and I would recommend Dr Buchanan in a heartbeat for anyone with back issues. Thank You Dr Buchanan. I had extreme siactic pain in my right leg. I went to several doctors, Dr Buchanan took a look at my issue an found a fracture in my L4 vertabre. I'm a week out of a Laminectomy and I have no siactic pain. His staff a very professional and he explained the whole process in layman's terms.

I am so happy with Dr.Buchanan, Lynn and his staff.He has made my life whole again. I had numbness and pain in my arm and shoulder that made it hard for me to work and do my daily living activities. including sleep.He concluded that I needed to have a cervical disc fusion on my back on 2 discs.I had been in pain since November my family and friends have witnessed my turmoil first hand. My husbands friend referred us to Dr Buchanan and i am blessed to say i am pain free after my surgery one week ago. I have some stiffness in my neck from the the fusion but no numbness no shoulder pain. I am ecstatic at my progress. Dr Buchanan in my book is the best neurosurgeon and if i ever need surgery again he will be doing it. Thank you so so much Dr. Buchanan and his awesome team. Arrived 5 minutes before scheduled appointment with the required new patient paperwork I was mailed all completed. I was told it was the wrong paperwork due to a mix up and I would have to reschedule the appointment. After driving 30 miles and taking time off work, I asked if I could fill out the paperwork while waiting for the Dr and complete if necessary after consulting with the Dr. I was told this would not be possible. I can not recommend a Dr. this is not willing to accommodate.

Did a Carpal Tunnel surgery with no complications. Easy to talk to and friendly. Felt like this was no big deal and it wasn't
