Dr. Roy Sidney Lowenstein

Dr Lowenstein is a wonderful doctor md. He's very knowledgeable when it comes to rare and unusual conditions. He makes time to hear your concerns. I wanted to give an extra special thank you to Susie his medical assistant she's knowledgeable kind and wonderful with patients. She also is the only one that can typically do blood draws with my tiny little veins. His office staff is wonderful to.

He treated me horribly, left me feeling worse about myself each time I went in and provided no beneficial treatment. I do not recommend him and advise everyone to not be seen by him. He is not qualified to be in this kind of care and should not be allowed to work with any patients. I am still scarred from his terrible work with me and it was by far the worst experience I have ever had with a medial professional. He discouraged me from seeking help else where for a while because I was so upset from his mistreatment. It was hard for me to overcome the mental and emotional damage he caused. After years of promising trust and availability, I found them only to be a show. Dr. Lowenstein put himself first in the therapy often bringing his personal life into the room. As he grew older (70's), his skills as a psychiatrist decreased even losing skill in safely prescribing medications. I, the patient, have been saddled with lifelong pain and doubt as a result of years of therapy with him. Beware he is skillful at letting you see the side of his personality that benefits him.

He did more harm than good. I would not recommend Dr. Lowenstein to anyone.

He was terribly condescending, and I felt like I had to defend myself to him. I constantly felt rushed, he ended the hour at 45 minutes every time, and I personally feel like he did more damage than good. I sometimes think I should have reported him to DORA for mistreatment things went that poorly. I would not recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Lowestein's approach is controlling and condescending. He views his perspective as all important. His deficit based view of people living with mental health conditions does nothing to move you forward. He told me to quit my job when I advised him that the side effect of the high doses of medications caused me to drool and caused such brain fog, I was struggling? at work. He called my father demanding that I continue services as a self pay after he dropped my insurance. He's a bully!

Terrible. Condescending. Told me that he wouldn't see me because my case was too "messy" Interesting choice of words for a doctor treating people with emotional issues.

After talking with the 'dr' I was left flabbergasted. He actually told me my case was 'too messy' and didn't have any interest getting involved. OK fine. But I found it to be incredibly rude and professionally unacceptable, especially considering that guy is a mental health provider. Terrible. I've never had an experience where I was treated with such disdain by a medical professional.

Dr Lownestein treated me when I was an adolescent. He advocated for me in a difficult and seemingly friendless juncture in my life, and his compassion, warmth and humor have sustained me in times of difficulty my entire life. I feel he saved me from a life unexamined and I will always be grateful for his rare and deeply kind counseling. I am now 50 years old, and have not been his patient in over 30 years yet his intelligent and skillful advocacy remain a comfort. I recommend him without reservation for any kid who is going through the rapids of transition. Thank you Dr. L.

This guy screwed up my wife's head and as a result has made my life much more difficult. If you see him be sure & avoid his tendency for reverse transference, fixating on your life & inserting himself into your history. One sign, if he starts asking for photos of you as a 12 year old, that is probably going to end badly.

Dr. Lowenstein is an excellent psychiatrist and everything you could wish in a therapist: kind, compassionate, and good at practical solutions to help work through depression.

I can't put into words how much Dr. Lowenstein has helped me over the past several years. I am much less depressed, much less anxious, and take much less medicine than I took before. He is easy to talk to and is great with helping you tackle your biggest problems. Very professional and an overall great doctor!!

I haven't even read the other review but at 1 star I'm sure it's balogna. I was a patient of Dr. Lowenstein's for over 2 years. In that time, he helped me literally change my life around. He has helped me with my depression, anxiety, my feelings of being worthless. I moved out of state which is why I don't see him anymore. I've been been to a few psychiatrists and none of them even come close to how professional, caring, insightful, and all around great person that Dr. Lowenstein is. He is the Dr. that made me realize they don't all do it for the money, that some people in this world really care... DR. LOWENSTEIN IS ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE. I haven't been under his care for almost 6 months now, so please don't think he slipped me some kind of pill to write such a great review, he just is that great of a doctor. I am a real patient of his, not somebody just writing a review for him. So if you don't think this is real, or have questions about seeing Dr. Lowenstein before you do, I can talk to you and assure you, that you are making the right decision.
